Alexander sat in the waiting room as the hours ticked by.
His eyes tracking the slow movent of the clock on the sterile wall.
Everything had turned out well.
By the ti the surgical lights were finally turned off it was already five o’clock in the afternoon.
He had spent his entire day trapped in the confines of the hospital.
Leaving him with exactly two hours before his scheduled appointnt with Aria.
The heavy double doors swung open and the doctor stepped out removing his surgical mask with a tired but satisfied expression.
He walked straight over to Alexander.
"The surgery was a complete success" said the doctor "Mrs. Jessica is entirely stable now, fortunately, her cardiac pressure normalized under the dication, so there was no need for an imdiate surgical intervention on her heart"
"We will keep her under observation" said the doctor "But the worst of the crisis has passed"
"And what about Ashley?" asked Alexander, standing up and smoothing down his jacket
"With Ashley, yes, we had to intervene, but we managed to locate and repair the internal hemorrhage perfectly" explained the doctor, checking his notes "The blood clots have been safely cleared out, and we properly set her fractured ribs"
"She is currently in the recovery wing resting under heavy anesthesia" said the doctor "Given the extent of her injuries, she will need to remain hospitalized for at least a week, but she is completely out of danger"
"I see" stated Alexander, his voice calm and practical "I have already arranged the initial financial coverage at the front desk, let know if any further expenses co up"
"Thank you, sir, your quick action and financial backing saved both of their lives today" said the doctor, offering a respectful nod before turning back toward the wards
Alexander glanced down at his Rolex one last ti checking the ticking hands.
Two hours was more than enough ti to drive back change into a fresh outfit and head out to et Aria.
Alexander left the hospital got into his rcedes and drove straight back to the hotel.
After a quick shower to wash off the sterile hospital scent he was just wrapping a towel around his waist when the door to the suite clicked open.
Marcus walked in his eyes bloodshot and his face drawn with intense anxiety.
"Did everything go well?" asked Marcus, his voice trembling as he stepped into the room
"Everything is in order" stated Alexander, his tone completely steady as he walked over to the closet "Both of them are entirely out of danger, your sister will have to stay at the hospital for at least a week, but it shouldn’t lead to anything worse"
"Fortunately, they managed to drain the internal bleeding in ti" said Alexander "And since the deep internal injuries weren’t too extensive, she won’t require any extra surgeries"
Marcus let out a long heavy breath his shoulders dropping as weeks of built-up tension finally vanished.
He collapsed backward onto the plush leather sofa staring blankly at the ceiling in pure relief.
anwhile Alexander ignored his partner’s emotional release.
He calmly grabbed his clothes from the hangers dried himself off and began to change into a fresh outfit.
Marcus stayed quiet for a long mont simply rubbing his face with both hands.
"I don’t even know how to thank you, Alex, if you hadn’t been there..." said Marcus
"Don’t worry about it" stated Alexander, buttoning up a crisp black button-down shirt in front of the mirror "It was a tily coincidence, but you need to figure out what your next step is going to be once she wakes up"
"I know" muttered Marcus, looking up from the couch "But like you said, I have to take it slow, if I push too hard, Ashley will just shut down again"
"Exactly" stated Alexander, sliding his Rolex back onto his wrist and grabbing his car keys from the dresser "I have so business to attend to now, so I’ll leave the rest of the monitoring to you, the hospital has my contact info if anything urgent cos up"
"Yeah, go ahead, thanks again, man" said Marcus, throwing his head back against the cushion
Alexander gave a short nod checked his appearance one last ti and walked out of the suite.
Alexander drove smoothly through the city following the navigation coordinates Aria had sent him earlier.
As the surrounding neighborhood began to shift his eyes narrowed slightly.
The area didn’t look like the kind of place soone as important and influential as Aria would actually live in.
Leading Alexander to assu this was likely a borrowed house or a private property belonging to soone else in her circle.
He finally pulled over and parked right in front of the address.
It was a small estate—relatively modest in size compared to what he expected but secluded.
As he approached the locked periter gate his phone buzzed in his hand with a new text ssage.
"There are no guards on duty today, but it’s unlocked, you can co right in" read the ssage.
Alexander looked up giving a casual salute to the empty air.
Even though he couldn’t spot a single soul on the property he knew exactly how people like Aria operated.
There had to be security caras hidden in the corners monitoring his every single move.
He stepped out of the rcedes pushed the heavy iron gate open and drove the luxury sedan smoothly into the courtyard.
Once inside he got back out locked the gate firmly behind him and turned his attention toward the main entrance of the house.
Alexander drove toward the main house parking the rcedes right in front of the steps.
He looked up at the secluded property a thoughtful expression crossing his face as he turned off the ignition.
"I should really buy myself a place like this" murmured Alexander to himself, resting his hands on the steering wheel "With the money I have saved up, it would probably be enough to make a solid down paynt"
"Staying at the hotel is definitely fun" murmured Alexander "And having everything taken care of for you is convenient, but it never really feels like it’s yours"
He opened the car door and stepped out flattening the front of his shirt as he prepared to et Aria leaving the thoughts of real estate behind for the night.
