Now reading: Chapter 1039: The Real Fu Yongnan from The Magnificent Son-in-law, a Action novel by Rain sounds during the hours of midnight.

The old man on horseback claiming to be Fu Yongnan indeed frightened quite a few people.

Especially Iron Child, who sat down on the ground with a thud.

He personally used a jack to crush Fu Yongnan to death, and now all he could think about were the stories of "vengeful spirits seeking revenge" told by the village elders.

"It's over, he's here for my revenge!" Iron Child's face turned pale as he spoke.

Old Ha pulled him up and gave him a dressing down: "Iron Child, can you have so backbone?

Everyone's watching, aren't you embarrassed?"

"Embarrassed? I might be losing my life; why would I care about embarrassnt!" Iron Child said, his voice tinged with tears, "Uncle Old Ha, if I die today, please tell Lily to find a good family to marry into.

In my next life, I'll marry her as my wife again."

Old Ha opened his mouth, wanting to say sothing, but knowing it wasn't the ti to correct Iron Child's thoughts, he agreed with a nod.

Xiao Feng chuckled lightly: "Sure enough, the Fu Yongnan that Zheng Wei brought back earlier was a fake."

"Oh?" The real Fu Yongnan on horseback spoke: "You guessed it early on?"

"Zheng Wei once said that Fu Yongnan was a senior mber of the Celestial Defect Sect, and also a blind man, truly disabled.

But the one he brought back was neither deaf nor blind.

I didn't think much of it at the ti, and when I realized sothing was wrong, Zheng Wei was already dead, and no one was there to ask."

Fu Yongnan laughed: "So you're Xiao Feng, the one who killed many of my Celestial Defect Sect comrades?"

"That's right!" Xiao Feng acknowledged, then imdiately asked, "How did you find your way here?"

Fu Yongnan smiled: "Of course, one of your people told ."

This remark made Old Ha and the others imdiately look towards the Demon Suppression Action Team.

anwhile, the Demon Suppression Action Team cast suspicious glances towards Old Ha and his team.

Xiao Feng, however, imdiately turned around and looked at Pang Tong, who was leaning against a box.

Only to see him stand up and laugh loudly: "I told him, none of you expected that, did you?"

"Indeed, I did not." Xiao Feng admitted frankly.

He suspected Pang Tong might collude with Gu Shi, or with the Devil's Concentration Camp, but never thought Pang Tong would seek out the Celestial Defect Sect.

On the Demon Suppression Action Team's side, two people, under Li Ying's signal, began to quietly approach, intending to capture him.

Pang Tong said calmly, "You'd better not act rashly, she's already consud my poison. As long as I don't hand over the antidote, she definitely won't see tomorrow's sunrise."

"Poison?!" Li Ying's eyes widened, finding it hard to believe.

Pang Tong, however, wore a confident smile and said to Hua Ling: "Try pressing your abdon."

Hua Ling obediently pressed her stomach with her little hand: "And then?"

"You... you don't feel any pain?" Pang Tong was stunned.

"Nope." Hua Ling replied truthfully.

"How... how is this possible!" Pang Tong sneered, "You must be pretending, you must be!"

Hua Ling blinked: "If you say so, then so be it."

Yet in the eyes of others, Hua Ling's deanor and response seed like she disdained arguing with a fool.

Pang Tong's gaze turned to Xiao Feng: "You didn't give her the real poison at all?"

Xiao Feng shook his head, unwilling to explain further.

"Fight!"

With Xiao Feng's shout, everyone sprang into action.

Pang Tong quickly retreated, reaching into his arms, but before he could draw anything, an Aspergillus oryzae dart flew past, forcing him to dodge to the side.

In that brief mont of opportunity, Iron Child seized the chance and punched Pang Tong in the chest.

"Crack!"

The sound of bones breaking was clearly heard as Pang Tong spat a mouthful of blood and scread in pain.

He had already expended too much energy and couldn't withstand Iron Child's full-force attack.

Now lying on the ground, he was half-dead and couldn't even crawl up.

"Are you just here to watch?" Pang Tong shouted angrily.

His words were clearly directed at Fu Yongnan outside the door.

In fact, Pang Tong's strategy wasn't entirely wrong.

If Hua Ling hadn't been so resilient, he and Fu Yongnan together would have controlled the situation.

But unfortunately, in the end, it was all for nothing, and despite all his scheming, he didn't achieve the desired outco.

"Hyah!"

Outside, Fu Yongnan loosened the reins, and the horse charged straight at Xiao Feng.

Those hiding behind the doors heard only the wind whistling past and couldn't mount an effective interception.

Xiao Feng remained unfazed, concentrating and holding his breath, aiming to pull Fu Yongnan off the horse.

A second later, Xiao Feng sidestepped and reached out to grab Fu Yongnan's arm.

Witnessing this, everyone felt their hearts skip a beat!

Although the action looked simple, it was anything but easy to accomplish.

It required solid composure, quick reflexes, and precise timing.

These three elents, none could be lacking!

While mounted, Fu Yongnan swung a bamboo stick backhanded at Xiao Feng.

Xiao Feng was naturally unwilling to take the risk of getting injured to bet on pulling him down.

Because, frankly, there was no such need.

"Shoot!" Hua Ling decisively ordered.

Du Qingyue imdiately spoke to stop: "No!"

"Why not?"

"You can shoot the horse first, but don't aim at the person for now."

Hua Ling thought for a mont, imdiately understanding Du Qingyue's concern, and changed the order: "Shoot the horse first!"

Seconds later, a bullet pierced through the galloping horse's skull.

The horse crashed to the ground, and Fu Yongnan swiftly withdrew his foot from the stirrups, rolling on the ground and landing on one knee, his ears twitching...

Monts later, Fu Yongnan's brow furrowed tightly, and he shouted angrily: "Pang Tong, you deceived ?"

Pang Tong, at this point, was hard-pressed to fend for himself, let alone respond to his questions.

Among those present, although few knew precisely how Pang Tong had deceived Fu Yongnan, they could imagine he had likely concealed the number of people and weaponry details.

"Should we consider a temporary retreat?" Du Qingyue asked.

Li Ying added from the side: "After the fight with Gu Shi, everyone is injured, and our stamina is severely depleted.

If we can't rely on firearms, I also suggest a temporary retreat."

Xiao Feng understood these points well, but with the opportunity before him, he was unwilling to let it slip by.

Xiao Feng admitted to himself that he was being sowhat greedy, but without greed, how could he win?

"Organize the wounded and move those with the most severe injuries out first, then retreat gradually in batches," Xiao Feng stated calmly.

"What about you?" Du Qingyue asked, her eyebrows knitted.

"I'm the one who has conserved my strength the best and haven't got injured, so I want to try him out and see the level of a Celestial Defect Sect elder."

Having said that, he didn't wait for anyone to persuade him and walked toward Fu Yongnan.

The others busied themselves, evacuating those who were too severely injured to endure further combat.

Fu Yongnan stood up, smiling: "I've also been eager to see why you were able to kill so many of my comrades."
