Now reading: Chapter 232: Ventriloquism Performance from The Magnificent Son-in-law, a Action novel by Rain sounds during the hours of midnight.

From morning to dusk, and now to night, the competition has lasted a full day, and only the Jiangcheng Team and the Xinwen Team remain, still in the final showdown.

On the big screen, split down the middle, it displays the conditions of both teams.

At this mont, the old fox in the Jiangcheng Team suddenly breaks away from the team and runs off in another direction, stopping only after running nearly a kiloter away. Then, cupping his hands around his mouth, he makes a howling gesture: "Awoo..."

This wolf howl left the audience dumbfounded, as were the other teams who had finished their battles. Is this a plan to create a diversion?

In the scene, upon hearing the wolf howl, the Xinwen Team imdiately halts their advance. Soone asked in bewildernt, "Are there wolves in this place?"

The leader of the Xinwen Team, Xu Xiaofeng, sternly replied, "Before you ask questions, think for a mont. This isn't so deep forest or mountain, where exactly would the wolves co from? Even if there were wolves, are you holding a fire stick in your hands?"

Being reprimanded out of the blue, the person who asked the question imdiately fell silent, though he couldn't help but complain in his heart. While it's true he's holding a gun, without live ammunition, facing a wolf pack, who knows if they could even take them down.

Of course, no one is genuinely worried about their safety. After all, there are drones patrolling overhead. If any danger were to be detected, the match could be stopped imdiately.

Just as Xu Xiaofeng was about to ignore these noises and continue forward, a strange sound rang out again.

"Awoo... ooh la la la... chirp chirp... quack quack..."

For a mont, the Xinwen Team felt like they had entered a zoo, with all sorts of animal noises being heard.

The first was a wolf howl, the second was probably the sound of bats taking off, the third was a chick, and the fourth was a duck.

"No way!" Xu Xiaofeng decisively said, "Everyone be on alert, keep an eye out for anything unusual around, and shoot imdiately if anything seems off."

The leader was indeed decisive. He didn't believe the Jiangcheng Team would pull sothing like this just to show off their vocal skills. It was likely a ploy to distract them and catch them off guard.

"Da-da-da-da!"

A burst of gunfire sounded, but all around remained calm. There were no clouds of smoke indicating enemy casualties, and no wild hares jumping out, just the sound of the wind and the blue smoke erging from the gun barrels.

In fact, if Xu Xiaofeng hadn't given such an order, the team wouldn't have been so tense. However, after receiving the command, the team mbers were so jittery that any rustle made them wonder if soone was there.

Then to determine if soone was indeed there, they had to fire a couple of shots to test it.

Just then, a team mber exclaid, "Look quickly, there's firelight."

All heads turned in the direction the person was pointing, indeed seeing a faint light flickering through the gaps in the wild grass. But at this ti, with firelight suddenly appearing, anyone could deduce it ant to lure the enemy in.

Xu Xiaofeng felt a bit sick. The opponent clearly signaled there were people at the firelight, but should he go or not?

Going might lead to an ambush.

But not going, should they just keep getting played like this?

Off the field, Shang Liben, watching, sneered, "Playing tricks, that's all the Jiangcheng Team is capable of."

Though cursing, Shang Liben also felt sorry for Xu Xiaofeng. Encountering such competitors determined to be Voldemort-like, it's like punching a cotton ball. Punching with all might feels like using only 60-70% strength at best.

In the stands, hearing intermittent animal sounds and seeing that solitary firelight in the dark, the spectators couldn't help but develop a strange ntality.

It seed that the Jiangcheng Team was the one sure to win. Otherwise, where's the logic in the weak teasing the strong?

"Ignore them and keep advancing!" Xu Xiaofeng took the lead in pressing forward, with the rest of the team following one by one, guns pointed all around, ready to identify any potential threats.

Xu Xiaofeng understood these tricks actually demonstrated the Jiangcheng Team's lack of confidence, otherwise they'd face them head-on instead of playing such gas.

So you just want to lure there?

I refuse to go!

You want to order the team to fire at any signs of danger?

I won't give the order!

With that thought, his frustration dissipated quite a bit, and Xu Xiaofeng felt sowhat smug. His "Spiritual Victory Technique" indeed proved to be an infallible weapon.

However, after advancing less than five hundred ters, the sound of gunfire shattered the night's silence, shadowy figures appeared across, constantly shifting positions, moving from one cover to another.

"Disperse! Prepare for battle!"

With Xu Xiaofeng's command, everyone sought nearby cover and looked for chances to shoot back.

After a round of fighting, the damage ratio was three to five, nearly double, significantly boosting Xinwen Team's morale.

Each side had only fifteen mbers joining the battle. Within just half an hour, the Jiangcheng Team had lost a third of their mbers. It was imdiately clear who was more dominant.

Shang Liben felt elated and again approached the Jiangcheng Team's camp, laughing heartily, "See that? Tricks only gain a temporary advantage, it's hard power that wins in the end."

"What are you so proud of, has the referee blown the whistle? Has the flag been pulled? Is the match over?" The little girl retorted with three questions in a row.

Lu Yao also chid in, "Laughing last is crucial; don't get too happy now or you might end up crying later."

Shang Liben's face turned red, but he didn't have the courage to start a verbal spat with the little girl and Lu Yao.

Xiao Feng stood by with a smile, thinking to himself, the little girl and Lu Yao saved Shang Liben. Otherwise, had he spoken, he'd have him doubting his life.

Sure, fists are hard power, but can Shang Liben beat Xiao Feng?

Obviously not.

So the question is, if he can't beat him, what's he so cocky for? Isn't that just being bullheaded?

Shang Liben snorted coldly and stayed in the Jiangcheng camp to continue watching the match. He was holding a grudge, waiting to vent it all out after the competition ended.

"So what if you're snorting, everyone can do that!" The little girl snorted as well and then turned to Lu Yao, "Sister Lu Yao, you should snort back at him too."

"..." Lu Yao.

Between two mountain peaks, Xu Xiaofeng and Wei Shuai led their respective teams in fierce firefights, with both sides getting worked up.

It was only then that Xu Xiaofeng realized the individual combat skills of the Jiangcheng Team weren't lacking; the issue was simply their team coordination. If both sides had equal coordination, the outco could be anybody's guess.
