"Gee up...whoa whoa whoa...giddy up..."

Sun Shijie held a herding whip, driving the flock of sheep forward. There were more than twenty of them, but each looked listless and lacked vitality.

But that couldn't be helped. The sheep had been quite restless upon slling a scent earlier, and were finally cald down before being driven out by Sun Shijie.

Next to him, Xiao Feng suppressed a laugh and said, "I didn't know you had this skill. Did you tend sheep for a landlord when you were young?"

"Haven't eaten pork, but have seen pigs run, haven't I? At my age, besides not keeping up with new things, everything else you learn just by watching," Sun Shijie replied without a trace of humility.

"There's a question," Xiao Feng turned to the main topic: "You don't seem to want to save the daughter of your old friend?"

Sun Shijie didn't answer the question directly. Instead, after a brief pause, he asked, "Can you be sure she's really hurt?"

"Why do you ask?" Xiao Feng questioned curiously.

"Just so old stories, not worth ntioning," Sun Shijie flicked the whip in his hand, producing a loud crack.

Xiao Feng was even more puzzled. Clearly, the other was intentionally hiding sothing but also showing no intention of revealing it. What could be hidden behind this?

With their minds occupied by their own thoughts, the two n drove the flock back, but before long, they saw a "black cloud" rising into the sky, covering an area probably two or three hundred square ters, with an unestimable number.

Xiao Feng and Sun Shijie exchanged glances, simultaneously thinking of three words: Sothing went wrong!

"Gee up, gee up...whoa whoa whoa..."....

Sun Shijie shouted commands that only the sheep understood while furiously waving the whip in his hand, desperately trying to drive them back.

Turning a corner, they saw Zhao Guo'an pushing Shao Wenxing running out, with Su Yuzhuo "driving" the wheelchair behind them.

"Old Xiao!" Upon seeing Xiao Feng, Zhao Guo'an's eyes lit up, then he pointed at the smiling Shao Wenxing in the wheelchair, cursing loudly, "This bastard is a real piece of work, deliberately feeding blood to the bats, and now the situation's out of control!"

Sun Shijie said nothing, his face dark. He urgently poured the prepared poison into the sheep's mouths, seizing the last chance to prepare for confrontation.

Xiao Feng dashed into the courtyard, rescuing Ma Lao'er who had fallen to the ground, and dragged him to the base of a distant tree.

"Giddy up, giddy up... Sis Zhiyan, why is this mule so slow?" A little girl's voice rang out from the corner.

Lin Zhiyan replied, "A mule can't be compared to a horse, it's great it listens to our commands at all."

In the next mont, the little girl driving the cart, along with Lin Zhiyan, Lin Jiaxuan, and Lu Yao, appeared in view. The little girl was holding the reins, acting as the "driver," while the other three sat at the back of the cart.

Behind the mule cart, a dozen cows and sheep were tied to the cart and forcibly dragged along.

It was the special circumstances that allowed them to drive this many animals over; otherwise, it wouldn't have been an easy task.

"Pour in the poison first." Sun Shijie tossed a bottle of mineral water to Xiao Feng, the liquid inside a purple-black color, making it clear it was nothing good at first glance.

But now was not the ti to be concerned about appearances. Whether it looked good or bad wasn't as important as whether it was effective.

The cows and sheep struggled fiercely but were equally helpless, and the scene seed sowhat cruel, reminiscent of a slaughterhouse.

But this was a last resort; it was better than sacrificing human lives.

"It's useless," suddenly spoke Shao Wenxing, pushed out by Zhao Guo'an.

His mouth was bloodied and bruised, clearly beaten, and as for who did it, it was obvious.

"What do you an?" Sun Shijie's actions froze, and he looked sharply at his apprentice, exuding a natural authority.

"Just as you understand , I also understand you. You should know what I an," Shao Wenxing said with a smile, looking directly into Sun Shijie's eyes without flinching.

Sun Shijie frowned for a mont, and with a sudden realization in his voice, asked, "Did you poison the bats?"

In fact, bats themselves carry many viruses, which give them strong resistance to toxins, similar to people who take sleeping pills over ti developing an antibody, rendering the sa dose less effective over ti.

As Sun Shijie finished speaking, the overwhelming swarm of bats finally moved, sweeping across like locusts over a wheat field with a formidable montum!

"Hide!" Xiao Feng shouted, leading everyone to run behind a big tree.

The black mass of bats swooped onto the cows and sheep, the sound of wings flapping mixed with the livestock's cries, an unnerving cacophony that sent shivers down one's spine.

After about half a minute, all the cows and sheep fell to the ground, lifeless, while a closer look revealed the frequency of the bats' wing beats was slowing, like a video being played back several tis slower.

"Snap!"

One bat fell to the ground, and then like dumplings dropping, more bats plumted to the ground, emitting piercing "ji ji ji ji" sounds as they flapped their wings but couldn't fly again.

Not long after, more than half the bats lay on the ground, and those still flying didn't scatter to look for food; they hovered there, waiting for their companions to awaken.

For a mont, everyone's hearts watching this scene seed to leap into their throats. This scene, which should have been relaxing, failed to ease their worries due to Shao Wenxing's earlier words, as if sothing big was about to happen.

Finally, the bats on the ground stopped struggling, apparently neutralized, and the hanging bats no longer presented the sa formidable threat. If they wanted to, these remaining bats could be beaten.

"Do you think it's over?" Shao Wenxing laughed and shook his head, "Wrong, it's just the beginning."

As soon as he finished, the bats on the ground seed to receive so command, each struggling and rising into the air again, albeit weakly, but truly flying again, likely to recover fully soon.

"You bastard!" Zhao Guo'an grabbed Shao Wenxing by the collar, throwing another punch.

"Boom!"

Shao Wenxing was struck, toppling over with the wheelchair, but his smile only grew more unruly.

Xiao Feng glanced at his expression, drawing a conclusion in his heart that this person was sick, and not mildly so.

It wasn't a psychological twist, but rather a near-pathological obsession.
