The immortal sages of human civilization had contributed imnsely to human civilization, enhancing their knowledge base and understanding of the world in one way or another. Even those who weren’t in scientific or technological fields but rely in the field of arts, has left their mark upon human culture.

Alas all of the greatest talents and minds of the human species were constrained by reality.

By the reality of being mortal.

The older they grew, the more feeble their minds beca, their limited lifespan severely limiting the amount of good they could do upon this world. Without the Divine Doctor’s impact on dicine and biotechnology, the Squire Evolution process would still have not been discovered and the Martial Revolution would not have happened.

Without the Psycher, the breakthrough rates to the Master and Sage Realms would be half of what they were right now, and human civilization would have never received the protection of Transcendent Raizel.

And human civilization would be in shambles without the Beggar Sect, and twice as many people would have died in the Beast Incursion. Perhaps the only reason that Martial Masters didn’t enslave normal human beings during the Reign of the Master Realm was because they worked furiously to empower, coordinate, and protect human civilization with a powerful intelligence advantage.

And of course, Martial Art would have never even existed without the Martial exceeding her lifespan long enough to spread Martial Art across the entire continent.

The greats of human civilization had only made these contributions because they were able to exceed their lifespan.

"We need more." The Beggar Sage was clear. "We need immortal sages to erge from the brightest minds of human civilization because we don’t have enough, and we are not making the best of what we have."

Part of it was because of the Beast Incursion having disrupted their systems, but with it gone they now had the opportunities to do so with the current populations of human beings.

"The most important agenda of this eting is... nominations."

The Beggar Sage directed a pointed look across all of them.

"I hope you have them ready. I will begin by going first."

The Beggar Sage waved his hand as an image of an unexpected person appeared.

An elder man in the dusk of his life, having clearly consud at least one life-prolonging potion, donning a formal rchant attire with the crest of the Bradt-Kandria Seafare Distribution Network.

"I nominate Chairman Bradt Patrick," the Beggar Sage continued. "The forr guildmaster of the now-destroyed Shionel Confederation. A man who dominated the distribution sector of our world with a brilliant comrcial strategy that, most importantly, was founded upon an extraordinary understanding of the nature of connection."

The immortal sages of human civilization stirred at the suggestion.

"The reason I nominate him is because of the fact the fact that no one is his equal in the field of networks of distribution, transportation, delivery, and transport," the Beggar Sage continued. "He had an almost genius-level comrcial foresight, is able to almost sll monetary potential, and is one of the most shrewd businessn I have ever seen in my entire life."

His knowing eyes shifted over all the immortal sages and their skeptical expressions.

"I nominate him because human civilization has already begun to move towards an age of collectivization with human civilization tacitly approving the Emperor of Harmony’s collectivist reforms," the Beggar Sage explained. "In order for these projects to succeed, we need the help of Bradt Patrick. There is nobody else on this continent, save for myself, perhaps, who is able to do as good a job as he is, and this despite the gap in our age, experience, and knowledge. Suppose we immortalize him as the Connector. An immortal sage who strengthens the web of human civilization, our probability of survival will rise greatly. Once he returns to his pri in a younger body, he will be able to do wonders for humanity’s strategic outlook."

The immortal sages in the room pondered the thought. Although the final power of approval and denial rested only with the Divine Doctor, the Beggar Sage, and the Psycher, they still placed great weight upon the insights of the other immortal sages who managed to pass this extraordinarily challenging hurdle to beco immortal sages themselves.

"I know Bradt quite well," the Esoterist was the first to respond. "I have worked with him many tis, and I even had a distribution and licensing partnership with the Bradt Distribution Service and the Shionel Confederation. He is very intelligent. Extrely knowledgeable and has profound insight when it cos to distribution and transportation networks, and human civilization will suffer with his death, especially in this age. I second the nomination."

The Esoterist’s perspectives were quite understandable, but they were not shared by everybody.

"I read through the reports you sent to ," the Psycher continued with a tranquil, knowing tone. "And based on his profile, it behooves to disapprove of your nomination of him."

The Beggar Sage raised an eyebrow.

"Your basis?"

The Psycher simply shook his head slowly.

"Unfortunately, he simply isn’t extraordinary enough in my eyes."

His blood-red eyes t the Beggar Sage’s eyes firmly.

"I do not sense a genius-level intellect from him when I go through the footage of him or read through his attached writings or accomplishnts," the Psycher continued with a knowing tone. "This is not to say that he isn’t brilliant, nor to belittle his great accomplishnts and his admirable contributions to human civilization during the Beast Incursion in the form of his seafaring developnt that connected human civilization through the sea, but none of it appears to be enough to make him a genius, in my opinion. At least, this is based entirely on secondhand information. I would need to diagnose his IQ and his G variable personally to map his cognitive endownts accurately, so I take this opinion as only my tentative view on the matter."

The Esoterist frowned on the matter.

"A genius of comrcial success doesn’t manifest the sa way as talent for more narrow fields like psychology or technology. It is a hybrid genius that is an ergent phenonon by many other smaller talents rging together to give him great success."
