The calm winds of March had lulled the large army within the city into a state of laxness.
Today, the soldiers on duty at the city wall suddenly spotted a vast Demon Clan army approaching in the distance. Panicked, they sounded the great bell on the wall.
「A day earlier」
Ever since my dignity was wounded last ti, I’ve been brooding. I’ve never t such a disgusting opponent in all my years of battle, and crucially, I lost! Gabriel was pouring another cup of human blood when Gal entered.
"Stop drinking. The Moluo people are here. Co with and see them," Gal said grimly.
That near-disaster has kept in a foul mood for three months. It was just a routine pre-war attrition tactic, yet I almost capsized the boat!
"They’ve finally arrived!" Gabriel exclaid, tossing the cup in his hand aside with evident relief.
「Gal’s Tent」
The Moluo Clan had sent quite a few people this ti, but only two were to liaise with Gal.
"How did you get in?" Gal asked, shocked as he sensed the cultivation levels of the two before him. Can Demon Generals still enter?
"This is a secret of our clan," Moluo Yuan of the Heavenly Demon Clan, who had Lan Wen on his face, said with a smile.
"And who might this lady be?" Gal asked respectfully, looking at the female Demon Clan mber with a Purple Pattern on her face.
"This is Princess Moluo Shaye. Her Highness has been a bit bored recently and decided to co out for a change of scenery," Moluo Yuan said respectfully.
"You all carry on with your business. I’m just here to look around," Moluo Shaye said, excited as it was her first ti traveling far.
After briefly understanding the situation, Moluo Yuan pondered, "The subordinates I’ve brought include two Mahayana-realm slave troops. Taking the city by force shouldn’t be a major issue."
"Agreed," Gal imdiately consented. Five Mahayana cultivators, three of them Demon Generals. If we still can’t take it down, I should just resign as commander.
After confirming the plan to launch a direct assault early the next morning, the four dispersed.
After splitting up, Moluo Shaye expressed her desire to stroll around, so Moluo Yuan accompanied her for a walk near the camp.
Looking at the bare, black earth, Moluo Shaye was sowhat dissatisfied. "Isn’t the human world said to be beautiful? Why does it look almost the sa as our Demon Abyss?"
Moluo Yuan pointed to a nearby Demon Worm and explained, "It’s because of the Demon Worms. Your Highness knows these creatures will eat anything. This place used to be a green land full of blooming flowers, but the original flowers must have been completely consud by the Demon Worms."
"How annoying! Forget it, I don’t want to stroll anymore," Moluo Shaye said, glancing at the Demon Worm with disgust. With a flick of her delicate white finger, the Demon Worm instantly burst.
"Fire all missiles and explosives!" ordered Chen Jiuge, who had rushed to the city wall upon hearing the bell. Seeing the Demon Clan’s regular army mixed among the Demon Worms and slave troops, he gave the command.
Nurous missiles, trailing flas, rained down into the boundless Demon Tide, causing violent explosions. However, half of them were intercepted by mbers of the Demon Clan who had noticed sothing was amiss.
The one who intercepted the remaining missiles was Moluo Yuan.
The Moluo Clan and the Shajia Clan might appear similar in features, but their statures were vastly different, their bodies being about the size of normal humans. This difference primarily stemd from the Shajia Clan consisting mainly of Earth Demons, while the Moluo Clan were Heavenly Demons.
A new helper? And from the Heavenly Demon Clan? Could one of our fronts have fallen? Chen Jiuge’s heart grew heavy.
Regardless of Chen Jiuge’s thoughts, the Demon Clan had already neared the city wall.
"Co and fight!" Gabriel’s enormous fist swung towards the soldiers on the city wall.
To prevent losses, Chen Jiuge imdiately flew up to block him.
He saw Gal, Gabriel, and another Demon Clan mber he didn’t recognize, with two lower-status Mahayana slave soldiers behind them.
Chen Jiuge’s heart sank. This is trouble.
If these Mahayana cultivators join the battle on the city wall, we’ll probably lose it in no ti. It seems I have to take a bigger risk.
"You two, deal with those two Mahayana cultivators behind them, then co and help ," Chen Jiuge transmitted his voice to the two beasts behind him.
"Sky Blue!"
Innurable vines shot out, attempting to entangle the three Demon Generals. Moluo Shaye, watching the spectacle from the rear, asked in astonishnt, "Is this human planning to challenge three Demon Generals by himself?"
"Such courage," Moluo Yuan praised, a bloody light blooming in his hand.
Demon General was not rely a title of status but a testant to strength. Without sufficient power, a Mahayana cultivator was just that—a Mahayana cultivator, not a Demon General.
Actually, Chen Jiuge was capable of holding off three Demon Generals. It would just an taking more hits. After all, with his Green Vine Immortal Body, recovery wasn’t an issue. Therefore, Chen Jiuge chose the most infuriating fighting style.
He constantly unleashed the Small Divine Power, Sky Blue, at Moluo Yuan. As one of the Seventy-two Small Divine Powers, Sky Blue wasn’t renowned for its power, but that didn’t an it was weak; it was simply used more for support.
Splitting his focus, he controlled Spiritual Energy that manifested as various Spirit Plants to attack Moluo Yuan, while simultaneously trading blows with Gal and Gabriel.
Although his divided attention caused him to be hit every few exchanges, Chen Jiuge was incredibly resilient. The two Demon Generals’ attacks were painful, true, but only painful. He recovered in the blink of an eye.
Seeing Chen Jiuge recover faster than he was injured, Gal imdiately shouted, "Gabriel, hold him!"
Is he going to use a big move? Chen Jiuge was startled.
He tried to stop Gal, but Gabriel, taking two heavy blows head-on, managed to tie Chen Jiuge down.
He watched Gal’s aura surge dramatically, then... it just peaked?
Chen Jiuge looked at Gal, who was seriously exerting his full strength, a little puzzled. This doesn’t feel very dangerous.
Gal, having gathered a massive amount of his blood and qi into his hand, reached back, tore off one of his own wings, and transford it into a Feather Sword.
Ouch! Doesn’t that hurt? Chen Jiuge was dumbfounded by the maneuver. Are the Demon Clan really so destitute they don’t even have weapons?
"Die!" Gal roared, lunging forward with a ferocious expression, only to be instantly bound by the Vajra Lock.
Looking at Gal struggling on the ground, his face flushed red, Chen Jiuge offered a sincere thought of gratitude. It’s all thanks to you that I rembered I still have a Holy Weapon.
"You... you... you!" Gal was so enraged that the backlash from his disrupted blood and qi caused him to spit out a large mouthful of old blood, which flew a great distance.
Seeing Gal completely bound and unable to escape, Chen Jiuge felt quite pleased. I’ve always thought of myself as a Beast Master and completely forgot I had such a trump card.
As a Heavenly Demon, Moluo Yuan had assud that by distracting so of Chen Jiuge’s attention, Gal and the other Demon General could quickly deal with him. He never expected that in the blink of an eye, Gal, who had been preparing a powerful technique, would be instantly taken down. This outco was beyond Moluo Yuan’s expectations.
It seems I’ll have to get serious too. This human’s strength is considerable. I should use my full power and end this quickly.
As Moluo Yuan began to get serious, blue light-flas seeped into his body. A large quantity of blue fire then erupted above his head, creating a dazzling spectacle, though the dangerous aura it exuded steadily intensified.
Feeling the hairs on his skin stand up, Chen Jiuge’s heart pounded. The danger isn’t imnse, but I bet this is going to hurt a lot!
Just as Chen Jiuge tried to dodge, Gabriel, willing to be injured in the process, grabbed him tightly. "Let’s die together!"
A torrential downpour began, and in an instant, both were engulfed by a rain of blue fire.
Feeling the drastically diminished Magic Power within him, Moluo Yuan thought, Whew, that should take care of this troubleso human. I didn’t expect him to be so strong, almost on par with a Great Demon General.
"That really did hurt," Chen Jiuge’s sowhat helpless voice sounded from within the dust and smoke.
He erged, one hand dragging the convulsing, severely burned Gabriel, while his other hand patted out the blue flas still flickering on his own body.
"Are you a monster?!" Moluo Yuan exclaid in shock.
Even if I was slacking off before, I definitely wasn’t this ti! That was my full strength! Why does this human look completely unhard?!
"Actually, I should thank you both," Chen Jiuge said, tossing Gabriel next to Gal, who now resembled a caterpillar. "I never really knew how strong I was. I always thought I was weak, but it seems that’s not the case. So, will you surrender on your own, or do I have to help you?"
Moluo Yuan’s mouth twitched. He then subtly glanced behind him.
Huh? There’s another Mahayana cultivator? Chen Jiuge noticed Moluo Yuan’s movent. Following his gaze, Chen Jiuge spotted a beautiful young woman who didn’t look like a typical mber of the Demon Clan.
