Elves are a type of Lifebound Spiritual Beast, and also a special category of Spiritual Beast. For example, the Plant Elf that Chen Jiuge once asked his mother for is one such type.
The Bloodline of Elves doesn’t have a clear upper limit. As long as one is willing to invest resources, an Elf-type Spiritual Beast can successfully reach the Seventh Rank. Of course, the resources consud in this process are imnse. Without a significant financial foundation, one would naturally not cultivate such Spiritual Beasts.
However, because of this, it is much more difficult for the Bloodline of Elf-type Spiritual Beasts to reach the Immortal Rank than it is for other Spiritual Beasts.
Chen Jiuge accepted this task mainly because, unlike the Plant Elf, the Bloodline of the Fire Elf isn’t particularly pure. This is especially true for the Five Elents Elves, which inevitably contain traces of other Bloodlines. The specific reason was beyond Chen Jiuge’s understanding. Such secrets are not known to those at the Nascent Soul stage.
Indeed, Elf-type Spiritual Beasts are special in another aspect as well. The Golden Finger cannot extract the main Bloodline of the Elf-type, which Chen Jiuge had already tested. Otherwise, Chen Jiuge would have massively cultivated Seventh Rank Bloodline Five Elents Elves and beco enormously wealthy.
However, this task was relatively more dangerous. This couldn’t really be blad on Senior Brother Lin En. After all, Lin En had ntioned it before. Hundred Herbs Peak is the main Inner Sect Mountain for cultivating Spiritual dicine, and the strongest Cultivators there are mostly Spiritual Plant Masters. Spiritual Plant Masters are well-known hobodies who dislike venturing out, so naturally, Senior Brother Lin En couldn’t gather much information.
The Burning Sky Flying Boat of Vermilion Bird Peak was incomparably faster than the leisurely Heavenly Kun. The Array covering the entire Flying Boat was partly designed to prevent the Disciples inside from being injured by the fierce winds, showcasing just how extraordinary its speed was.
Even with such astonishing speed, it still took nearly a month to arrive at Mo Qilin Immortal City. During the journey, Elder Nine employed multiple cross-void teleportations. However, even with the Array’s assistance, guiding such a large Flying Boat was sowhat exhausting, even for a Heavenly Immortal.
After all, the spatial stability of the Heavenly Realm and the fragile spatial barriers of minor worlds were vastly different.
"Is this Mo Qilin Immortal City?" Chen Jiuge remarked, gazing at the majestic city walls, which were clearly visible even from a great distance.
The na Mo Qilin Immortal City wasn’t chosen randomly. The First Senior Brother, as the Sect Master’s Direct Disciple, had already achieved Heavenly Immortal strength and was said to be only a step away from Golden Immortal. The Mo Qilin was one of the First Senior Brother’s Lifebound Spirit Beasts and was said to possess Heavenly Immortal Cultivation.
Due to ongoing construction, the Burning Sky Flying Boat couldn’t dock inside the city. Thus, Chen Jiuge and the other Disciples had to disembark outside and walk in.
As they drew closer, Chen Jiuge observed the Mo Qilin.
Yes, it was the Mo Qilin rumored to have Heavenly Immortal Cultivation.
He looked at the short, small Mo Qilin, which was sitting dejectedly by the city gate with two beautiful Female Cultivators peeling fruit for it.
"Is this the Mo Qilin?" Chen Jiuge asked Lin En beside him, sowhat bewildered.
This Mo Qilin didn’t resemble a Heavenly Immortal expert at all, leaving Lin En himself uncertain. He hesitantly said, "I think so."
At that mont, a Disciple in a bright red Vestnt Robe from Vermilion Bird Peak gave a definitive answer: "This is the First Senior Brother’s Mo Qilin, the Mo Yang Venerable."
Chen Jiuge looked at that Disciple, who was one of those closest to Elder Nine from Vermilion Bird Peak. His certainty about this being the Mo Qilin ans his status and position are definitely not low; he might even be a Direct Disciple of Elder Nine or sothing similar.
Seeing his own Disciples approaching, the Mo Qilin, who had been lazily lying on a chair, suddenly stood up and cleared his throat, preparing to display his majesty before his juniors. But the next mont, upon seeing Elder Nine of Vermilion Bird Peak, his bravado vanished.
Mo Yang said sowhat helplessly, "Why is it you, you old geezer? Where is Wen Lie from your peak?"
After speaking, his tiny body kept darting around, as if he were still searching for Wen Lie.
"Mo Yang, stop ssing around. Wudao Tian left you here because there’s serious business to attend to," Elder Ouyang Xingwen said with a frown.
"I know—it’s just a minor matter I can handle alone. If I weren’t forbidden from harming them, I would have resolved it already. It would only take a bit more ti. Dao Tian sent you all here rely to deal with those people from the Bihai Immortal Sect. I have no idea why they’re making such a fuss—it’s just the Heavenly Fire Marrow, yet they sent a Heavenly Immortal."
"What’s more infuriating is that you Vermilion Bird Peak folks actually sent *you*, and that old fellow Wen Lie didn’t even co," Mo Yang said, sowhat discontentedly.
Ouyang Xingwen couldn’t be bothered with this erratic Mo Qilin and left with a few Disciples from Vermilion Bird Peak.
As Ouyang Xingwen walked away, Mo Yang began to show off again, looking at the new juniors from his sect.
With a small leap, he jumped onto the table where the fruit plate was set, looking down from his perch at Chen Jiuge and the others. "Little fellows, do you know who I am?"
"That’s right! I am your most, most, most adorable Mo Yang Venerable! Now, I am going to pick two lucky ones from among you to beco my Attendants." As Mo Yang spoke, he turned his gaze toward the most beautiful Female Cultivator among the group of Disciples.
Everyone was excited upon hearing the words of the Heavenly Immortal expert, their faces practically screaming, "Pick ! Pick !"
Unfortunately, before Mo Yang could make his choice, a giant, flaming hand materialized inside the city gate and forcefully dragged Mo Yang inside.
"Ouyang Xingwen, you old fogey, let go! How dare you treat the most, most, most adorable Lord Mo Yang this way? You’re done for! AARGH, IT HURTS, IT HURTS! GO EASY ON MY BUTT!"
As Mo Yang’s cries faded, the noble image of the Heavenly Immortal shattered in everyone’s minds.
Chen Jiuge said in a daze, "Is this really First Senior Brother’s Lifebound Spirit Beast? It just feels... a bit too lively."
"Haha, I think so too," Lin En chuckled in agreent.
At this mont, the two Maids who had been serving Mo Yang stepped forward. "Everyone, you should have received your assignnts on the Flying Boat. Please co register now, and soone will guide you to your task locations."
The line was long, but with many people in the Immortal City, it moved quickly. In less than half an hour, it was Chen Jiuge’s turn.
"Fire Elf Cultivation?" the Maid asked, sowhat surprised.
"There are two types of Fire Elf Cultivation tasks. One is to purify the Fire Elf Bloodline; it seems that’s the one you’ve picked. However, your Cultivation is a bit lacking. I suggest you undertake the Fire Elf breeding task instead. It’s safer, and the rit Points aren’t bad either. If a bred Fire Elf shows an increase in Bloodline potential, the rewards and Cultivation rits will be the sa," the Maid recomnded.
"I don’t think I saw that on the task list?" Chen Jiuge asked.
"The Immortal City has just been established, so there are many tasks. What’s listed is only a small portion. So, which one will you choose?" the Maid asked.
Chen Jiuge thought for a mont and chose the Fire Elf breeding task. Since there were rit Points to be gained and the purification benefits were the sa, taking on an additional Fire Elf breeding task would earn him more rit Points. Besides, my Golden Finger is best suited for managing large Spirit Beast Groups.
