Hurrying back to his own small valley, Chen Jiuge couldn’t help but smile as he took out the Spiritual Beast Bag that contained the Plant Elves.
I hope Mom is generous; otherwise, the expansion of the Plant Turtle and Five-Colored Deer breeding program will have to wait, Chen Jiuge mused to himself.
"What? There are so many?" Chen Jiuge was astonished.
Inside the not-so-large Spiritual Beast Bag, he saw it was filled with Plant Elves. Looking at the little creatures sound asleep with sprouts on their heads made Chen Jiuge’s mouth almost twist with laughter.
His Divine Sense swept over them again and again, counting a full hundred Second Rank, thirty Third Rank, and even two Fourth Rank ones. This isn’t just about expanding; I could literally increase the number a hundredfold!
Taking out the Token that controlled this batch of Plant Elves, Chen Jiuge hastily perford a Blood Contract. Feeling the dense array of presences, Chen Jiuge was completely satisfied. (Fortunately, the contract made with Plant Elves wouldn’t occupy much of his Divine Soul, thanks to the function of the Token Magic Artifact.)
Taking out the two Fourth Rank Elves, each with a little flower on its head, Chen Jiuge placed them in his palm to observe. Honestly, the appearance of these little Elves was truly exquisite.
Small enough to fit on half a palm, their bodies were complete with all internal organs, and they even had a pair of semi-transparent wings on their backs. Their delicate faces were captivating. The small white flower on top of each of their heads added a touch of cuteness, while erald green leaves covered their important parts.
AWWOO!
Perhaps Chen Jiuge’s movent had woken the two cuties.
Stretching lazily, the two little Elves weren’t shy at all. They blinked their innocent little eyes, flew in front of Chen Jiuge, and curiously touched his face. Perhaps sensing sothing different about him, the two little ones exchanged soft, cute "EH?" sounds.
Cute little creatures always earned more tolerance. Chen Jiuge smiled, gently tapped the foreheads of the two little Elves, and said, "Alright, little ones, it’s ti to get to work. But before that, I need to give you nas."
One little Elf had a tiny speck of green in the center of its small white flower, while the other’s flower was pure white. After a mont’s thought, Chen Jiuge said, "You’ll be called ’A Bit Green,’ and you’ll be ’Bu Taibai.’"
Looking at the two clueless yet happy-looking little Elves, Chen Jiuge felt a bit sheepish. I just hope you won’t be dissatisfied with your nas when you gain Spiritual Wisdom in the future, he thought.
Taking the two little ones to the area designated for the Plant Turtles, Chen Jiuge first took out all the Plant Elves. Then, he removed all the Second and Third Rank Spirit Grass seeds from his Storage Bag and instructed A Bit Green, "This area is yours to manage. Prioritize sowing this section full; if there’s any excess, you can expand outward."
Upon receiving Chen Jiuge’s orders, the already impatient A Bit Green waved its little hand, leading a large group with Spirit Grass seeds and so of the Second and Third Rank Plant Elves to start planting.
Bu Taibai, not to be outdone, took the remaining Plant Elves and seeds and hurried to catch up.
Watching the Plant Elves work with such enthusiasm, Chen Jiuge smiled with satisfaction. After carefully observing for two hours, he saw the newly planted Spirit Grass had already sprouted. Chen Jiuge sighed to himself, If only Mother had given these Plant Elves earlier, my little valley would have prospered by now!
The previous batch of Plant Elves were only First Rank, with their leader being just a Third Rank Plant Elf. That leader was later recalled, leaving only a few hundred First Rank Plant Elves. Yet, even they managed to support a flock of nearly 2,000 Red Fla Sheep, thousands of Snow Rabbits, and the overly abundant Spiritual Chickens that road the hills.
The thought of Spiritual Chickens brought a particularly dim-witted one into Chen Jiuge’s view.
Watching this Spiritual Chicken leisurely pecking at Spirit Grass, occasionally discovering a Spiritual Insect and hopping about joyfully, Chen Jiuge felt a bit helpless.
There were just too many of them, and they sotis even ate Spirit Grass seeds. He didn’t have enough ti to catch them all. Most crucially, they weren’t worth much. Spiritual Chickens were truly only good for cooking, made into the most basic kind of Spirit Food, and hardly fetched a good price.
Perhaps I should also introduce so carnivorous Spiritual Beasts. As for funds, I’ll use the Crocodragon Bloodline extracted from the Plant Turtles and the eggs of the Qingguang Turtle. The Hundred Spirits Turtle has so Gathering Spirit abilities, so I’ll keep its egg. After it hatches, I can raise it directly in the Plant Turtle area; it might even help accelerate the Plant Turtles’ growth, Chen Jiuge mused.
No sooner said than done. He rode the wind to the Secret Realm. Looking at the three unhatched eggs, Chen Jiuge took out two of them. After a mont’s thought, he also took the Hundred Spirits Turtle’s egg. The Hundred Spirits Turtle was a fairly common Spiritual Beast in the Myriad Beasts Sect and not particularly conspicuous; there was no need for it to hide with these other strange-looking things.
Taking a deep look at the Fire Flood Dragon pecking at the ground, Chen Jiuge beca even more convinced. This creature must not be discovered by others, and I absolutely cannot contract it as a Lifebound Spirit Beast—it’s too detrintal to one’s IQ!
In the short ti it took to grab the eggs, Chen Jiuge discovered that his new friends, A Bit Green and Bu Taibai, seed to have had a falling out. Watching the two groups of Plant Elves planting Spirit Grass far apart from each other and sensing their mutual dissatisfaction, Chen Jiuge felt quite helpless. He knew a bit about Spiritual Beasts, but Plant Elves were a blind spot in his knowledge.
If he didn’t understand, he’d put it aside for now—Chen Jiuge had truly mastered the ’way of the salted fish.’ He took out a Third Rank Defense Magic Array from his Storage Ring and set it up around the three eggs to prevent them from being accidentally damaged by other Spiritual Beasts.
Then, he took out so Communication Stones from his Storage Ring and fell into deep thought.
Xu Tian from the Hundred Flavors Pavilion isn’t quite suitable, nor are so of the shopkeepers in the Immortal City. I’m not selling in large quantities anyway. It’s better to ask a few of my fellow Outer Sect brothers. At least the Alligator Dinosaur material would be very precious to those Outer Disciples who don’t have significant backing, he considered.
After sending a unified ssage to over a dozen Communication Stones at once, he set the matter aside for the ti being.
For now, I’d better search the Myriad Beasts Record to find a suitable carnivorous Spiritual Beast to raise in the valley. It can’t be too strong or too weak, and it must have so value,
The Myriad Beasts Record was the Myriad Beasts Sect’s compendium of Spiritual Beasts, detailing most of the species within the Heavenly Realm. Chen Jiuge hadn’t selected the Spiritual Beasts for his valley based solely on his Golden Finger’s ability. More often, he first identified suitable species in the Myriad Beasts Record, compared them, and finally chose the most appropriate ones to raise.
Shadow Leopard, Boulder Bear, Bloodthirsty Monkey—these three Spiritual Beasts aren’t bad. They aren’t too expensive, and most importantly, the Shadow Leopard’s fur and the Boulder Bear’s paws are quite valuable as high-end ingredients. The Bloodthirsty Monkey, although it doesn’t make Monkey Wine, can brew Blood Wine... It just seems a bit too bloodthirsty,
"Huh? The Myriad Beasts Sect actually has this thing?" Chen Jiuge exclaid, his gaze suddenly fixed on the description of the dicine Snake.
Eats at, has a considerable appetite, can reach Fourth Rank as an adult. Sufficient food and Spiritual Energy can accelerate its growth. Most importantly, every three hundred years, the dicine Snake undergoes a Heavenly Tribulation. If it passes, it breaks through its bloodline limits. Even if it fails, it transforms into an extrely rare Great dicine!
"This is the beast of my dreams! It’s decided then, you’re the one, my dear dicine Snake!" Chen Jiuge declared joyfully.
Overly excited, Chen Jiuge failed to notice the fine print at the very bottom of the dicine Snake’s description: "This beast is pricey. Purchase with caution."
