‘Special agency? Secret mission?’
Captain Su was still trying to make some sense out of what he was told.
He remained doubtful of the claims of that man, but when he took a look at the identification document, he had to admit that it was genuine. In his many years in the police force, he knew that there were secret agencies in the government.
He had heard of the surname Bai before. It was an influential family from the Capital, and they wielded an extraordinary amount of authority.
“Even if he’s on a secret mission, this is a human life we’re talking about! I can’t hand him over to you just like that!” Captain Su hesitated.
“Eh, don’t worry about it, Captain Su! You can safely hand him over to me. You ought to go and get your colleagues to investigate at the hospital. Howard Ma’s death isn’t as straightforward as you think!” The man smiled as he patted Captain Su’s shoulder.
Then, he walked toward Tang Hao.
“Oh, rade Tang Hao! Sorry to make you wait. e, let’s leave this place at once.”
For some reason, he was very happy and eager to see Tang Hao. The smile on his face was genuine.
‘This is the perfect opportunity!’
He heard from Taoist Master Qian Ji that the kid in front of him reached an incredibly high cultivation base at a young age. Furthermore, he knew how to make pills.
According to Taoist Master Qian Ji, pill-makers in the modern world were as rare as giant pandas.
He needed more talented and acplished young people like Tang Hao in his agency!
However, Taoist Master Qian Ji said that the kid was not too keen on joining them.
He wanted to look for Tang Hao to have a chat with him, but he did not find the kid at his apartment. He ran an investigation and found that the kid was arrested and brought to the police station. He was excited when he heard that news and wasted no time going there.
If he could save him from his trouble, then the kid would owe him a huge debt of gratitude. There would be no reason for the kid to reject his offer now!
In his mind, his plan was foolproof.
By then, Tang Hao understood that the person must have been from that supernatural agency.
“e here and uncuff him!”
Director Bai waved at the police officer and got him to open Tang Hao’s handcuffs.
“Don’t worry, rade Tang Hao. I’ll make sure that the police run a thorough investigation and give you a satisfactory explanation. Let’s go out and have a chat!”
Then, he led Tang Hao out of the room.
“Thanks!” Tang Hao said and followed him.
“Oh, this kid…”
Captain Su’s expression was incredulous as he watched the kid leave.
The kid already had a powerful background. Now that he was involved in a secret government agency, there was no limit to what he could achieve!
Once out of the police station, Tang Hao saw a jeep parked at the entrance. Taoist Master Qian Ji hopped out of the vehicle.
“Oh, Fellow Cultivator Tang! You’re finally here!”
“So, rade Tang Hao, are you interested in joining our agency? There’s plenty of benefits. Once you’re part of us, not many people can touch you. You can see how easy we settled your problem today,” Director Bai tried very hard to convince him.
“Well…” Tang Hao hesitated.
The offer was indeed quite tempting.
If not for Director Bai, he would not have gotten off the hook so easily.
“But I don’t have the time though! I’m still a college student!” Tang Hao said.
“That’s easy!” Director Bai said urgently, “You know how to make pills, rade Tang Hao. That makes you a national treasure. We won’t need to dispatch you for any missions on normal days. You just have to make pills for us.
“You can tell me if you need any ingredients, and I’ll prepare them for you. In one month, we only need five, no, three pills from you.”
Tang Hao thought for a while and eventually agreed to it.
Three pills per month was too easy for him. He could also leverage on the Agency’s influence to obtain certain rare medicinal herbs.
