Primrose tilted her head, looking at her husband in confusion. "You? You want to co with to Moonshadow City?"

Actually ... It kind of made sense.

If Edmund wanted to assign soone he trusted completely, soone who was without a doubt the strongest in all of Noctvaris, then the only person who truly t those standards ... was himself.

It might sound a little narcissistic, but it was the truth.

"Yes, ," Edmund replied, his smile slowly fading when he accidentally caught his reflection in the window. "Is that ... a problem?"

"Is it a problem?" Primrose looked at him, slightly concerned. "Your Majesty, I should be the one asking that. Are you sure you’re alright with coming with ? This trip might take several days. What about your work?"

And while they were at it ... what about her work?

Sevrin had just started giving her real tasks bit by bit and even though she was still struggling, that wasn’t the issue.

The real problem was Sevrin wouldn’t be pleased if she left for a trip without finishing her assignnts first.

Originally, she had planned to ask her husband to help handle so of her tasks while she was away, just for a few days.

But if he ca with her ... who would cover her responsibilities?

Worse than that, Sevrin might force her to finish all her assignnts before she even left the palace.

Her head would absolutely explode if she had to compile all the financial reports in such a short ti.

The expenses of the Noctvaris Palace weren’t simple, they ranged from food and supplies to weapons and logistics.

Each category needed to be calculated separately before she could even think about putting the whole report together.

With her current skill level ... how could she possibly finish it all in a week?!

"I can finish all my work in just a few days," Edmund said confidently.

[No, you can’t,] he thought to himself. [I’ve been procrastinating for who knows how long ... now there’s a mountain of paperwork waiting for !]

Primrose furrowed her brows. Edmund’s desk looked strangely neat, not a single paper in sight.

But as her eyes drifted downward, she finally noticed the stacks of docunts hidden underneath the table.

Didn’t he spend almost all his ti in this room? Then how in the world did he still have that much work left?

Then again, how could she judge him?

She couldn’t even finish her own work and hers was far less than his.

She let out a quiet sigh, thinking to herself the people of Noctvaris were cursed, being ruled by a king and queen who both had a bad habit of procrastinating.

"Are you really sure about this?" Primrose asked again, trying one last ti to shake Edmund’s determination to join her.

However, Edmund nodded right away without thinking too long.

"I’m sure," he said. Then, with a softer voice, he added, "I don’t think I’d be able to sleep peacefully if I let my wife travel alone."

[The road is too dangerous for her to go by herself. If anything bad were to happen to her ... I’d never forgive myself.]

[But if she insists on not letting co, then I’ll just follow her in secret.]

Oh.

Primrose went silent for a mont, her thoughts drifting deeper.

Now that she thought about it ... could it be that Edmund had followed her before when she traveled back to her holand in her first life?

If she rembered correctly, one of the knights who saved her had covered his face with a black mask.

Unlike the others, he had always stood the closest to her. And his body ... It looked so much like Edmund’s.

His height ... if she wasn’t mistaken, her head only reached his neck.

She lifted her face, studying her husband quietly.

Surprisingly, his height matched exactly with the masked knight she rembered.

Primrose bit her inner lip, suddenly feeling frustrated with herself.

Why hadn’t she realized it sooner?

Her husband had been protecting her all along, even from the shadows.

However, when she returned from that failed trip, she had completely shut him out.

She didn’t even rember clearly why she was so upset with him—oh, wait.

If her mory hadn’t faded too much, she thought it had sothing to do with him saying, "You should have stayed ho."

Yes, that was it. That one sentence had ruined her mood completely, making her feel hurt and irritated.

At the ti, his words had sounded so cold, so dismissive, like he was blaming her for leaving the palace.

But now ... thinking back on it ...

Maybe he wasn’t trying to scold her. Maybe he had just been scared, terrified of sothing happening to her.

Sadly, because he didn’t know how to express that fear, it ca out the wrong way.

"Wife?" Edmund called gently, pulling her back from her thoughts. "Do you ... not want to co with you?"

Snapping out of her daze, Primrose suddenly reached for his sleeve, holding onto it tightly as she looked up at him.

"I’ll ask you one more ti," she said softly. "Are you sure you want to follow to Moonshadow?"

Edmund nodded without hesitation. "I’m sure."

"Alright," she sighed, giving in. "You can co with . But ... when I et Lady Raven, I want to speak with her alone. Can you do that?"

Edmund nodded again. "That’s not a problem, my wife."

Honestly, even if Primrose had refused him, she had a strong feeling he would’ve followed her in secret anyway.

So in the end, she decided it was better to let him co openly.

Besides ... wasn’t it kind of nice? They had never gone on a honeymoon before.

So maybe, this trip could be their first.

So of the maids from Moonshadow had ntioned that the city was a popular vacation spot for nobles who wanted a break from the busy capital.

It was surrounded by greenery and peaceful views, perfect for people who wanted to relax without going deep into the forest.

Should she tell Edmund that she wanted this to be their honeymoon?
