"I don’t know what’s wrong with , Edmund." She swallowed hard, and then the tears she had been holding back for days finally fell. "But I’m so scared. I want it to stop, but I can’t. What should I do? I don’t kn—"

But before she could finish, Edmund pulled her into his arms.

He didn’t say anything sweet or poetic. He didn’t try to fix it with promises or pretty words. All he said was, "I’m here."

And sohow, it was exactly what she needed.

Her husband was here, holding her like he’d never let go.

Like her pain was his own, and he’d carry it if she couldn’t.

No matter what she had been through, no matter how broken she felt, Edmund wasn’t going anywhere.

His presence alone ... was enough.

"I’m here," he repeated, gently this ti. "We’ll get through this together."

Primrose buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking through his shirt, but he didn’t move. He just held her tightly, tenderly, like she were the most precious thing in the world.

"But I’m not strong like you," she whispered.

Edmund rested his chin on her head and said softly. "But you’re not weak either."

"There’s no such thing as a weak person who survives a tiger beast attack.

And here you are, my wife. You are still standing. Still breathing. Still here."

"It was just a coincidence," she replied quietly. "If he hadn’t suddenly lost his mind ... I’d probably be dead by now."

Edmund loosened his embrace just enough to look at her face. "No, Primrose," he said. "It wasn’t a coincidence."

"You were the one who made him lose his mind."

Primrose furrowed her brows, genuinely confused about it.

For the past few days, she had been thinking about the sa thing. She wondered how it was possible for a tiger beast to suddenly want to kill himself just because she asked him to.

At that mont, Primrose didn’t hear a single thought in his mind, except for one. "She asked to die ..."

He kept repeating it, again and again, like a chant stuck in his head.

"How is that possible?" Primrose whispered. "I don’t even have magic."

Edmund didn’t answer right away. He just looked at her for a mont before finally speaking. "One of my royal knights is an expert in magic and spells," he said gently. "When he examined that man’s body, he found traces of magic residue. Specifically ... in his brain."

Primrose blinked several tis, tilting her head in confusion. "His brain? But ... I didn’t do anything to his brai—"

She stopped mid-sentence.

Sohow, deep down, she had a feeling this had sothing to do with her mind-reading ability. After all, she was the one who told Thevan to join his brother, just monts before he smashed his head with a rock.

"Maybe ... I really did do sothing," she whispered, her voice shaking slightly. Before she could stop herself, she had already said it out loud. "I told him to join his brother," she repeated, eyes looking away. "I told him to kill himself."

If she really was the reason Thevan wanted to die, then didn’t that an she could not only read people’s minds, but also control them?

But how? How could Primrose do sothing like that? She hadn’t spoken any spells or even thought about controlling soone’s mind.

The only thing she had truly wished for at that mont ... was for Thevan to die.

That was all.

Suddenly, Primrose heard Edmund’s mind. [Before I married my wife, I heard that she didn’t have any magic energy inside her body and that she was just an ordinary human.]

[I also felt that she had no magic energy at all when we first t. That’s why I was afraid I might be too much for her.]

[But ... on our wedding night, I suddenly felt a small trace of magic inside her body. It was extrely faint and almost unnoticeable. I wasn’t even sure if it really was magic energy or not.]

It seed like her body started to develop magic energy after her soul from the other tiline entered her current body.

Not only that, the fact that she suddenly gained a mind-reading ability also remained a huge mystery in her mind.

[I only beca truly sure that she had magic in her body after our mating session.]

Primrose twitched her eyes slightly at the word "mating session"—a term she hadn’t heard in a long ti.

But she pushed the thought aside. There were more important things to talk about now.

"Husband," Primrose called, wiping away the tear stains on her cheeks. "Can I et the royal knight? I want him to examine too."

Edmund looked into her eyes. "Of course." He gently wiped the tears from her cheeks. "Would you like to talk in a more comfortable place? The greenhouse, maybe?"

Primrose gave a small nod. "But ... can I wash my face first before I et anyone? I must look awful right now."

"Nonsense." Edmund cupped her face with both hands. "My wife never looks awful."

Then, before she could say anything, he smiled and added, "But if you’ll feel better after freshening up, take your ti. We’ll wait for you."

Primrose smiled softly. "You’ll stay with , right?"

Edmund nodded. "Of course."

[She’s still not emotionally stable. There’s no way I’ll leave her alone with another man. Even if it’s the royal knight, it’s better if I stay with her.]

Primrose didn’t mind her husband following her around for a few days. After all, Edmund was the only person she could truly trust in the entire kingdom.

After asking the maids to help her remove her gown, Edmund escorted Primrose all the way to the front of her bedroom.

It was a little silly, honestly. Her bedroom was just a few steps away.

Still, she didn’t stop him. She kind of liked having him close.

When they reached her door, she turned to him with a small smile.

"You can wait for in the greenhouse," she said softly. "Lady Solene will be back soon. She can walk there."

Edmund nodded, his fingers gently brushing through her hair. "Then I’ll see you soon, my wife," he said, his voice warm and full of affection.
