Primrose sat gracefully before him, lowering her head and clutching her fan tightly.

"Did I ... do sothing wrong today, Your Majesty?" Her voice was soft, hesitant, like she was barely holding back her distress.

She brought a delicate hand to her lips, her eyes widening as if she had just realized sothing devastating. "I-Is it because ... I wasn’t good enough for you last night?"

[WHAT?! NOT GOOD ENOUGH?!]

[WIFE, YOU WERE PERFECT!]

Edmund’s frown deepened. "Why would you even think that?"

"You’re speaking to so coldly ..." she whispered softly. "I just thought ... maybe you were disappointed. Maybe you regretted it."

She paused for a mont, sighing as if she was holding back her tears. "Or maybe ... maybe you’re mad at for ... dirtying your bed."

She let out a dramatic sigh before lightly knocking herself on the head with her fan, a pitiful attempt at self-punishnt.

"I’m so sorry for my bad behavior last night." Another light bonk on the head. "I promise ... I’ll never dirty your bed again."

Her voice trembled, as if she had just vowed to abandon sothing precious.

anwhile, Edmund sat frozen, completely and utterly bewildered. His grip on his teacup slackened as her words sank in.

[S-She doesn’t want to sleep in my bed again?!]

[But ... but she said we could do it again next ti!]

[This is my fault! I made my wife sad! I deserve to be thrown into a pit of fire!]

Edmund cleared his throat, sitting up straighter, desperately trying to soften his tone so he wouldn’t sound so cold.

"You can ... dirty my bed every night."

Primrose’s eyes widened for a split second, completely caught off guard.

Did he ... really just say that?

Wow. What a pervert.

[...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, EDMUND?!]

[That sounded way worse!]

[Now she definitely thinks I’m a depraved beast!]

He cleared his throat again, gripping his teacup like his life depended on it. "I an ... I’m sorry for speaking so coldly to you." He quickly averted his gaze, his voice quieter. "I just ... didn’t know what to say when you ca here."

Now that was progress!

He really needed to start clarifying every cold or ridiculous thing he said.

Lucky for him, Primrose could read his mind now.

Otherwise, their marriage would fall apart—for a second ti—not because of so grand betrayal, but simply due to a tragic case of miscommunication!

"Then ... did I do well last night?" Primrose asked, this ti genuinely embarrassed.

Edmund didn’t hesitate. "You were great."

Primrose felt her cheeks heat up. That was ... unexpectedly sweet.

But then he ruined it.

"I thoroughly enjoyed our mating session."

Primrose’s smile froze. Mating session?

She resisted the urge to throw her fan at his face. Did he have to make it sound like they were two wild animals breeding in the woods?

Sure, he was a beast, but she was one hundred percent human!

Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she lowered her fan just enough to glare at him. "Then why," she said slowly, "did I wake up in a completely different room?"

She kept her voice sweet, but the sarcasm dripped like honey laced with poison. "Did I disgust you so much that you couldn’t bear to share a bed with after we engaged our sacred bond?"

Edmund nearly choked on his tea. "What? No!"

[Disgusted?! How could she even think that?!]

Even if the bed was a ss, they could have just moved to another room and slept together. But no, he had completely ditched her, sending her off to sleep alone like so discarded accessory.

She had even asked one of the maids to be sure. And, surprise, surprise—Edmund had bolted from her chamber the mont he set her down on the bed.

"I just—" He paused, looking uncomfortable, as if he had been caught committing a cri. "I thought you’d sleep better on your own."

[I didn’t want you to feel cramped sharing a bed with !]

Cramped? Yeah, right. Like that would ever happen.

The bed in Edmund’s chamber—or any room ant for royalty, for that matter—was massive.

You could fit six people on it, and there would still be room to roll around!

"But, Your Majesty," Primrose let out a dramatic sigh, "you’re making look bad."

"If you leave to sleep alone after consummating our marriage, people will think you see as nothing more than a bed warr."

She sniffled, just enough to make it seem like she was on the verge of tears.

"Not that I mind if that’s truly how you see ," she murmured, her lashes fluttering as if she were bravely fighting back tears. "But still ... it hurts to think you only want for my body."

She pressed a hand to her chest as if trying to soothe her aching heart.

anwhile, Edmund looked like he was about to drop dead from sheer panic.

[I MADE MY WIFE SAD AGAIN!]

[What do I do?! Should I kneel? Beg for forgiveness? Offer her my kingdom?]

A little excessive? Maybe. But honestly, Primrose wouldn’t mind watching him grovel a bit.

Unfortunately, Edmund was far too socially inept to even say sothing remotely romantic, let alone drop to his knees in front of her.

"I—I’m sorry," he blurted out, looking anywhere but at her. "I didn’t think through the consequences of my actions properly."

Yes, this was how he should be.

Obedient. Apologetic. A husband who knew when he ssed up and actually admitted it.

She didn’t expect that train the Lycan King was this easy.

"I forgive you." Primrose smiled, resting her palm gently over his hand. "But next ti, if you’re going to make a crucial decision, maybe you could ask for my opinion first? Can you do that, Your Majesty?"

Edmund didn’t answer right away. His gaze had drifted downward, his entire focus locked onto her hand.

"I can do that," he spoke absentmindedly.

[Her hand ... Last night, she held my hand like this too. And then scratched my back with her tiny nails]

Primrose’s cheeks turned red. mories of the previous night flashed through her mind in vivid detail.

The way she had clung to him. The way she had trembled beneath his touch. The way he had filled her honeypot over and over again—

STOP. STOP. STOP IT.

Primrose nearly slapped herself just to get rid of the sudden heat creeping up her face, but she managed to hold back. She wasn’t about to embarrass herself in front of Edmund.

Instead, she slowly pulled her hand away, trying to regain so sense of composure.

But before she could escape, sothing unexpected happened.

He held her hand.

HE. HELD. HER. HAND.

Primrose froze. Did he even realize what he was doing? Because not only was he holding her hand, but he was also gently brushing his thumb over her skin.

[So soft. I’ve never touched anything this soft before.]

[Her skin is always so smooth, especially her breas—]

"Your Majesty," Primrose cut in before his thoughts could spiral into dangerous territory. She tilted her head with a sweet, knowing smile. "May I drink my tea now?"
