"Let’s say... I have a way," Primrose said carefully. "Would you still be willing to help Hazelle?"

Raven blinked in confusion. "Your Majesty ... didn’t you hear what I said earlier? We can’t—"

"Just assu I can get the secret words," Primrose interrupted firmly. "Don’t worry about the how. Just answer my question."

Raven still looked hesitant, her brows slightly furrowed. But finally, she nodded and said, "Yes. I’m willing to help her, Your Majesty."

Primrose gave a small nod. "Good. That’s all I needed to hear." She placed her fingers against her chin, her mind working quickly. "Now listen carefully. I want everything to be over by tomorrow. I really can’t stand seeing his face any longer."

Every ti she saw Silas, the first thing that hit her was how much she had trusted him in the past, and every ti, it made her skin crawl.

How could she have trusted that snake before?

Just thinking about his betrayal made her stomach turn. She didn’t want to hear his voice or even be in the sa room with him anymore.

Silas truly needed to leave the palace as soon as possible.

"The plan is actually pretty simple ..."

Primrose then laid out everything they needed to do the following day. She just hoped her body would hold up because she would need every bit of strength to pull it off.

But in her careful planning, she’d forgotten one important factor.

Her husband.

"No," Edmund said firmly. "Why do you want to et Dr. Silas in the greenhouse? You could just ask him to co to your room."

Primrose let out a soft sigh and gently rubbed her temple. "Because... I’m tired of being stuck in bed since yesterday. I want to breathe in so fresh air at the greenhouse."

"Besides that, I also need to speak with Dr. Silas about a few things," she added. "Nothing serious. Just small talk."

"No," Edmund repeated, his voice still firm. "The greenhouse is too far. I don’t want you to go through all that discomfort just to see him, my wife."

Primrose hadn’t expected her husband to be so stubborn. She was used to him always trying to understand her, but today, he wasn’t giving her any room to argue.

To be honest, the real reason she wanted to speak with Silas in the greenhouse was because she needed a peaceful, neutral space—sowhere calming and less suspicious—so Silas would be more relaxed and possibly leave Hazelle’s side for a little while.

If she invited him to her room, he’d probably just check on her quickly and leave. It’s not like she could casually invite him to have tea in her bedroom, it would be weird and inappropriate.

"If you’re bored," Edmund said, his tone softening, "I can ask the maids to bring you more books, sothing light and fun. Or ... I can bring you anything you want."

He knelt beside her, his voice gentle, and there was a flicker of guilt in his eyes. "But if you really want to go to the greenhouse, then let take you myself later. You don’t need to be alone with Dr. Silas."

It was obvious he wasn’t trying to control her for no reason. He just wanted to protect her, and Primrose understood that.

[There’s sothing off about that doctor. Like hell I’d let my wife spend that much ti alone with him while I’m gone.] Edmund thought grimly. [Tch. These rogue werewolves are seriously testing my patience.]

Just yesterday, after Edmund and his n went to scout the forest near the palace, and they encountered a large group of rogue werewolves lurking in the area.

Their presence wasn’t random, it was deliberate. They had co with one goal in mind: to take the palace from the Lycan King.

It wasn’t the first ti sothing like this had happened.

In fact, it was almost a routine by now. Every year, at least four major attacks were launched by beasts or rogue factions trying to seize control of the palace.

But this ti ... the timing couldn’t have been worse.

Edmund hadn’t expected an attack to happen right when his wife was sick.

Worse than that, the rogue werewolves this ti weren’t just scavengers or reckless rebels.

They were coordinated, fast, and more ruthless than the groups he had dealt with before. Their formation was tighter, their traps more calculated, and their weapons were enchanted with dark magic.

Worse, he had only driven them back temporarily.

He knew he had to return soon to finish what he started, or they’d regroup and strike again, this ti more viciously.

That’s why Edmund had to patrol outside the palace with his soldiers for several days, just to make sure no rogue werewolves would slip through and threaten the safety of the palace.

But still, how was he supposed to leave his sick wife behind?

[This is the second ti I’ve left my wife while she’s sick?!] Edmund was furious with himself. [What kind of husband does that?!]

To be fair, the first ti Primrose got sick in this lifeti, he had only left after making sure her fever had gone down. He wouldn’t have left if she hadn’t looked better.

So no, Edmund wasn’t the kind of man who would just turn his back on his wife. Even now, the only reason he was leaving was to protect her. If rogue werewolves caused trouble near the palace again, she might be in danger, and he couldn’t allow that.

"But I don’t know when you’ll be back," Primrose said quietly, her voice tinged with frustration. "I’m bored now, not later."

She looked up at him with soft eyes, almost pleading. "Please ... I promise I’ll only stay in the greenhouse for a little while. As soon as I’m done, I’ll co straight back to my room."

Edmund let out a long sigh, running a hand through his hair as he looked at her.

"I can understand if you want to spend your day in the greenhouse," Edmund said seriously, "but why do you also want to invite Dr. Silas for your afternoon tea?"

He glanced at the clock a few tis because he needed to leave soon. "You can ask anyone else to keep you company, so why him of all people?"
