Primrose’s entire mood instantly brightened when Edmund allowed the soldiers to eat their lunch and decided to spare so ti to have lunch with her.

"Say ’ah’ ...." Primrose held out a big, at-filled sandwich toward Edmund’s mouth.

She half-expected him to turn away, perhaps too shy to let his wife feed him in front of his soldiers. But to her surprise, he leaned forward and opened his mouth right away, without hesitating or seeming embarrassed.

[My wife wants to feed with her own hands!] Edmund’s heart swelled with joy. [She wants to spoil ... my wife truly loves !]

[Did she even ask the cooks to make this sandwich just for ? There aren’t any vegetables in it!] he thought happily, once again forgetting that Primrose could hear him. [My wife is so thoughtful.]

Primrose blinked in surprise when he ate half of the big aty sandwich in a single bite, but Edmund’s joyful eyes made her forget about his ridiculously big bite.

She even began to imagine a dog’s tail wagging behind him, like a puppy who had just spotted its beloved owner in the middle of the park.

[Is ... is that really our king? The sa man who used to roar at us like a demon earlier?]

[Why does he suddenly look like a giant puppy waiting for belly rubs?]

[What’s next ... will he start chasing a ball if Her Majesty throws one?]

Primrose frowned slightly as she picked up on the soldiers’ ridiculous thoughts, though a small part of her wanted to laugh too.

No matter how anyone looked at it, Edmund’s behavior around Primrose was nothing like the man he was when alone or drilling the new soldiers.

So it was no surprise that people were always left stunned. Besides, who would have thought that the fierce, terrifying king could turn into a gentle giant who looked completely harmless?

"Eat slowly," Primrose said softly, brushing the crumbs from the corner of his lips with her fingertips. "I brought more sandwiches for you."

After swallowing his food, Edmund said calmly, "I’m eating slowly."

Slowly? Primrose almost choked on air. How could biting half of a giant sandwich in one go possibly be called slow eating?

The thing was so big she had to hold it with both hands, yet he devoured it like it was nothing.

"Why aren’t you eating too?" Edmund asked, his gaze dropping to the basket on the table between them. When he noticed a smaller sandwich filled with vegetables and at, he pointed at it. "Is this yours?"

[Can my wife really get enough energy with such a tiny piece of at?] Edmund worried. [No ... did she give her portion just so I could have more—]

"Husband," Primrose interrupted quickly before his thoughts could spiral further. "My stomach hurts if I eat too much at. That’s why I have to eat it with vegetables."

Edmund blinked for a mont, then finally realized she wasn’t a carnivorous beast that could devour piles of at in one sitting.

[I must look like a greedy beast in her eyes.]

Primrose nearly choked on air. How could her husband manage to overthink everything, even sothing as simple as their al portions?

"I’m not thinking that at all." she assured him, brushing away his worries with ease. "Of course you should eat more than . You fight a lot and do more physical work than I do, while I don’t. When I have more activities, I also eat more."

"Oh, I ... I’m sorry for thinking too much." Edmund lowered his head, whispering, "I’m truly trying not to dwell on negative thoughts, but ... it’s so hard, my wife."

[I used to bang my head against the wall whenever I thought too much, but it never worked.] He turned his eyes aside, avoiding her gaze. [I truly don’t know how to stop these thoughts.]

Lately, Edmund had tried so hard to stop the flood of dark thoughts in his mind, but no matter how much he tried to distract himself, they always ca back.

Primrose knew that everyone had bad thoughts in their head, but in Edmund’s case ... there were far too many. Even the smallest things could turn into sothing negative in his mind.

If his filtered thoughts were already this much, Primrose couldn’t imagine what about everything his wolf kept hidden?

He must have been suffering terribly all this ti, carrying so much negativity, and yet, what hurt him more was the fear that his thoughts might one day beco a burden to his wife.

Well, yes, sotis it did trouble her, but what worried her most was him.

Edmund had probably never truly enjoyed life because those dark thoughts weighed him down so much. But that was no surprise, given that his childhood was filled with blood and violence, not to ntion the painful mories of his first life.

Primrose had once heard that overthinkers could ease their chaotic minds by pouring their thoughts into a diary, but Edmund had already done that. He even admitted to having dozens of diaries in his office, and still, it hadn’t helped much.

[What if one day my wife grows tired of hearing my thoughts?] Edmund’s mind raced so fast Primrose almost couldn’t keep up. [What if she gets fed up and regrets ever asking to sleep in the sa room—]

Before his mind could sink deeper, Primrose leaned in and pressed her lips softly against his.

Edmund blinked in surprise, frozen in place as her lips brushed against his. For a heartbeat, his mind went completely blank and the storm inside him swept away by that single, gentle kiss.

When she pulled back, Primrose smiled brightly. "It worked!" she said with enthusiasm. "How about ... every ti you start overthinking, I’ll just kiss you?"

It might not have been a long-term solution, but at least for a mont, Edmund was able to rest his mind completely.

Primrose honestly wanted to try it, because she had noticed that every ti they made out or kissed passionately, Edmund’s mind usually went completely blank, or if he did think, his thoughts were nothing but shalessly perverted things about her.

Well, perverted thoughts were still much better than dark, negative ones. Besides, as long as those thoughts were reserved only for his wife, Primrose didn’t mind at all.
