Even though he said it was for himself, Primrose knew he really just wanted to get her away from Garrick, so she wouldn’t have to keep hearing the filth inside his head.

"Alright," Primrose sighed. "Let’s get so fresh air."

"Your Majesty, where are you going?!" Garrick shouted when he saw them leaving the dungeon. "Your Majesty, why won’t you release ?! Listen to , you’ll regret this! The King of Nerathis will co looking for !"

Primrose shrugged as she walked toward the door. "He won’t. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re back on the streets before anyone even notices you are gone."

"What?!" Garrick yelled. "That doesn’t make sense! People will know I’m missing! They’ll kno—"

Primrose could no longer hear him once Edmund closed the dungeon door. Thankfully, her father had built it to be completely soundproof.

"Your Majesty, are you alright?" Callen, who stood guard outside, imdiately asked when he saw how pale she looked.

"Could you bring her so water?" Edmund said.

Callen didn’t ask any questions. He simply hurried away to get it. anwhile, Edmund gently guided Primrose to sit in a chair Callen had prepared in case she ever felt tired.

"Are you alright?" Edmund knelt in front of her and took her hands. "Do you want to tell what you heard?"

Primrose swallowed hard, then slowly nodded. Bit by bit, she told him everything she had heard inside Garrick’s mind, and the longer she spoke, the darker Edmund’s expression beca.

"That bastard," Edmund growled under his breath, his jaw tight with anger. He was already thinking of killing Garrick rather than letting him speak another word. His hatred was so strong that he could barely hide it from Primrose.

"I know so people can be rotten," Edmund said quietly, "but this man isn’t just rotten, he reeks of it."

Primrose let out a tired sigh. Her eyes were filled with sadness as she looked at him. "If soone like him is already this disgusting... then what about the people above him? Like King Averon."

She still didn’t know whether the King of Nerathis was directly involved, but so far, Garrick hadn’t thought anything about him.

"And he also said they locked the children underground." Primrose clicked her tongue in frustration. "That could be anywhere."

Most buildings in Azria had basents, because storms could get really bad. Which ant the children could be hidden beneath almost any building.

"There are a lot of big buildings here," Primrose continued. "But I’m thinking... maybe the building aboveground is small, while the real place—the big one—is underground. I don’t know if that even makes sense."

"It makes perfect sense," Edmund replied. "Sotis the best way to hide sothing is to keep it in plain sight, and then hide the real room beneath it."

"So for now, we just need to find out where that place is," Edmund said. "Alright. I’ll try to get the answer from him."

"Now?" Primrose looked up at him as he stood. "I still feel a little dizzy. Can we do it... maybe fifteen minutes later?"

But deep down, she knew the dizziness didn’t co from her mind-reading ability. It was because Garrick’s thoughts had been so filthy and sickening that her head was still spinning.

"It’s alright," Edmund said gently. "I’ll question him alone. You can rest here."

"Wait, wait, are you planning to torture him? My father told you not to do that!" Primrose said. "Besides, if you hurt a human, they can’t heal like beastkins do. People will notice easily."

"They won’t," Edmund replied softly as he brushed her hair back and guided her to sit again. "Sir Vesper gave a very effective dicine for human injuries. Of course, I won’t cut off any limbs because the dicine can’t replace anything that’s gone. But I can still... work around that."

"But the blood will stain the dungeon," Primrose said. "I don’t want my father to scold you again."

At first, Edmund thought Primrose objected because she felt pity toward humans. But soon, he realized sothing else, she was actually more worried about the dungeon getting dirty.

"I promise I’ll clean the dungeon until it’s spotless," Edmund said gently. "Your father won’t notice a thing."

Primrose still looked a little unsure, but since her husband sounded so certain, she finally nodded. "Alright. But don’t let him lie to you."

"He wouldn’t dare," Edmund replied with a soft smile before leaning in to kiss her. "Alright. I’ll go back inside in an hour. Just stay here with Callen, okay?"

Primrose nodded. "Okay."

Right after Callen returned with a glass of water and a small basket of cookies for her, Edmund stepped back into the dungeon. He closed the door firmly, then sealed it with magic so no sound could escape.

"You’re... not going in as well, Your Majesty?" Callen asked curiously.

Primrose shook her head. "No. My husband will take care of the rest."

Callen quickly brushed the thought aside. He was already used to seeing Edmund speak with prisoners. Honestly, he still didn’t understand why Primrose had been eting so many terrible people lately.

It really wasn’t good for her, or for the baby growing inside her.

[Maybe Her Majesty just doesn’t want to stay too far from His Majesty,] Callen thought.

[But still... her health and peace of mind are more important. Since she won’t be going back into the dungeon, I guess I should keep her company. That way, she won’t feel tempted to talk to bad people anymore!]

"So, Your Majesty, would you like to hear so gossip?" Callen suddenly asked.

Primrose’s eyes imdiately brightened. "Oh? What is it?"

"I think Marielle is quite popular among the human n," Callen began with interest. "Ever since we arrived here, I’ve heard the guards saying she looks really cute..."

And while Primrose was happily enjoying the gossip, inside the dungeon Garrick was busy facing sothing far less pleasant; the fury of the Lycan King.

Inside the dungeon, Garrick’s screams echoed helplessly against the stone walls, though no sound could escape beyond the sealed door.
