She hadn’t given him a proper wedding kiss, so she thought to herself, ’Why don’t we just have our second wedding night instead?’

Their first wedding night had been a disaster, Edmund had run away from her chamber, leaving her alone with a desire that didn’t go away, even after she tried to pleasure herself for hours.

Maybe this ti, they could turn that awful mory into sothing worth rembering.

"Husband?" Primrose blinked up at him, locking eyes with Edmund. He had gone quiet for a while, and even his inner thoughts were as silent as the night. "Why aren’t you saying anyth—"

Before she could finish, Edmund suddenly got up from the bed.

’Don’t tell he’s running away again! Why now?!’

But instead of heading for the door, Edmund pulled the blanket aside and reached beneath the bed. He took out a folded piece of fine leather mat and without saying a word, carefully spread it across the bed.

Then he turned to her with a straight face. "The bed is ready, wife."

[This way, my wife won’t have to worry about dirtying the bed anymore!] He thought proudly.

Primrose was stunned. She sat at the edge of the bed, blinking in surprise. She hadn’t expected him to pull a move like that.

"This ... this is good," she said with a nervous laugh, patting the leather mat a few tis to check if the material was actually waterproof. "You ca prepared."

Edmund’s lips curled into a little smile. "Let’s begin our second mating session, wife."

A vein popped on Primrose’s forehead. She took a deep breath, gripping the edge of the mattress tightly as she resisted the very strong urge to throw a chair at him.

"Husband," Primrose called out in a soft, almost sweet voice. A smile slowly spread across her face, the kind of smile that, for so reason, sent a chill down Edmund’s spine.

"If you say those words one more ti ..." she warned gently, "I’ll be mad."

And honestly ... she might even consider chopping off his manhood.

"W-What words, wife?" Edmund looked genuinely panicked. He was clearly trying to figure out which part of what he said had landed him in danger.

Primrose stepped closer, lifting her chin so he could see her expression clearly. Her smile didn’t fade. If anything, it deepened, which sohow made it worse.

"Mating session," she said, keeping her voice calm. "Where I co from, if a man says that to a woman, he deserves a slap on the face."

Edmund’s eyes went wide in shock. [Did I really ss up that badly?!]

"I-I didn’t know," he stuttered, stepping back without thinking as Primrose moved in closer. He looked like a cornered puppy afraid of getting scolded by a tiny but fierce bunny.

Then, more hesitantly, he asked, "What ... what should I say instead?"

At least he asked because it had saved him from a full-blown lecture.

"In my holand," Primrose began, tilting her head slightly, "we call it making love. Or, if you want to be cheeky ..."

She leaned up on her tiptoes, brought her lips close to his ear, and whispered, "Making a baby."

"B-Baby?" Edmund choked, his whole body stiffening as his back bumped into the wall behind him.

[My wife wants to have a baby with ?]

Wait, didn’t she say a baby? Just one? Or ... how many was she thinking of?

[I never dared to hope she’d want children with ,] he thought, heartbeat racing.

[But if she does ... then actually ... I want ten.]

Ten?!

Primrose’s eye twitched.

Oh no.

Now she wanted to slap him or better yet, chop sothing off to make sure there’d be no eleventh.

[But ... she’s human. That would be too much for her body. Maybe three is enough—No, what am I even thinking?! This isn’t my decision to make!]

[The only thing I contribute to making a baby is my dick. I don’t have the right to decide how many children she should have.]

Primrose’s desire to chop off his manhood instantly vanished, replaced by a strange warmth and a little heartache.

How could a man even think like that?

Even though she didn’t want ten babies either, a part of her had always assud that Edmund wouldn’t care about her in this matter and that he’d decide everything on his own, just like most n did.

After all, it was considered normal for a husband to decide how many children a couple should have. Especially in her world, where a man needed many heirs to continue the family bloodline.

That was why so many people pitied her father because he only had one child, and that child was her. They constantly pushed him to remarry or take a mistress so he could have a son. But he never listened.

He would just look at Primrose with calm eyes and say, "There’s no point wasting ti on people who talk nonsense."

And now, standing in front of Edmund, who looked like he was overthinking everything just to make sure he didn’t hurt her, she felt her chest tighten in the most unexpected way.

"Yes ... a baby," Primrose said softly. "You’re the king of this kingdom, so isn’t it normal for you to want an heir?"

She continued, "I know the Beast Kings are stronger than any of the kings who ca before, but as long as no one can defeat you, doesn’t that an your child would be safe enough to grow up?"

She imagined their children growing up strong, maybe even as strong as their father. Though honestly, it might be a disaster if they ended up more like her than Edmund.

"I ... don’t really care about that," Edmund said softly. "I want children, but if they’re not strong enough to take my place, then there is nothing wrong with that."

[I just hope they don’t turn out like , soone that like a monster.]

[I’d rather they take after my wife.]

Primrose frowned. "But ... won’t our future be at risk if you don’t have strong heirs? When you grow older, soone younger would challenge you and win."

Edmund said gently, "That won’t happen for a long ti, my wife. You don’t have to worry about it."

[Beasts age slower than humans,] he reminded himself. [By the ti I’m considered old ... she might already be—]

He didn’t finish the thought, but Primrose could guess what he ant.
