Now reading: Chapter 47 - 34: Light Attendant from The Most Arbitrary Wizard, a Fantasy novel by Star Voice.

From among the police surrounding Sean and Charles, a man with his head lowered stepped out. He walked to Sean’s side and removed his police cap.

"So strong..."

That was Charles’s first reaction.

As an Alchemist, his sense of sll was sharper than a typical Wizard’s. The aura emanating from this man was on par with his own master’s—at least Tier Five!

The smile on Quill’s face finally, slowly, stiffened. "The Light Attendant... Kate?"

Kate’s tone was profound. "Sharp eyes you have. You even recognize ."

When Charles heard the na, he was first shocked, then overjoyed. "You’re the Light Attendant?"

Kate gave a faint nod. "Mm."

He was so cold, a completely different person from the Kate before the statue.

He had no intention of hiding his identity, revealing his true face openly.

Because today, everyone here was going to die.

Anyone who dared to make a move on the person Lord Blake wanted to protect—who was also his good friend Sean—had to be prepared to face death.

’Great! We’re saved!’ Seeing it was really Kate, Charles felt the thrill of surviving a disaster. He asked Sean, "Why didn’t you tell you knew the Light Attendant sooner? You had worried for nothing."

He had just been preparing to fight these guys to the death.

Sean thought, ’It’s more than just knowing him. Your great Light Attendant is my underling.’

"You’re playing with fire, Kate," Quill warned.

He didn’t bother wondering how Kate had infiltrated the police force; it was aningless.

A High-tier Wizard of Tier Five had too many thods at their disposal. Even if he hadn’t used such a subtle approach and had just smashed his way in from the outside, no one here could have stopped him.

Quill just couldn’t understand how Sean, a Novice Wizard who had just obtained his Magic Power, could have enlisted the help of the Light Attendant Kate.

"Big shots" like Kate had long been on his family’s list. Except when absolutely necessary, they almost never showed their faces in the outside world, because they too were afraid of attracting trouble they couldn’t handle.

The Witch Hunters also had their own ranking system. Vincent and the others from the Black Fruit Rainforest were rely at the very bottom.

"There’s no such thing as trouble," Kate said, looking at Quill. "As long as I kill all of you and clean up neatly, what can you possibly do to ?"

Quill took a deep breath and didn’t answer.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to answer; he knew deep down that Kate was speaking the truth.

In the face of absolutely overwhelming power, all threats were a joke. They could use their numbers to deplete Sean’s and Charles’s Magic Power, but they could never deplete Kate’s. Or to put it more accurately, they weren’t even qualified to fight Kate. The power of a Tier Five was enough to annihilate them in an instant.

Quill gave Sean a deep look.

Sean returned a mocking gaze, as if to say: ’What’s the matter? Where did all that confidence from before go?’

In a corner, secretly hidden behind a counter, Yisha watched Kate and Sean with equal astonishnt.

She had t Kate before, but it was precisely because she had t him that she knew how difficult a man he was to hire. To put it simply, he was like an overbearing CEO. Kate himself ran several large companies and was an expert at putting on airs. Aside from the Wizards who, like him, could enter the second level of the Holy Sanctuary, and his idol, Lord Blake, Kate rarely showed a pleasant face to anyone.

’Sean actually managed to hire him?’

’No, I have to report this to Miss Fla Crow imdiately.’

’This man is far from simple!’

Yisha picked up her cara again and took a few more pictures of Sean and the others. SNAP-SNAP.

Strangely, perhaps because she was too far away, no one noticed her this ti.

Even Kate didn’t spot her, so there was no way Boger and the other police officers could have.

At this mont, their attention was entirely focused on Kate. Every one of them was vigilant, as if facing a great enemy.

Kate was only one person, and even with Sean and Charles, there were only three of them. They were the ones surrounding the trio, yet they felt a pressure as if they were the ones being surrounded.

If Adelf were here, he would definitely praise Kate. His use of presence had beco nearly perfect.

This was one of the combat techniques every Wizard had to learn: apply pressure to the enemy before making a move.

Perhaps one could subdue the enemy without fighting.

But Quill was not the type to surrender, a trait he shared with Sean.

That was why he always said he admired Sean’s courage. People are drawn to those similar to themselves. Even though Magic Power was their bottom line, he had personally been willing to give Sean a choice.

But the appearance of the Light Attendant Kate had changed the situation. Now, he was the one who had to make a choice.

And Quill’s answer was a single word—

"Kill."

There was no room for negotiation between them in the first place. More words were useless. It was better to cut the crap and fight for their lives.

The next second.

The hundred or so police officers surrounding them simultaneously dropped their sabers and drew their guns!

Charles cursed, "Fuck!"

Weren’t these bastards saying they wouldn’t use guns and would fight them up close?

Were the sons of bitches lying to them?

Sean had expected this.

This wasn’t the first ti Quill had pulled sothing like this. On the surface, he was still a gentle and refined doctor.

Only a fool would believe the words of an enemy.

"Get back!" Sean yanked Charles behind him. Two golden rings instantly materialized between his palms. They were much smaller than before, and the formulas on them were hard to make out, but they would be enough.

Because almost no bullets would reach him.

Sean reacted quickly, but Kate reacted even faster.

The instant Boger and the others drew their guns, it was as if a massive beam of sunshine pierced through the roof, shining down through the mall’s top floors and onto them.

A Tier Five Light Magic Spell—"With the Dust of Light."

In that mont, the entire first floor of the mall was bathed in a brilliant white light. All the guards were enveloped, becoming re silhouettes within the curtain of light. They didn’t even have ti to scream before their dark shapes began to lt away. Only a few of the faster-acting officers managed to pull their triggers before they died, letting out a volley of gunfire.

The bullets couldn’t even break through the beam of light. Only a single one managed to fly toward Sean before lting, where it was blocked by the golden ring in his hand and ricocheted onto the wall, splattering like a blob of tallic paint.

From the looks of it, even if he hadn’t blocked it, the bullet wouldn’t have caused him much harm.

The gap between ordinary police and a Tier Five Wizard was simply too vast. Sean didn’t even need to lift a finger.

Bathed in light, Kate looked like a giant.

Quill didn’t call for more backup. He knew better than anyone that with Kate present, even if he summoned the entire police force of Old Segal City, they would only be throwing their lives away. Although the low-level Witch Hunters were worth less than a Sll Crow to them, there was no need to waste them all here.

"Will you do it yourself, or should I help you?" Kate watched Quill with cold eyes.

Given that Quill had been relatively polite to Sean earlier, he was also giving Quill a chance to die with dignity.

"Mr. Light Attendant, be careful."

"Mr. Sean, don’t celebrate too early."

Quill seed to have no intention of taking the offer. He gave Sean a look with an unreadable smile—the exact sa look Sean had received when he was taken away by the Vice Director that Elvire had transford into. Then, he picked up his scalpel and charged at Kate.

"Overestimating your own strength," Kate snorted.

He reached out and, with a grasp, actually pulled a spear directly out of the light before thrusting it forward.

PFFT.

The Light Spear pierced through Quill’s body.
