"Don’t ntion it." The young woman waved her hand dismissively. "You won’t be so lucky next ti."
She had co to Florist Hospital on business. When she entered the city yesterday, she heard soone had escaped from the hospital. She knew that person would likely die and wanted to try and save them. Unfortunately, she was a step too late. By the ti she arrived, the police were already there to make the arrest. Today, after sneaking into the hospital, she found Sean being threatened by Quill and decided to help.
In the end, it was all done in passing. If she could save one, she would.
She didn’t know Chris or Sean. Looks aside, it didn’t really matter to her who she saved.
"So when you deliberately flew past my house last night, you were warning ?" Sean asked.
"Yes," the young woman said. "But you didn’t listen."
It wasn’t just her; Chris had also warned Sean. The Witch Hunt Operation was brutal. He shouldn’t get involved with the mystical, and he definitely shouldn’t beco a Wizard. Doing so would only turn him into their prey.
"Don’t go to Florist Hospital again. As long as you don’t willingly walk through their doors, they probably won’t co for you," the young woman instructed.
Sean: "Probably?"
"They usually only go after real Wizards," the young woman answered.
"I’ve read the story you wrote. The main character is Carl Black, right? The fact that you know about him ans you must be an Awakened. But you’ve only awakened a portion of your awareness and haven’t gained any Magic Power. That ans your awakening is incomplete."
An incomplete awakening ant that Sean had the potential to beco a Wizard, but it wasn’t high—at least not at this stage. And an ordinary Low-tier Wizard couldn’t even block a pistol bullet. They would only end up as another one of the countless tragic sacrifices in the Witch Hunt Operation.
"I advise you to just be a normal person," the young woman suggested. "At least that way, you’ll survive."
Sean was silent for a mont, then shook his head. "It’s no use. They’ve already targeted ."
Since Quill knew his profession, he must have read his book. In other words, Quill also knew he was an "Awakened." He was already on Florist Hospital’s "patient list."
Sean didn’t know the exact aning of being an Awakened. He hadn’t had any related dreams yet, but he could guess it was probably an ideological awakening, sothing like opening your eyes to the world.
The reason Florist Hospital hadn’t moved against him was most likely because of his novel—that maniac Quill actually wanted to lock him up and force him to write...
Intuition told Sean that the bizarre yet realistic world he had "shaped" in his book could perhaps make it easier for people to awaken, helping *them* find more potential Wizards.
’And then round them all up in one fell swoop.’
’He was being used.’
’The mont he lost his value, that would be the day he died.’
That was why Chris had told him to stop writing, to leave this city.
The only way to hide was to change his identity, get a new job, and start a new life, making sure not to leave behind a single clue.
But Sean wasn’t that kind of person.
Just as he had gone to Florist Hospital despite knowing the potential danger; just as he had raised his gun and aid it between Quill’s eyes, even knowing he might die under Quill’s scalpel.
Sean rembered Chris’s words—"When they say you’re a Wizard, you are one, even when you’re not."
He wanted to change that to—"When they say you’re a Wizard, you’d better be one."
Sean could sense the young woman’s goodwill. He also knew that ordinary Low-tier Wizards weren’t much stronger than mortals. Even so High Tier Wizards who focused solely on Attack Spells were glass cannons. This all matched the rules he had laid out in his book.
But that was precisely why he had to beco a Wizard.
Because whether it was Chris, Quill, or the Fla Crow Maiden before him, they were all proving one thing to him—everything in his book was real. His novel was written from a third-person perspective, where the author was like an observer, witnessing heroes and epics throughout the river of history and recording them in writing. That was why the maiden believed he had awakened his awareness and perceived the truth of the world.
Quill probably thought so too.
