Inside the icy mine, a miner whose clothes could barely provide any warmth was rubbing the pickaxe in his hand.

He was not Infected. On this land of Ursus, using the Infected as miners consud too many lives and could not maintain normal requirents, so there were also ordinary miners, but they were not much better off than the Infected.

Supplies were withheld, wages were delayed, the working environnt was extrely poor, and safety guarantees were practically nonexistent.

"Ursus shouldn't be like this. Why has the prosperous Ursus our ancestors spoke of turned into what it is today?"

Recalling his childhood, listening to his grandfather describe the once prosperous and glorious Ursus, the veins on the miner's hand holding the pickaxe could not help but bulge.

What he felt was a strong sense of grievance and frustration. He felt that this place should not be like this, that Ursus should not be like this, and that he and the other miners should not be treated this way.

But what could he do? He was just an ordinary miner who had not even read many books, and even to survive, he had to give his all. What ability did he have to change these things?

Most of the people around him had already gotten used to it and accepted this situation. They gradually began to beco numb. As long as this job could still provide them with the necessities for survival, they would accept it.

In the past, there had been heroes who stood up to fight against injustice. Those who succeeded did indeed bring so improvent to the miners' situation, but it would not take long before those heroes were assimilated and corrupted, eventually becoming a new batch of exploiters.

Under such desperate circumstances, the miner's hand gradually loosened powerlessly.

That sense of despair filled his heart. Perhaps that was precisely why people could only cope with this feeling by becoming numb.

"Do you want to try to change it?"

A voice suddenly reached his ears. The miner sitting on the ground suddenly stood up and looked around vigilantly.

Mining on this land did not just dig up things like ore. Sotis, strange things were dug up.

Then the miner saw a gray-haired man who absolutely should not have appeared in the mine tunnel. He was wearing clothes even thinner than his own, as if he were completely unafraid of the harsh environnt around him, and appeared right in front of him.

Although the other person's attire was entirely black, it was much cleaner and tidier than his own clothes, looking as if it did not have a single crease, like it was brand new.

The miner did not speak. He was not sure whether the guy standing in front of him was human or sothing else, so it was better not to answer.

The gray-haired young man did not seem to be in a hurry either. He did not care at all about the dirt on the ground or the cleanliness of his clothes, sitting directly on the ground as if waiting for the miner in front of him to answer.

After hesitating for a long ti, the miner replied hesitantly, "I don't care if you are a demon or a monster. If you can really realize what I want to achieve, then take whatever you want."

"What do you want to change?"

"I want the withheld wages to be paid on ti, I want the working environnt to be safer, and I want the treatnt of my fellow miners to be better."

"Is that all?"

"..."

"Your heart is telling that this is not enough to satisfy you."

"I can't quite put it into words, but I just feel that Ursus shouldn't be like this. My grandfather told that the Ursus of the past was the most powerful country on this land, and every citizen of Ursus felt proud of their identity. But now, I only feel that this country is rotten to the core."

"In that case, how about I give you the power to change it?"

"Then what exactly do you want to get?"

"I just want to see, once a spark is given, how many people are willing to hold that spark high, using themselves as firewood to ignite the fla of hope."

As he said this, a black lotus with burning sparks appeared in the gray-haired young man's hand.

"Take this lotus, and you will gain power. Extraordinary power will give you great ability to act, but how you use this power will be up to you. Whether you change your own situation, beco a noble, beco one of the upper class, or lead like-minded compatriots to resist, that will be up to you."

The miner gritted his teeth. Regardless of whether the person in front of him was an illusion or so legendary ghost, at this mont, this opportunity was right in front of him, and there was nothing to hesitate about.

Driven by the unwillingness and greed in his heart, the miner grasped the lotus. Then he felt a scorching, painful sensation from within his body. He collapsed directly to the ground, his consciousness falling into extre chaos.

When his consciousness regained clarity, he slowly crawled up from the ground, feeling an unprecedented sense of ease all over his body, making him feel as if he had returned to his youth, as if his strength could never be exhausted.

"..."

Caelus was currently continuing to walk across the snowy plains. He had been walking on this land for several months. In these few months, he had sown many seeds. So were Infected, so were soldiers, so were ordinary miners, and so were simply villagers in a village.

So people gained powerful strength, so gained enlightening knowledge, and so gained supplies for survival.

These seeds were sown by him, waiting for the soil called ti to let them take root and sprout.

Caelus took out his map and checked it briefly. Based on the mine he had just left as a reference point, it would not be long before he left Ursus.

Over the past few months, he had been wandering around, taking quite a few detours and visiting so mobile cities and stationary villages.

And now, he was about to leave Ursus and head to Kazdel.

That was the holand of the Sarkaz race.

The Sarkaz were not a single race. They had many subdivisions. However, the vast majority of people in Terra classified all those groups as Sarkaz and called them demons.

The Sarkaz were considered a chaotic and evil race. People of this race were born to pursue cri and were naturally unstable terrorists.

Most Sarkaz working abroad were rcenaries. After all, most of them had not received much education, but they possessed the powerful physical constitution and Arts gifted by their race, so they could only rely on this to make a living.

Caelus planned to go there to see for himself, as he had heard that the land was currently ruled by two monarchs, a brother and sister. However, it seed the two had developed a rift, and it was likely that a civil war would break out before long.

In reality, looking at past history and the map, Caelus felt that if Kazdel wanted to restore its nation, the greatest pressure was not consolidating the chaotic regis within its borders, but facing the oppression of neighboring countries.

Take Ursus, for example.

Furthermore, the Sarkaz were notoriously fierce and combative on this continent. Every Sarkaz could beco a soldier on the battlefield. If such an extrely brave and battle-hardened race were to be reunited, it would pose a huge threat to all other nations.

Therefore, this civil war was less about the two of them having a disagreent, and more about other countries constantly stirring up trouble.

Caelus thought this to himself, his figure gradually becoming completely buried within the rising snowstorm.

Yet the traces of his presence could not be concealed by the snow that was capable of covering everything, for burning blood and scorching flas could not be hidden by snow.

Only through blood and fire could decaying systems and nations be reborn.
