The rebels opened up with all their heavy weapons: Leman Russ Tanks, lascannons, multi-ltas—many still bearing the Imperial Aquila.
They'd taken the Imperials' abandoned equipnt and turned it on their forr comrades.
Artillery rained down on Datch, tossing him around, his health plumting.
Finally, the Leman Russ tank fired a shell that vaporized half of Datch's body.
Creed watched despairingly. He'd hoped this naless Emperor's Angel could turn the tide.
But even he had fallen to the rebels' firepower.
"Hahaha! The Corpse Emperor's lackey is dead!"
The rebel leader slapped the tank hull in triumph.
"This is what loyalty gets you! You fools—your end is—eh? How is he still alive!?"
A flash of light, and Datch walked out, unhard.
The rebels—all dumbfounded.
