Those people kept coming to Wen Jinjin over and over again, wasn't it because of this reason?
"Brother Zhou, are you saying you left quietly because you already anticipated the power of their weapon?"
The dark-skinned man didn't imdiately return to the peach blossom village. After all, they were from the sa village, leaving them to return alone felt sowhat unkind, so he simply waited at a place not too far from the Kao Shan Sect.
If these people were smart, they could still make it back alive. If not, then there was no need to return.
"So people we can provoke, others are best viewed from afar with no interaction. Tang Rao belongs to the latter. If you had told the truth back then, I certainly wouldn't have co with you to demand soone."
The dark-skinned man wasn't sparing in his words at all. He said what he ant, largely because he was venting the anger in his heart.
"Brother Zhou, what do you an by this? Aren't we all doing this for the good of the peach blossom village? Divine Doctor Wen's dical skills are so good that bringing the dead back to life is hardly a challenge. Giving up on Divine Doctor Wen is our loss."
Even though he left, they still hadn't given up on Wen Jinjin. They heard Wen Jinjin was going to open a dical clinic in Tingzhou, which made them furious.
Why open a clinic in Tingzhou? They didn't have a clinic in the peach blossom village, and wanting to open one in Tingzhou, providing convenience for people there, wasn't it a blatant insult to them?
"Let's just end this here. If you're sensible, go back early. Look at Li Sheng's injury and then look at your own abilities. If you think you can handle those Divine Artifacts, go on and et your doom. I won't stop you."
The dark-skinned man finished his piece. Whether the others would listen or not was entirely up to them.
"Let's head back. For now, it looks like we can't match them. It's better to go back and find so money. After all, if soone falls ill, we might not even have the money to buy dicine."
The villagers left the way they ca, carrying hoes on their shoulders, but the man who had been shot was full of gloom. He couldn't keep up with the group's pace, so he let them leave early while he borrowed so money from the villagers and found a cheap inn to stay in.
"Please find a pair of scissors, give so high-proof alcohol, and bring so anesthetic as soon as possible."
Li Sheng handed a Purple Crystal to the inn assistant. A Purple Crystal was more than enough to buy these things, and the rest could be considered the assistant's delivery fee.
It's no wonder Li Sheng was being so extravagant with his money at this point. He couldn't go out to buy things himself. If his condition worsened, he'd lose both his leg and possibly his life.
The inn assistant quickly brought Li Sheng what he needed and even found so white cloth for him to use as bandages.
"Sir, here are the items you requested."
Li Sheng checked to make sure everything was there—it was all just as he needed, even with hot water ready. The inn assistant seed quite honest.
Li Sheng cut open his pants. The blood had dried, sticking the flesh and cloth together, causing excruciating pain when pulled apart.
The anesthetic was limited. After the pant leg was cut open, he poured the powdered anesthetic onto the wound.
The anesthetic began to take effect after a stick of incense, and as the pain subsided, Li Sheng used his own knife to cut into his leg. There was indeed a dark shell inside the flesh. He extracted it, but the shell was mixed with pieces of his thigh at and blood, obscuring its origin.
"Tang Rao, I must kill you!"
The man's pupils were as red as the blood on his leg. The pain of the bullet shot was seared into his mory.
"If I don't kill you, I won't find peace for the rest of my life!"
The anesthetic had a ti limit. Just as Li Sheng finished bandaging the wound and was about to lie down and rest, his leg began to throb with pain.
The more his leg hurt, the more deep-seated his hatred for Tang Rao beca. Wasn't it just because he had a sharp weapon? What if there were a technique to fend against such weapons, could he then engage in a battle to the bitter end with Tang Rao?
Tang Rao was exhausted. When he t with the people from the peach blossom village, he didn't invite Li Qi. He was worried those people might return to the peach blossom village and create trouble upon learning that Li Qi was with Tang Rao.
Tang Rao might not care about such rumors, but Li Qi might.
"Are you still thinking about what happened during the day?"
In the evening, Tang Rao didn't seek out Bei Lin or Zhang Kexin, but went to Wen Jinjin's small courtyard instead.
This courtyard, exclusively belonging to Wen Jinjin, even though it hadn't been lived in for a long ti, Tang Rao regularly had people clean it. Thus, when Wen Jinjin returned, the house was arranged the sa as before, just with no dust—like soone had been living there all along.
Tang Rao lay on the bed, covered by a blanket that slled like Wen Jinjin, while Wen Jinjin rubbed his head, her movents ssy yet sohow consistent.
Originally feeling sowhat chaotic, Tang Rao's mind suddenly beca much clearer.
"It's not about the dayti events. I just want to ask if you really intend to open a clinic, or was that just a joke?"
Whatever Tang Rao's woman decided to do, as long as it wasn't too outrageous, he would fully support her. Allowing his beloved to do what she liked was always his greatest sense of achievent.
"Yes, since there are so many people in the gentle township, with the sisters managing it, I wouldn't be missed. I want to open a clinic and do sothing more aningful."
Wen Jinjin's thoughts were t with Tang Rao's support.
He opened his eyes, looked at Wen Jinjin, and then nodded solemnly, "If you need help with setting up the clinic, just say the word. Don't feel embarrassed. You becoming a doctor also gives face as your husband."
She becoming a doctor really made him feel proud?
Wen Jinjin's eyes lit up. Her original intent to open a clinic was to save lives, without considering Tang Rao's feelings. But if it was truly as Tang Rao said, that it would bring him honor, she was even more determined to pursue her plan and do an even better job than before.
"Thank you, my husband."
Disregarding the usual restraint between n and won, she directly planted a kiss on Tang Rao's forehead.
Just as she intended to pull away and her lips left Tang Rao's forehead, Tang Rao pressed down with his hand and shifted, sealing her lips with his own.
How could this happen?
Wen Jinjin had calculated the timing and angle to give a quick kiss and then run, but her plan was seen through by Tang Rao before she could even execute it.
"What's this, you think you can just tease and run away?"
