Gu Yunjiao finally slowed down a bit, trying to breathe calmly as she walked.
Upon entering the courtyard, Gu Yunjiao heard the cry of a baby, loud and strong, indicating that the child was quite healthy.
Several people in the courtyard were scurrying around like headless flies. When they saw Gu Yunjiao co in, they all rushed to surround her, speaking all at once: "Doctor Gu, save my wife."
"Doctor Gu, save my daughter-in-law."
"Doctor Gu, please save my sister-in-law."
Gu Yunjiao paused, "Which is the delivery room?"
A scholar-like man pointed to a room, and without a word, Gu Yunjiao pushed the door open and went in.
As soon as she entered, a strong sll of blood hit her nose.
There were two elderly won inside. One with a sowhat square face approached anxiously, "Doctor Gu, please save my grandson’s wife."
Gu Yunjiao nodded at her, placed the dical kit on the table, and then opened it to take out the Golden Needle.
Mrs. Chen followed her in, intending to assist Gu Yunjiao.
Just as Gu Yunjiao was about to move a stool, Mrs. Chen placed it in front of the bed where the woman in labor lay.
Gu Yunjiao directly put the sandalwood box on the stool and prepared to administer acupuncture on the woman.
At this point, the woman was half-conscious, her lips pale, indicating excessive blood loss.
Gu Yunjiao held the Golden Needle and first pierced the point between the woman’s forefinger and middle finger on the back of her hand, known as the Broken Red point, a point known for stopping bleeding, specifically for uterine bleeding.
The woman’s legs were bare, her thighs stained red, and the bedding beneath her was also soaked in a dark color.
While performing acupuncture, Gu Yunjiao instructed the two elderly won, "Put a clean mat under her."
The two elderly won quickly placed a clean mat under the woman, and after piercing both hands, Gu Yunjiao inserted the Golden Needle into the Hidden White point on the woman’s big toe, another point for stopping bleeding.
Soon after, Gu Yunjiao also pierced the points on the inner side of the woman’s thigh at the Sea of Blood and the three yin intersection on her calf.
After all the acupuncture points were treated, almost simultaneously, Gu Yunjiao heard one of the elderly won whisper, "It seems the bleeding has stopped."
The mat that was just placed underneath only had a few spots of blood on it and wasn’t wetted with fresh blood.
The other elderly woman quickly leaned in for a closer look, her voice slightly trembling, "Has it really stopped bleeding?"
Gu Yunjiao then said, "The bleeding has stopped temporarily, but in her condition, she still needs dication."
"I will feel her pulse first, then prescribe a treatnt."
The elderly woman quickly said, "Thank you, Doctor Gu."
With her eyes closed, Gu Yunjiao felt the woman’s pulse. It was weak and feeble, and she was still not entirely out of danger.
She quickly wrote out a prescription and said to the elderly woman, "Take this prescription and go to the county to get the dicine for her to take."
"One prescription per day, twice a day. After three doses, her life should be out of danger."
The elderly woman took the prescription with both hands and quickly went out.
The woman still had the Golden Needles inserted in her, and Gu Yunjiao didn’t leave but stayed in the delivery room to monitor her condition.
The elderly woman went out and ca back in, watching as Gu Yunjiao stayed by the side, constantly watching the woman on the bed, and felt imnsely grateful.
After waiting for more than an hour, until the dicine was brought, Gu Yunjiao witnessed the woman drink it, then after waiting a while, Gu Yunjiao finally stood up to remove the needles.
By then, the woman had regained consciousness, but she was weak, grateful as she looked at Gu Yunjiao, unable to speak.
