Chief Qian was wearing the governnt office’s black uniform with red edges. He was looking around and, upon turning his head, saw her. He walked over with a cheerful smile, and his large fan-like hand moved to slap Yun Jiao’s shoulder.
Halfway through, Chief Qian seed to realize that Yun Jiao was a woman and that the action was inappropriate, so his large hand instead landed on Manager Wang’s shoulder, causing him to noticeably shrink by half an inch.
"Divine Doctor, truly a Divine Doctor! The dicine worked wonders!" Chief Qian said with a hearty laugh, "I ca here today especially to deliver the consultation fee and to thank Divine Doctor Gu."
You should know, the sore on the back of his neck had been troubling him, preventing him from sleeping well for several days.

Manager Wang stood beside them, awkwardly smiling.
Across the hall, Jiang Rong and Jiang Hua were standing at the doorway, occasionally exchanging glances.
After speaking, Chief Qian took out a tael of silver and handed it to Yun Jiao, "This is for the consultation fee."
Originally, Manager Wang had agreed to deliver the fee to Yun Jiao, but Chief Qian insisted on coming personally for this visit.
He felt that only by coming in person could he truly show his respect to the divine doctor.
Yun Jiao invited them inside the house and took another look at Chief Qian’s neck. The sore had completely healed, with not even a trace left on the skin.

As Yun Jiao escorted Chief Qian out the door, across the way Jiang Rong and Jiang Hua seed eager, as if they wanted to greet Chief Qian, but as he glanced over, they ekly held back.
With his thick eyebrows and a face like a fierce beast, Chief Qian looked intimidating.
Chief Qian rode away on horseback, but Manager Wang hadn’t left yet.
He drank two cups of tea before speaking, "Girl, Uncle asks you, are you only skilled in treating sores or are you well-rounded in other dical fields too?"
Yun Jiao thought for a mont and replied seriously, "I’m quite skilled in general dicine, ophthalmology, gynecology, dermatology, and orthopedics too."
Hearing this, Manager Wang understood she could handle most illnesses.
He rubbed his hands a few tis, "Well, Uncle Wang has a request. Could you possibly co to my pharmacy to see patients?"
He smiled and said, "As long as you’re willing to co, apart from a fixed monthly salary, I’ll give you a five percent commission for every prescription you write."
"You should know, even Doctor Liu only gets a three percent commission."
Yun Jiao smiled at Manager Wang, "Thank you for having such high regard for , but as I ntioned before, I plan to open a pharmacy in the Prefecture City after the New Year. It’ll also make it easier to find my father."
Manager Wang lanted, "Girl, you should know, it’s not easy for a doctor to build a reputation. You’ve just started to make a na for yourself here, going elsewhere ans starting all over again. It’s tough!"
"But if it’s to find your father, then there’s no other way."
"Alright then, Uncle Wang will leave it at that. If you ever decide you want to join , you’re welco at any ti."
After seeing off Manager Wang, Yun Jiao turned around and saw Jiang Hua smiling at her, "Da Lang’s wife, who was that person in the governnt uniform just now?"
Yun Jiao paused her steps and laughed, "Oh, you an Chief Qian?"
Jiang Hua’s eyes lit up, an arresting officer!
If only he could get to know soone like that, he could practically walk sideways throughout the county.
