Yun Jiao’s eyes were fixed on the grain in the field when she heard Taohua suddenly stop speaking. She turned her head and saw Taohua collapsed on the ground.
Yun Jiao quickly put the grain in her hand into the bamboo basket, stood up, and crossed the field ridge. She was about to help Taohua up when Taohua’s mother-in-law, Mrs. Qin, also ran over. Seeing Taohua unconscious in the field, she imdiately reached out to pinch Taohua’s philtrum.
Yun Jiao had to loosen her grip. Mrs. Qin pinched hard, and Taohua breathed out, slowly coming to her senses. She looked at the sky above her, "What happened to ?"
Mrs. Qin assud Taohua was pretending to be lazy. Annoyed, she said, "You fake fainting over such little work, always shirking, now get up!" With that, she reached out to pull her up.
Taohua propped herself up to sit on the ground, tears brimming in her eyes, "Mother, I didn’t—"
Yun Jiao stopped Mrs. Qin, "Aunt, don’t rush her to get up, let her rest for a while first."
After saying that, Yun Jiao squatted down, took Taohua’s hand, and rested it on her own knee to feel her pulse.
Mrs. Qin looked at Yun Jiao doubtfully, "You can diagnose?"
Yun Jiao nodded, then focused on the pulse.
Several n from the Zhang family ca over when they saw sothing happening.
The won and children from the Jiang family also ran over to watch.
Mrs. Yang saw Yun Jiao feeling the pulse and sneered, "Misfortune bearer, pretending, acting as if she’s a doctor!"
The Liu Family blinked but said nothing.
Mrs. Chen, afraid of disturbing Yun Jiao, also dared not speak.
A mont later, Yun Jiao let go of her hand, stood up, and said to Mrs. Qin, "Congratulations, Aunt, Taohua is expecting."
"Wha, what?" Mrs. Qin was incredulous; was it the aning she thought?
Da Lang from the Zhang family was more direct. He squatted beside Taohua, cradling her head in his arms, "Expecting, Taohua, we have a child!"
Taohua felt both aggrieved and happy; her mother-in-law had just accused her of faking fainting to avoid work. Laying her head on her husband’s knee, she began to sob.
Mrs. Qin realized she had wrongly accused Taohua and said with a smile, "Taohua, your mother is a bit irritable, don’t bla ."
"Since you’re feeling unwell, go inside and rest."
Taohua finally lifted her head and nodded, feeling both shy and proud.
Da Lang from the Zhang family carefully helped Taohua up, "I’ll carry you inside."
Mrs. Qin saw her son’s cautious manner and was suddenly displeased, sourly saying, "You’re only acting this way because I’m your mother-in-law. When I was expecting Da Lang, I was still working in the fields even close to delivery."
Taohua sensed her mother-in-law’s displeasure, blushed, and pushed Da Lang from the Zhang family aside, "I’m feeling better; I can walk on my own."
Mrs. Yang now sneered from the side, "Oh, you’ve all taken it seriously?"
"She’s just a little girl, barely grown. Do you believe her when she says she’s expecting?"
These words froze Taohua’s steps.
Da Lang from the Zhang family also stopped.
Mrs. Qin’s expression beca hesitant.
Mrs. Chen pulled Yun Jiao over and sneered, "Believe it or not, our Yun Jiao has great dical skills."
"Don’t forget who our Yun Jiao’s father is."
Mrs. Qin clapped her thigh, "That’s right, Doctor Gu’s dical skills are renowned across several counties. Even if Yun Jiao learns just a little, it’s amazing."
Six Lang shouted from the side, "Exactly, my sister-in-law is really skilled. Yesterday, I was bitten by a centipede; my hand swelled and almost poisoned , but she healed in no ti."
Yun Jiao looked at Six Lang amused, thinking, Can we not exaggerate?
