If you doubt soone, don’t use them. If you use soone, don’t doubt them. He appreciated the talents and abilities of the Jiang Family father and son. He was not the kind of suspicious monarch; he had grand ambitions in his heart. He wanted to recover Dingjing, level Huining, wash away the humiliation of the two emperors being captured, accomplish feats his ancestors had not achieved, and beco a wise ruler for the ages.

He firmly believed that his aspirations could be realized, and the Duke of England and Lord Chief Minister would also surely be famous ministers for the ages.

And the friendship between the ruler and his ministers would also be a celebrated story through the ages.

The emperor withdrew his thoughts, looking at the Lord Chief Minister below with slightly red ears, secretly admiring for a mont. Over the years, Jiang Youzhi had beco increasingly adept at masking his emotions, so it was rare to see him display such emotion.

He decided not to tease the Lord Chief Minister any longer, nodding slightly, "The National Lady possesses exceptional dical skills. I think having the National Lady accompany us to the traveling palace is very fitting."

Jiang Youzhi’s lips curved upward, "Your servant is most grateful, Your Majesty."

The emperor laughed, "You can’t just thank with words. Once we’re at the traveling palace, join for a few drinks, get drunk and sleep like we used to, how about it?"

Jiang Youzhi cupped his hands, smiling, "I dare not disobey."

That morning, Yun Jiao received an oral decree from the palace stating that the emperor wanted her to accompany him to the Dangu Mountain Palace.

Fortunately, there were still three days before departure.

In these few days, Yun Jiao hurried to finish seeing her scheduled patients and prepared to set off.

Yang Ying and Cai Ping had already packed the clothes and luggage she needed to bring.

As for Ruru, the maid had also made arrangents.

Yun Jiao decided to take Yang Ying with her. Du Ruo would also accompany Jiang Youzhi to the traveling palace, and if Cai Ping went as well, there would be no one to look after her children at ho.

Cai Ping and Du Ruo were both without parents. Although there were servants in Cai Ping’s ho as well, being away for two or three months was still worrying.

Yang Ying was quite happy.

She truly did not want to marry at all now; getting married would only an being confined in deep courtyards, unlike now when she could travel freely with Yun Jiao.

She also didn’t worry about future matters; she had already spoken with You Er, and You Er promised to care for her in old age and in death.

Thinking of You Er, Yang Ying’s heart softened imnsely.

Of the three children, she liked You Er the most, having watched him be born with her own eyes, having held him from birth.

You Er was also fond of her. When he was younger, every ti he ca back, he’d hug her, though he didn’t do that anymore now that he was older.

The departure day ca quickly.

The road from the Imperial Palace to the northern city gate was entirely sealed off by the Forbidden Army, and neither carriages nor pedestrians were allowed to move.

A mber of the Forbidden Army, holding a long spear, stood every three to five steps on the street.

Behind the Forbidden Army stood the citizens of Xiang City, eagerly waiting to see the spectacle.

The citizens craned their necks towards the direction of the Imperial Palace, anticipating the appearance of the emperor’s carriage.

From afar, soone shouted, "It’s coming, it’s coming!"

The citizens looked over, seeing at the very front were eight carriages, each drawn by two horses.

The carriages were uniformly made of oilcloth, not luxurious, but the horses pulling them were tall and majestic, their black coats shining like sleek black satin in the sunlight.

The drivers were all young and handso lads selected from the Imperial Guard.

Inside these eight carriages sat eight prominent ministers of the court.

The Jiang Youzhi father and son each rode in two of these carriages.

The Duke rode in the first carriage on the left, with Qi Er and You Er sharing the carriage.

At this mont, the two children both sat like the Duke, hands on their knees, eyes forward, sitting upright.
