Xiao Jinxing remained silent for a mont.

Then he said indifferently, "An Ning will not save our relationship, she only wants to save Gu Xingchuan."

"But..."

Xiao Jinxing gestured.

Song Yanqing dared not speak further.

It seems the Emperor no longer trusts the Empress.

After all, the Empress did abandon the Emperor, so decisively and freely.

"Your Majesty!" Suddenly, an excited voice echoed in the hall, from Ping Gonggong.

Xiao Jinxing’s face darkened.

Ping Gonggong hurriedly said, "Your Majesty, bad news has co from Fengqi Palace, the Empress suddenly fainted."

A flicker of panic was evident in Xiao Jinxing’s eyes.

Song Yanqing was also sowhat anxious, quickly saying, "I just ca from the Empress. Her health seed very weak..."

"Has the Imperial Physician been sent?" Xiao Jinxing asked coldly.

"The Imperial Physician has been sent forth," Ping Gonggong replied quickly.

"What about Feng Xiyun?" Xiao Jinxing asked again.

"Imperial Physician Feng is still in the Imperial Hospital," Ping Gonggong said, "Your Majesty did not allow Feng Xiaotai to treat the Empress, so there was no summon for her."

"Send Feng Xiyun imdiately," Xiao Jinxing commanded.

"Yes." Ping Gonggong respectfully complied.

He knew well enough that the Emperor’s words differed from his intentions.

He promptly ordered soone to summon Feng Xiyun.

Followed the Emperor directly to Fengqi Palace.

Song Yanqing followed behind, watching the Emperor’s urgent steps.

To truly love soone, it’s undeniable.

Arriving at Fengqi Palace.

Xiao Jinxing strode into the inner hall.

At this mont, a room full of Imperial Physicians waited in the inner hall.

When Xiao Jinxing arrived, Feng Xiyun hurriedly arrived as well.

Upon seeing Xiao Jinxing, everyone imdiately knelt, "Greetings, Your Majesty."

"Go check on her," Xiao Jinxing ordered Feng Xiyun.

"Your servant obeys," Feng Xiyun replied quickly.

She carried her physician’s box and walked behind the screen.

Xiao Jinxing followed her inside.

An Ning lay on the bed, her face flushed, breathing heavily, her sleep restless.

Feng Xiyun set down her box and respectfully took An Ning’s pulse.

Xiao Jinxing’s hands clenched into fists behind his back.

A quiet space.

Feng Xiyun withdrew her fingers, placed An Ning’s hand under the quilt, then turned to respectfully address Xiao Jinxing, "The Empress has caught a cold, her fever caused her to faint."

"Is it serious?" Xiao Jinxing asked.

"Yes." Feng Xiyun nodded.

Xiao Jinxing’s fists seed to tighten again.

"Your servant will first prepare dicine for the Empress to bring down the fever. If the fever doesn’t recede..." Feng Xiyun hesitated.

Xiao Jinxing appeared tense.

"But the Empress is blessed, your servant believes she will be alright." Feng Xiyun quickly added.

"Go prepare the dicine."

"Yes." Feng Xiyun respectfully left.

Upon leaving, she glanced back at Xiao Jinxing, witnessing the unmistakable worry in his eyes.

So, the Emperor does have monts of such anxiety.

Even during the border battles with great enemies, he didn’t display such an expression.

Feng Xiyun left.

Xiao Jinxing sat by the bedside, touched An Ning’s forehead.

It was alarmingly hot.

Xiao Jinxing’s face darkened, "She’s this sick, how do you attend to her?!"

Nearby Palace Attendant was terrified, quickly knelt on the ground.

"This morning when the Empress awoke, this servant noticed her body was burning. This servant intended to summon the Imperial Physician, but the Empress wanted to et Lord Song first..." the Palace Attendant said tremblingly, "After eting Lord Song, while writing her own prescription, the Empress suddenly fainted. This servant failed to take care of the Empress, deserves ten thousand deaths, please punish , Your Majesty."

Xiao Jinxing scolded sternly, "If anything happens to the Empress, all of you will follow in her demise!"

No one in the room dared to speak.

Everyone trembled uncontrollably.

"Cold..." On the bed, An Ning suddenly uttered a weak sound.

Xiao Jinxing leaned closer, "What did you say?"

"Cold, I’m so cold... so cold..." An Ning mumbled.

Xiao Jinxing turned and ordered, "Add more charcoal to the room, the Empress says she’s cold."

"Yes." Palace Attendant replied nervously, quickly added more charcoal.

The temperature rose sowhat, but An Ning kept complaining of cold.

Xiao Jinxing ordered more quilts be brought to cover her.

Yet An Ning’s body kept shivering.

"Cold..." An Ning kept muttering.

Urgent concern showed clearly on Xiao Jinxing’s face.

Despite the many layered blankets, how could there still be cold?

Feng Xiyun had already prepared the dicinal decoction and entered, noticing Xiao Jinxing’s intense expression of worry. She respectfully said, "Your Majesty, the Empress’s dicine is ready."

Without looking at Feng Xiyun, Xiao Jinxing reached out and took it, "Give it to ."

"Yes." Feng Xiyun handed the dicine to Xiao Jinxing.

"Help the Empress sit up," Xiao Jinxing ordered.

Palace Attendant hurriedly supported the dazed An Ning to sit up and take dicine.

"She’s afraid of cold, keep her wrapped," Xiao Jinxing instructed.

"Yes."

Palace Attendant carefully supported An Ning.

An Ning groggily opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was a familiar face.

Fu Xingyi?!

No.

It’s Xiao Jinxing.

Fu Xingyi wouldn’t wear such elaborate court attire.

Fu Xingyi’s eyes wouldn’t be locked in such dark tension, either.

Seeming to lift the corners of her mouth slightly, An Ning said weakly, "Why is Your Majesty here?"

Xiao Jinxing didn’t speak.

An Ning smiled again, "To see if I’ve died yet?"

Xiao Jinxing’s face darkened more.

"Don’t worry, it’s just a slight cold, won’t die," An Ning said softly, "Just very sleepy."

"Take the dicine and then sleep," Xiao Jinxing ordered coldly, his tone mixed with command.

An Ning glanced at the dicine in Xiao Jinxing’s hand, then looked up at him, "I don’t want to take it."

"An Ning." Xiao Jinxing’s voice intensified.

"Release Gu Xingchuan, and I’ll take it," An Ning bargained, her dazed eyes still carrying hope.

"At this point, the Empress only thinks of Gu Xingchuan?!" Xiao Jinxing’s face was cold.

"Just don’t kill Gu Xingchuan, and I’ll do whatever Your Majesty wants," An Ning said weakly, her voice very low.

"For Gu Xingchuan, the Empress truly uses any ans," Xiao Jinxing mocked.

He was convinced that An Ning was using her illness to threaten him.

An Ning hadn’t intended to use this thod.

But since she was already ill, why not try?

Perhaps Xiao Jinxing might really relent?!

"An Ning, I’ll tell you, even if you die on this bed, I won’t spare Gu Xingchuan," Xiao Jinxing articulated distinctly.

"Is it so difficult to spare Gu Xingchuan?" An Ning asked softly.

Tears trickled down her cheeks.

"I’ve said what needs to be said, the Empress t with Song Yanqing today and should understand the situation. If the Empress insists, it will only harm the bond between the Emperor and Empress!"
