As soon as Denise drifted off to sleep, after I had given her the best sex of her life, I cast a sleep spell on her to ensure she had a great sleep and would wake up in ti for her alarm and fully rested. I also checked her normal ans of getting to and from work and wasn't surprised she used public transportation. Driving could be quite hazardous if you weren't careful and it was an added expense she didn't really need.
I set a delayed ssage to appear on her cyberdeck after she woke up in the morning, too. It was sweet, and endearing, and made sound like a lovesick sap that was saying goodbye after having the ti of my life... and then I added I would see her at work tomorrow. I was sure it would make her laugh and left the bedroom.
I entered the bathroom, showered, cleaned my clothes in her washer, and put them on. She didn't have a presser like I had in my bathroom, so I left the bathroom and went out into her living room. I was very tempted to clean up, only I knew that was a strict violation of her trust and I didn't want her to think bad of , not after last night.
I left her apartnt and went up to the roof and the AV landing pad there. I spoofed the caras and ssaged the building's security that another AV would be landing. I ntally fed the security system the image of a blue AV landing and it was similar to the one that dropped Denise and I off. I then put a copy into place and made it blue.
I hopped into the back and flew it to my warehouse in the industrial sector. I had most of the night to work and I wasn't going to disappoint Delamain by not completing his car fra request. When I tried to land in the small parking lot beside it, I couldn't. They had delivered the huge industrial printer and it had been dropped right there in the way. It also blocked the loading bays and the gigantic container full of basic materials blocked the road access.
I sighed at the inconvenience and flew around to the street in front and landed there. It was relatively safe, since this was a better neighbourhood. That didn't an it wasn't going to be damaged if it was run into or that anyone passing by, either in a vehicle or on foot, wouldn't stop to try and break into the thing. I put a notice--not on it and went inside the warehouse.
It was completely bare and had nothing inside, like an airplane hangar. That was okay, though. I had a huge industrial printer to fill the place with what I needed and opened the large loading bay door near the printer.
Funnily enough, the huge printer was about the sa size as the charged up industrial replicator I had in my inventory. So, I switched them and had the thing make so anti-grav cargo movers and had to enlarge the loading bay door to almost twice the size to fit the thing inside. I went back out and used the sa cargo movers to move the cargo container inside as well.
Once I had them set at the back of the warehouse space, the real work began. Since I was now inside an enclosed space and no one could see what I was doing, I made myself an office, a security office, put up security caras everywhere inside and outside, and then set up huge areas that would be filled with the product I would be producing.
This also gave the opportunity to create a giant food replicator, which was just an upscale version of a normal replicator. It filled an entire corner of the warehouse and I had to set up conveyor belts and a stacking system for the created crates of food. After I did that, I created a copy of an armored limo, the one Carrie's mother used, and fed it to the industrial replicator.
Once it had the plans, I fed it a cyberdeck, a VR module, and a few other things to recreate Delamain's taxi. I didn't copy his limo, because he would automatically detect any new copy of himself. I knew how it was set up, thanks to my technomancy, and the industrial replicator made a blank version of it.
I checked it over and ensured it actually worked as both a normal limo and a cybernetically controlled one, and called Delamain to see how many of them he wanted and if he wanted smaller ones for cheaper fares. He said all he wanted was the sa trustworthy and fully tested vehicles and a hundred of them was plenty.
I then asked if he wanted them delivered or if he wanted to send over a relay to propagate himself into the new taxis. He chose delivery and I thought about constructing an upscale AV from the limo plans, then laughed. I had access to many different flying machines and the knowledge to construct them, so I made a cargo hauler shuttle disguised it as an AV.
With that as a cover, I then constructed six large hexagon cargo racks that could each hold 6 limos like the old style transfer truck car carriers inside of them. I hooked them together on a rotating central axis and made 2 more, making it more like a train instead of a normal AV. I installed hovertech throughout the whole thing to keep it aloft and then filled each of the racks with limos.
As a little bit of a trick, I added holographic imagers on the underside of the cargo and hooked them into the cargo shuttle's transporters. As I flew back from Delamain's, they would show the trash being lifted into the air into the cargo holds, when it actuality, it would be transported back here to the industrial replicator to convert it into energy.
Of course, this also ant a major modification to the warehouse roof to add a cargo bay door large enough for the new cargo hauler to leave without trouble. With an industrial replicator and tractor beams, and the plans for several kinds of starbases with similar bay doors, it was done in a matter of minutes and the added superstructure to handle the load and the shifting weight.
I changed myself into my Atlas persona and changed my corpo suit into a nice uniform with Atlas Incorporated logo on it. I added it to the cargo hauler as well, then added the company na all along each of the cargo racks. I entered the shuttle and hit the release for the warehouse's cargo bay doors.
I lifted off and I was sure it gained a lot of attention, since the cargo hauler was huge in comparison to anything else in the air. I closed the warehouse cargo bay doors when I was clear and very slowly flew the cargo hauler up to a height that avoided most of the flight traffic lanes, since I was pretending it wasn't very manoeuvrable.
I was in the air for barely five minutes when the ship was pinged with over 150 inquiries. So were official, from corporations, the NCPD, and City Hall. However, most of them were from disbelieving observers that had never seen anything that big flying before.
I set up an automated response, that I set for everyone, just to get the company's na out there. It said the huge thing was rely a cargo hauler from Atlas Incorporated that was making a cargo delivery before hauling trash away on the return trip. It also included the other services I offered, from cyberware, to food, to resources by the ton.
I laughed at almost getting double the responses back and most of them didn't believe and that it was a scam or fake advertising. Several of the official ones were quite insistent and ordered to produce my licenses and permits to operate industrial equipnt inside the city limits.
I had the perfect response to that and sent my registration for the industrial 3D printer in Night City Hall, which gave blanket permission to operate anywhere within the city limits. It was an oversight on their part that they thought I would need it to provide services and items for the benefit of the city and its inhabitants, which consisted mostly of the people in charge of the various corporations across the city.
I leisurely flew well above the skyscrapers and was soon joined by several other AVs. Two were from the NCPD and carried their heavy assault teams, one was from Trauma Team for so reason, and the last one was from PetroChem. I was pretty sure I knew why the last one was there, to see if I was using their patented fuel and if I was, why didn't they have a huge influx of cash from a new industrial buyer.
I knew they were burning a lot of fuel themselves from pushing their AVs hard and flying so high, so I checked my destination. The flight paths were clear, so I started my descent. The police AVs lit their lights and hit their sirens as they demanded I stop my unapproved flight plan and needed to land for inspection.
I laughed in their faces and called them idiots for ordering to do what I was already doing. I also told them there was no flight authority in the city for to file a flight plan with, which was why I checked for all of them and avoided them by flying above them. I also told them to get a warrant if they wanted to search inside my vehicle with no probable cause and that I'd sue them into bankruptcy if they tried.
That shut them up and they killed the sirens. They left the lights on, though. I silently thanked them for bringing even more attention from the people living in the city, because the pings of inquiry I received had increased to a thousand a minute and they all received my automated response.
You gotta love free advertising. I thought and gently hovered just above the ground, since the cargo hauler didn't have landing gear. “Hey, Delamain.” I said over an open signal. “Where do you want the new rides?”
“I don't have parking available for them all.” Delamain answered. “Can you drop about 30 of them off and let work on them? If you keep feeding them to , I can have them all off and running in about an hour.”
“Oh, don't worry about that, choom of my choom. I'll drop off the carriers, too.” I said and shocked everyone as the three hex shaped cargo containers along the left of the ship opened and six vehicles on a standard car carrying rack that let them drive off, floated out and set down at the edge of the parking lot.
That was 18 luxury limos in 3 racks, then the entire back of the cargo ship rotated to bring the next hex into position on the left side and they opened up. Another 3 racks of 6 cars floated out and were set down beside the others. This repeated 4 more tis and left 18 car carrying racks in the parking lot and they were spaced far enough apart that they could all be emptied without trouble.
“There you go, Delamain. 108 new limos for you to add to your fleet.” I said. “You can keep the racks for parking, too. Save you so space.”
“Thank you, Atlas.” Delamain said, genuinely grateful. “I've already transferred the agreed upon price to your corporate account.”
“Thank you for choosing Atlas Incorporated for your business.” I responded. “I have the plans on file, so if you need any more, send the deets.”
“I will.” Delamain said and cut the call.
The other AVs around didn't land, either. There wasn't really room. I thought about saying sothing, then shrugged. I closed up the cargo hatches and floated straight up. Not surprisingly, all four AVs followed . Well, they followed my high flight path and stayed lower to the ground. They used much less fuel that way.
I flew at the sa casual pace I pretended such a huge cargo vessel needed to, and headed to the more prolific area of the city that had piles and piles of garbage that filled alleyways and side streets. I lowered down and the other AVs moved aside for , which I thought was considerate of them. They were really just getting out of the way and hoped I did sothing illegal for them to arrest for.
I started the hologram that played garbage bags and refuse being sucked up into the ship and teleported the actual garbage back to the warehouse, where the industrial replicator used tractor beams to suck it all in and converted it to energy.
I slowly flew along the first alleyway and left it spotless behind . It also revealed two discarded and naked bodies, since I had teleported everything else away, even the overflowing dumpsters that had been hidden underneath literal tons of garbage.
One of the NCPD AVs and the Trauma Team AV diverted from following and landed near the two corpses. According to the transporter scanner, both bodies had been stripped of cyberware and I was sure a few organs as well. I also guessed that wasn't going to be the only bodies my clean sweep was going to reveal.
I flew down another back alley and cleaned it out as well, then received a warning from the industrial replicator. Its stores were almost full. I sent the command to start producing dical grade titanium ingots and set the on-site teleporter to put them in the designated area.
The PetroChem AV eventually flew off and sent several encrypted ssage back to their Corpo HQ. I guessed they didn't detect any exhaust with their chemical residue and realized I used a different propulsion system than every other AV on the market.
I ntally shrugged at that, because what were they going to do? Sue for not using their expensive fuel when I had an alternative? My thoughts paused at that and I sighed, because they could to stop from sharing it. I imdiately filed more exclusive patents and locked them to private use only, so they couldn't be produced or sold comrcially. That should cover my ass with both PetroChem and Night City Hall.
I crisscrossed the entire Santo Domingo district and had every person still awake send inquiries about how the hell I had taken all of the garbage. I had started there, mostly because it was attached to the actual district wide governnt approved garbage dump.
By the ti I reached the edge of the Santo Domingo district, I had to change the industrial replicator to stainless steel to be stored outside because the titanium ingots had filled the available space. That was a shock, because I didn't think I had gathered that much material to convert.
Of course, now that I was at the actual dump, a canyon full of discarded items and garbage galore, the industrial replicator gained detailed plans for every piece of technology fed into it. Refrigerators, air conditioners, vehicles of all kinds, damaged AVs of all makes and models.
I even found a huge cargo AV that was a complete fuel hog and probably the reason PetroChem had been dogging . I should have been making them tons of eddies to operate such a huge machine and they were earning nothing from .
That reminded about the AV I had left parked in front of the warehouse and I decided I should move it inside to keep it safe. I set the cargo shuttle up to keep flying on its own and to ignore any other company's property that was operating in the area. The cargo belts and the recycling facilities from PetroChem were the biggest things I had to avoid, so I made sure to steer clear of them.
As I remotely piloted the limo AV into the warehouse for an overhaul, the shuttle found a Scav nest and a few hidden caches of weapons and supplies hidden among the trash. Let tell you, they were quite surprised to have their entire base transported away from them as they fell 20 feet to the actual ground. Most of them survived just long enough for the NCPD AV to divebomb them and two Assault Teams hopped out and tore them apart with automatic gunfire.
I might have annoyed them by not complying with them as soon as they appeared; but, they were quite happy to clean up the Scavs my cargo hauler revealed. When I reached the point I figured the cargo hauler was full, I signalled the NCPD AV I was leaving and thanked them for the escort.
To my surprise, I actually received a polite response from the pilot and he said they'd send another escort the next ti I made a garbage run if I notified them an hour in advance. I agreed and thanked him again, then rose very high in the air and above all the other traffic patterns. I flew back to the warehouse at the sa slow pace and opened the cargo bay doors. I lowered down into the warehouse and out of sight.
The parking lot beside the warehouse for the loading bay was full of steel beams 30 feet high, hundreds of tons worth, and it made laugh. It was ridiculous how much energy had been harvested in such a short run and I had barely touched the governnt landfill. I had just lucked out by making a skimming flight across various areas to gain a cross section of the things people had dumped there.
It was a heck of a lot more than I thought I would have and I posted them on the company website as available and could be delivered. I didn't receive any imdiate orders, probably because it was so late at night, so I checked online for what I needed for my cyberware business to be successful.
I decided to focus on better eyes with compound functions, mory expansion chips, augnt devices for existing cybernetics to give them more lifting power, mostly for arms and legs, and software upgrades for pretty much everything a cybernetic body needed.
I used a normal replicator to produce one of each thing, packaged them, and then used my copy power to make thousands of copies and stored them. With that done, I locked the place up and stepped from there to my purchased office downtown. I set it up and put Cyberdyne Systems up under the Atlas Incorporated sign and then set up the place to be a retail sale spot for everything I offered.
Since I could be in two places at once, if I was careful, I used Dupli-Paul's power and split myself into two Atlas bodies. I changed my original back into Veder and left Atlas there to run the place as I stepped from there to an alley near my building. I entered the front entrance and logged in at the security desk. The new night guy was asleep and I walked by him and entered the elevator.
There were only a few hours left before I had to get up for school and I entered my apartnt. It looked quite empty and I checked the logs and the security footage. Gloria hadn't shown up for work and I checked for her with my GPS program. She was with Mama Welles at the El Coyote Bar and had been there since the bar opened the night before.
I sighed at that and revoked her EMT access to my apartnt. If she didn't want to work taking care of , then I wasn't going to force her. I checked my cyberdeck for any ssages and there was nothing, so I went to the bathroom and put my corpo suit into the presser. I hung up the gun and holster in the closet and went to bed.
I had a feeling tomorrow was going to be a busy day, for the both of . That thought made chuckle and I went to sleep with a smile on my face that matched the smile on the face of Atlas as he put the front of the shop together with glass display cases that showed off full size examples of the things our corporation offered.
