Ding Yuejun moved quickly, and with the help of Yiyi and Mo Xiaohong, they soon wrapped a large plate of dumplings.
But before they could cook the dumplings, Grandma Jiang’s voice ca from the doorway, "Yue Jun, Yiyi, are you there?"
Upon hearing the voice, Yiyi hurried to open the door, "Grandma Jiang, we’re all here."
"Yiyi, I’ve prepared dinner already. Co over to our place for dinner tonight," Grandma Jiang warmly invited, introducing a well-dressed middle-aged woman standing next to her with a smile, "This is my daughter-in-law, Jiahui. Their whole family is over at our place today. They heard about how you saved the old man and wanted to express their gratitude."
"Hello, Yiyi, thank you so much for saving Dad. We only heard about it when we ca over for lunch today, otherwise, we would have co to thank you sooner," Shen Jiahui said, looking at Yiyi with a face full of gratitude.
Upon hearing this, Yiyi quickly waved her hand and said, "Grandma Jiang, you really don’t have to, and besides, we’ve already wrapped the dumplings, so we’ll just stay for dinner."
"No problem, bring the dumplings you made with you. You can just cook them when you get there," Shen Jiahui also persuaded, "Yes, bring the dumplings with you, and I’ll cook them as soon as we arrive."
Seeing the enthusiasm of Grandma Jiang and her daughter-in-law, Ding Yuejun felt sowhat embarrassed but eventually nodded in agreent, "Then we’ll trouble you."
Seeing her mother agree, Yiyi naturally said nothing more, and they directly followed Grandma Jiang to the Jiang Family.
"Yiyi, you’re here, co inside and have a seat," Grandpa Jiang greeted with a smile as soon as he saw Yiyi and the others arrive.
"Dad, is this the young lady who saved you?" Beside Grandpa Jiang stood a father and son duo. The father was a cultured middle-aged man, and the son was a handso young man, both looking at Yiyi with curiosity at this mont.
Grandpa Jiang nodded and said to his son, "Yes, it was Yiyi who saved ."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yanzu hurriedly stepped forward and bowed to Yiyi, "Thank you, young lady. If it weren’t for you, my father might not have gotten back up."
Yiyi did not expect such solemnity from Jiang Yanzu and quickly stepped aside, "Uncle Jiang, there’s really no need for this."
At this mont, Shen Jiahui stepped forward and pulled her husband aside, "Yanzu, you’re scaring Yiyi."
Grandma Jiang laughed, "Alright, let’s hurry inside. I’m sure Yiyi and the others are hungry."
Only then did the group enter the living room and sit down. Mo Xiaohong looked around curiously, getting a bit of an understanding of the Jiang Family’s living conditions. The courtyard they rented was nice, and the indoor decor was elegant and cozy. Although the Jiang’s courtyard was sowhat smaller, it was more exquisite, indicating the Jiang Family was quite well-off.
"I’ll go and cook the dumplings now; they’ll be ready to eat once they’re done," Shen Jiahui said, carrying the dumplings to the kitchen.
Ding Yuejun, feeling uncomfortable just sitting there, stood up to help, "I’ll go and help."
Once the dumplings were cooked, Grandma Jiang called everyone to the table.
With his son’s family visiting and Yiyi’s family as well, Grandpa Jiang was in a great mood. He happily poured a glass of fruit wine, "Yanzu, have a drink with Dad. It’s been a while since we drank together."
"Dad, you really shouldn’t drink," his son advised.
Hearing this, Grandpa Jiang glared at Jiang Yanzu, "I’m only having this small glass."
"Grandpa Jiang, you can only have this small glass. Any more would really not be good," Yiyi added.
Hearing Yiyi’s words, Grandpa Jiang chuckled and said to his son, "See, Yiyi says this little glass is fine, so it’s okay."
Though Jiang Yanzu still showed so disapproval, he remained silent since Yiyi had saved his father’s life.
"Grandpa Jiang, I’ll brew so Lingzhi wine for you in a few days when I’m free. Then you can drink a glass every day without worrying about any health impacts. The more Lingzhi wine you drink, the healthier you’ll beco." Since new small Lingzhi mushrooms had grown in her space, Yiyi planned to use them to make Lingzhi pills and brew wine for Grandpa Jiang, knowing it wouldn’t use much Lingzhi.
Grandpa Jiang was overjoyed to hear this.
"Wow, Yiyi, you can make wine? That’s wonderful. I’ll be looking forward to your Lingzhi wine," Shen Jiahui exclaid, full of surprise as she looked at Yiyi.
Yiyi felt a bit embarrassed by the praise, "Actually, I only know a little bit."
"Yiyi, you’re indeed quite remarkable," Grandpa Jiang praised, then brought up a previous topic, "Yiyi, if you make dicine in the future, have you thought about selling it? I have a traditional dicine hall called Huichun Hall in North City. If you have extra dicine pills, you can sell them there."
"Huichun Hall?"
Yiyi didn’t expect that the Huichun Hall she visited before was owned by Grandpa Jiang. What a delightful coincidence, "Grandpa Jiang, if I make extra dicine pills in the future, I’ll sell them through Huichun Hall."
"Alright," Grandpa Jiang nodded with a smile.
Jiang Xueluo watched Yiyi with curiosity, feeling surprised. Grandpa had always been serious, yet he was so amiable towards this young girl, sothing Xueluo himself had never experienced.
Noticing her son’s gaze, Shen Jiahui said, "Yiyi, this is Xueluo. He’s probably a few years older than you, so he’ll be like your big brother from now on."
Hearing this, Jiang Xueluo openly introduced himself to Yiyi, "Hi, I’m Jiang Xueluo. I’m seventeen this year."
Upon hearing this, Yiyi smiled softly, "Hello, I’m Mo Yiyi. But I might be older than you—I’m also seventeen and was born in the first month."
"Oh... you’re seventeen too."
Not just Jiang Xueluo, but even Grandpa Jiang and the others were a bit surprised, as Yiyi looked more like she was thirteen or fourteen.
Seeing their surprised expressions, Ding Yuejun felt sowhat distressed.
Yiyi had not eaten well since she was little, so she was always shorter than her peers, unlike Mo ina, who was tall and slender. Thinking about this made her even more resentful towards the Mo family.
Finally, Shen Jiahui spoke, "Then Xueluo will have to call Yiyi ’sister’ from now on. But you know, girls undergo great changes; in a couple of years, Yiyi will surely grow into a fine young lady."
