Mikyle left the bathroom, rubbing a towel to his hair in an attempt to dry it. He walked into the large closet where he picked out his clothes for the night. Unlike most nobles, Mikyle preferred to dress himself instead of leaving it to soone else. It was safer, and he felt more comfortable doing it that way.

Phillip, who had just returned from delivering Mikyle’s letter, knocked on the bed chamber’s door. "Sire, the King is here to see you."

"I’ll be there in a minute." Mikyle finished getting dressed, not caring if he seed improper because he was going to host the king in his sleepwear.

Mikyle walked out of his bed chambers and into the small reception area that was attached to it. "Greetings, Your Majesty."

"Kyle," his father used his nickna, a smile softening his handso features. "Who was the target in today’s assassination attempt?" His father asked, getting straight to business.

"I assu Lady Lianna," Mikyle answered, taking a seat across from his father. "I’ve tasked Henry with finding out."

The king nodded his head, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Your mother ca to earlier, after the incident. It’s been long enough, you need to bring in a personal doctor that you can trust."

Mikyle nodded his head. He had been planning on bringing Mabel Verne, an assistant to Doctor redith Howell, who was also Henry’s wife.

Mabel was a sixteen-year-old that the Howells had found on the streets four years ago. Seeing that she had a way with plants, Doctor redith took her in under her wing.

The only problem with bringing Mabel in was that she was a girl around his age. Rumors were bound to spread. The rumors that could arise could include things like Mikyle might not actually be into n, that Mabel was his secret lover, and other such rumors of that nature.

He could always bring Doctor redith, a married woman, but she had her own projects that he had assigned to her.

"I have soone in mind, but I can’t afford the rumors that will start with bringing her here."

King Asher nodded his head. "Introduce her to and I’ll find a way to assign her to you that would not beget rumors. You need soone on your side who will cover for you since you are not willing to let others know about the Dragon Blood you possess."

Dragon Blood simply referred to one of Valron descent who had inherited the Great Dragon’s will and power.

During the end of the Great Elental War a thousand years ago, the surviving Kings of each ancient race passed their wills onto the groups of humans who had supported them. One of the ancient kings, Velron the Dragon, also known as the Giver of Life, had descended onto the human populace and commanded that a kingdom be built in his na. If the humans did so, then the appointed ruling family of the Velron Kingdom would one day have a descendant born with the elental powers of fire and light, while also inheriting the great dragon’s destiny.

Mikyle was the first Velron royal to be born with both elental powers. If anyone were to find out, they would demand that he be nad Crown Prince instead of Nathaniel, and that was sothing that Mikyle did not want.

"Yes, I know. I’ll have her guardian introduce her to you."

The king rely nodded his head, his red eyes lingering on Mikyle. "Wait in your palace until the weekend is over and your mother has cald down." He stood up then. "I’m off to see Nathaniel. He has been in a rage over you and Lianna. I need to make sure that boy stays away from the prison cells before he does sothing he can’t take back."

The corners of Mikyle’s lips tugged down in a frown. "I have a sleeping drought if it cos to it," Mikyle offered, afraid that his brother may kill their only current source of information regarding the assassination attempt.

The king shook his head. "Hopefully it will not co to that." The conversation ended after that and Mikyle stood up to see his father out.

Mikyle was getting ready to enter his bed chambers for the night when Phillip popped in.

"Sire, a courier ca by when you were conversing with the king. I inspected the package upon receiving it. The materials you ordered to be made two months ago have finally arrived. I sat the box in your office so as to not disturb you."

A grin spread across Mikyle’s face. "Bring it here."

"Yes, Sire."

Phillip soon returned with the neatly boxed package. Mikyle opened it to find two golden compact mirrors inside. Embedded in the top of the mirror casings were three Mana Crystals that had been imbued with different Elental powers; water, air, and space. On the bottom of the mirror casing was a five-digit number. In the bottom of the box were instructions on how to use the mirrors.

Mikyle grabbed a mirror and looked at the number on the bottom of it before handing it to Phillip.

Taking the other mirror, he poured so of his Mana into the crystals. Flipping the mirror open, he spoke the necessary sentence that had been included in the letter. "I wish to converse with 01127."

The smooth surface of the mirror rippled. An image soon appeared on the surface after the ripples died down. Mikyle could clearly see Phillip, who had also opened up his own compact.

Phillip’s eyes widened. "Marvelous. I can see you clearly, Sire." His voice echoed from the compact in Mikyle’s hand, causing Phillip’s eyebrows to shoot up into his hairline. "This will make communication much easier!"

Mikyle nodded. "I agree. Send your mirror and the instructions to Howell. Also, provide the craftsman with more funds and request that more of these be made."

"Yes, Sire."

Mikyle peered down at the little trinket in his hand. He had wanted to create sothing to make communication with his subordinates easier and had spent the last year and a half on trying to co up with sothing that could work. This was the fruit of his labor.

After examining each Elent and their corresponding powers to their core, he found which ones could complent each other to work in a way that was similar to the Warp Portal. The Space Crystal allowed for a physical connection between the mirrors to be made, while the Water Crystal allowed for an image to appear between the connected mirrors courtesy of the Space Crystal. The last and final touch was the Air Crystal which allowed for sound to travel to allow for a physical connection instead of just a visible one.

He finally had a secure communication route with Henry and the rest of Dor-Shey Da’at.

He closed the compact and flipped it around, viewing it from all angles. Maybe in the future, they could think about introducing them to the market. The only problem was the na. Mikyle had left it up to Phillip, which was a small mishap on his part.

Phillip placed the compact in his pocket as he turned to leave. "Sire, I believe that if we introduce these Portal Communicators to the market in three years, they’ll beco a huge success." Portal Communicator. What a simple and explanatory na. But there was still ti to change it.

Three years? Hmm, I was thinking more like one, two at the most. But not after I make so adjustnts to it. I don’t want to release such a superb item on the first round. It would also be problematic if our enemies were to get a hold of it.

Maybe I could take out the Water Crystal to prevent visible communication. . .or maybe take the Air Crystal to prevent verbal communication. As for the other problem, maybe I could install so sort of tracking or recording device on them?

Once Phillip left, Mikyle finally entered his bed chambers to lie down for the night. That’s when his father’s words finally registered. The king had said the ’weekend’ not the ’day’.

Mikyle leaned back onto his bed with a groan, running his hands down his face. He was supposed to have a date this weekend!
