Ethan Caldwell held him as they stood before the mirror. Julian Sterling cast a glance at their reflection; staring back was a very young man with almond-shaped eyes brimming with allure. Although he was dressed in a suit that exuded maturity, that beautiful, innate charm seed to emanate from his very bones. This was especially true of his glistening almond eyes, which looked as though he had just been thoroughly loved, and his rosy, youthful complexion. Added to that was the fact that he was being carried...
Julian Sterling pulled a face, his eyes slanting upwards as he shot a sideways glance at Ethan Caldwell: "What are you looking at? Admiring the state of soone you worked so hard he can’t even get out of bed?"
Ethan Caldwell gazed at his face and suddenly clicked his tongue. Instead of answering, he turned Julian Sterling’s face toward the mirror and pointed it out to him: "Do you see? This is you at your most beautiful."
If one disregarded the fact that he was being carried, Julian Sterling looked quite dashing in his suit overall. However, he lacked the sharp edge of a business elite. A mont ago, no matter how one looked at him, Julian had simply resembled a child wearing stolen adult clothes.
But when he scolded Ethan Caldwell, even though he was acting spoiled, Julian Sterling unconsciously displayed the expression he had used most often in his past life - eyes slightly slanted upwards, brows furrowed. It was a sharpness embedded in his soul that nothing could replace.
Just as Ethan Caldwell had said, that appearance was his most beautiful. Captivating, composed, yet dignified.
"Sotis your aura makes feel like I am facing soone of my own age, soone who has held the reins of a family clan for just as long." Ethan Caldwell said as he kissed the rim of his ear, his favorite gesture: "Baby, in your past life, were you the eldest young master, or perhaps even the chairman of a major conglorate, making everyone tremble with a single shout?"
Hearing Ethan Caldwell say that, Julian Sterling froze for a mont. A mont later, he smiled and glared at the man: "If I had that kind of capability, I would have already overthrown the Sterling family myself. Would there even be a chance for you to carry ho?"
Ethan Caldwell laughed at that. He adjusted Julian Sterling’s clothes, and then the two of them left the house. Naturally, Ethan carried Julian down. At first, the younger man struggled and insisted on walking himself, but after taking only a few steps toward the elevator, his legs trembled and he was panting heavily. Julian Sterling could only give up and let Ethan Caldwell do whatever he wanted.
They took the elevator straight from the bedroom down to the garage. As Ethan Caldwell placed him in the car and fastened Julian Sterling’s seatbelt, he suddenly spoke: "When we have so free ti, co visit Grandpa Arthur with , alright?"
Julian Sterling was slightly surprised, but he smiled and replied, "Alright. I’ll learn a few more dishes so I can cook for him then."
"Tornting alone is enough. Grandpa Arthur is old, you should spare him."
"Is it tornting you, or you tornting , huh?"
"It’s all the sa, all the sa."
The two of them continued to chat idly until the car drove into the garage of the Caldwell Empire.
Before Ethan Caldwell arrived, he had ssaged his head assistant, who also served as his head secretary, to tidy up the lounge within his office and buy so pre-cut fruit. His office was vast; aside from the workspace, it featured a lounge equipped with a bed and furniture offering full anities. Inside, there was even a dual bathroom and toilet which was extrely convenient, completely separated from the other departnts on this floor.
In reality, Ethan Caldwell’s office was located up on the 22nd floor, essentially occupying the entire level. On the right was his working area, adjacent to the duty room for the head assistant along with two or three desks. Occasionally, a few people from the secretarial departnt or assistant pool would be transferred up from the 21st floor to work for a short period. On the left were the conference room and the reception room for important partners, which were rarely opened under normal circumstances.
This area was served by three elevators. Two were standard elevators used for receiving guests and for staff transit, obviously connecting to the floors below. The remaining one was a dedicated elevator, traveling directly from Ethan Caldwell’s private parking area to the front of his office door. Naturally, this elevator could stop at all floors in the building, but it required his fingerprint. This ant that aside from Ethan Caldwell, perhaps only Grandpa Arthur could use this elevator.
Ethan Caldwell drove straight to his private spot, then carried Julian Sterling into the dedicated elevator. Generally aware that no one would see them here, Julian Sterling didn’t mind. As for whether the security guards monitoring the caras happened to see, he resigned himself to it; his legs simply couldn’t support him for long.
Ethan Caldwell carried him straight to his office. Currently, only the head secretary was on the floor. When she saw her boss carrying soone out of the elevator, she hurriedly bowed her head, eyes on her nose, nose on her heart, not daring to make a sound.
Only when the sound of the door closing rang in her ears did she let out a breath. The head secretary had originally intended to go down to the lower floor to work; normally, she wouldn’t stay here much unless the CEO needed her. However, given the situation, it seed better to obediently stay put.
It wasn’t that the head secretary wasn’t curious about the person being held by Ethan Caldwell. However, having reached this position, she naturally possessed so intelligence. It was best not to concern oneself with matters that were none of one’s business; curiosity could kill the cat. As long as the boss wasn’t breaking the law, she just needed to work obediently and collect her salary.
Just then, the special line rang. The head secretary hurriedly picked up the receiver, and Ethan Caldwell’s voice ca through: "Helen, have soone prepare the reception room. Later, when the people from Iris Visuals arrive, invite them straight up here."
The head secretary was startled to hear this, but she still assented repeatedly before sending internal ssages to her subordinates as well as the relevant departnts, including the receptionists on duty at the front desk.
A few people ssaged her in confusion: [Helen, is our company preparing to do sothing related to art? Why are we involved with Iris Visuals?]
The head secretary’s na was Helen Lloyd. People in the company usually called her Helen, or more formally, Secretary Lloyd. The people sending ssages were close to her, so their tone wasn’t very controlled, but Helen Lloyd was a person of propriety. She didn’t say much, simply replying:
[Stop gossiping and focus on work. Mr. Caldwell personally gave these instructions; if you ss it up, watch out or you’ll be fired.]
After sending the ssage, she put her phone away and began drafting the necessary docunts. It seed the President placed great importance on this eting, which also ant that today she would be the primary secretary recording the minutes.
Outside, dozens of people were bustling about because of a single phone call from Ethan Caldwell, but the man himself was very leisurely massaging his partner’s waist.
