The evening in Star Harbor carried a quiet elegance, and nowhere was it more alive than at The Atelier.

The entire restaurant had been reserved.

Every light inside glowed with a soft golden warmth, reflecting gently off polished wooden floors and crystal glassware arranged with perfection. The tables were dressed in fine linen, each centerpiece carefully placed with fresh flowers that added a delicate fragrance to the air. The open glass panels revealed a glimpse of the ocean beyond, where the fading sunlight painted the horizon in shades of amber and violet.

The atmosphere felt intimate yet grand.

Every detail whispered preparation.

Every corner held purpose.

Daniel moved across the floor, his eyes scanning every arrangent with precision.

"Make sure the center table is aligned properly."

His voice was calm but firm.

"The guests will arrive any mont."

Staff mbers hurried quietly, adjusting chairs, polishing cutlery, ensuring everything was flawless.

Nearby, Monica stood observing, occasionally stepping in to assist, her presence adding a sense of control to the already organized chaos.

Inside the kitchen, Elena gave the final touches to the dishes. Steam rose from carefully prepared plates, aromas blending together in a way that promised sothing special. She moved with practiced ease, tasting, adjusting, perfecting.

Once satisfied, she stepped out.

Daniel turned to her.

"Is everything okay?"

Elena nodded, a soft smile on her face.

"Everything is done."

Her phone rang.

She picked it up.

"Hello, Uncle Wilfred."

Her tone ward instantly.

"Yes, everything is set."

A small pause.

"Whose birthday is it though?"

Wilfred's voice ca through, steady and aningful.

"She is family… of this country."

Elena's expression softened.

"That sounds very special."

"We are on the way."

"Yes."

The call ended.

Monica stepped closer.

"Is it going to be very busy?"

Elena gave a small nod.

"Uncle Wilfred made this reservation weeks ago."

Monica smiled faintly, as if rembering sothing.

"Now I know what this is about."

Elena looked at her, curious.

"You do?"

Monica crossed her arms lightly.

"You will know soon enough."

A teasing tone slipped in.

"Let boss arrive first."

Elena blinked slightly.

"Hmm?"

Before she could ask more, Asher ca running across the floor.

"Big bro coming too?"

June followed quickly behind him.

"Do not run, daddy said not to."

Asher slowed imdiately.

"Sorry daddy."

He looked around eagerly.

"Where is big bro… big sister Mona?"

Monica smiled.

"He is coming soon."

Asher nodded.

"Okay."

Hope joined in, her excitent impossible to hide.

"I am so excited for the big cake mama made today."

Asher jumped slightly.

" too."

Daniel chuckled softly.

"Looks like our guests have started arriving."

He adjusted his coat.

"Let welco them."

Outside, the city lights had begun to glow as the sports car moved smoothly through the streets, finally slowing down near Star Central Mall before continuing toward The Atelier.

Juniper sat beside Miles, dressed beautifully, her simple elegance enhanced by the outfit he had helped her choose earlier. The day had already been overwhelming in the best way possible.

Lunch.

Shopping.

Monts she had never expected.

She looked at him, her eyes soft.

"Thank you for today, Miles."

Her lips curved into a gentle smile.

"I will rember this day."

Miles glanced at her briefly, then lifted one hand from the steering wheel.

His fingers moved calmly.

"The day is not over yet."

Juniper blinked.

"Hmm? There is more?"

Before he could answer, the car slowed and stopped.

She looked outside.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"The Atelier?"

She turned to him.

"I heard the food here is amazing."

Miles smiled faintly.

He stepped out, walked around, and opened the door for her, offering his hand.

Juniper looked at him, her smile growing, and placed her hand in his as she stepped out.

Together, they walked toward the entrance.

The staff opened the doors.

And the mont she stepped inside…

Everything changed.

The entire hall was filled.

n in uniform.

Faces she recognized.

mbers of her father's unit.

Standing together.

And at the center…

General Wilfred Wraithebourne.

Juniper froze.

Her breath caught.

Her eyes trembled as they moved across the room.

mories.

Faces.

Fragnts of her father's world.

All gathered here.

Tears welled up instantly.

Miles stepped in front of her gently, his presence grounding her.

He extended his hand.

She looked at him.

Then slowly placed her hand in his again.

He guided her forward.

Step by step.

Toward the center.

Where a beautifully decorated cake stood.

Elena watched from a distance.

"There he is."

Daniel nodded, understanding dawning.

"He served in the army too… now it makes sense."

Monica added softly,

"The girl is the daughter of Major Walsh."

A brief silence.

"She cannot hear."

Elena's expression shifted, sadness touching her eyes before a warm smile replaced it.

"Then let us celebrate properly."

As Juniper reached the center, the soldiers stood straighter.

Wilfred stepped forward.

His expression, usually firm, softened.

He spoke slowly, clearly, so she could read his lips.

"Today… we celebrate not just your birthday."

He placed a gentle hand over his chest.

"We celebrate the daughter of a hero."

Juniper's tears fell freely.

One of the soldiers stepped forward and handed her a small box.

Inside was her father's badge.

Cleaned.

Polished.

Preserved.

Her hands trembled as she took it.

Wilfred continued.

"Major Walsh was one of the finest n I have commanded."

His voice carried pride.

"And you…"

He looked at her with quiet respect.

"Are his strength."

The room remained silent.

Not out of formality.

But out of respect.

Miles stood beside her, watching quietly.

Then he gently nudged the knife toward her.

Juniper looked at him.

He signed slowly.

"This is your mont."

She nodded.

With trembling hands, she cut the cake.

The room erupted into applause.

Not loud enough to overwhelm.

But strong enough to be felt.

Soldiers stepped forward one by one, greeting her, offering small words she could read, gestures she could understand.

Elena and Daniel joined, welcoming her warmly.

Hope and Asher stood nearby, watching with bright eyes, already treating her like family.

Monica observed quietly, a small smile on her face.

The evening unfolded into sothing unforgettable.

Laughter.

Food.

Stories shared through gestures, expressions, and presence.

A celebration that was not just about a birthday.

But about belonging.

About honor.

About family.

Later, as the night softened and the crowd thinned, Juniper stood near the window, looking out at the ocean lights.

Miles stood beside her.

She looked at him.

Her eyes still carried traces of tears, but her smile was real.

She signed slowly.

"I was not alone."

Miles watched her hands.

Then nodded.

"You never were."

And for the first ti in a long while…

Juniper truly believed it.

…..

Juniper stood surrounded by people who once stood beside her father, their presence filling the empty space she had carried for so long. Their gestures were warm, their expressions genuine, and even without sound, she could feel everything they were trying to say. Laughter echoed around her in a way she could not hear, yet she understood it through smiles, through movent, through the warmth in the room.

A family she did not know she still had.

While she remained at the center of it all, Miles quietly stepped aside, moving toward a quieter corner of the hall. General Wilfred followed him, his posture still composed, but his eyes softer than before.

Miles looked at him.

"So, General… I could have done this task even without any conditions."

Wilfred gave a faint smile, nodding slowly.

"I know."

His voice carried sincerity.

"And thank you for today."

He glanced briefly toward Juniper.

"Walsh was a good man."

There was a weight in his tone, the kind that ca from years of command and loss.

"The sign language he introduced in the unit…"

Wilfred's gaze lingered for a mont.

"It was not just for operations."

He looked back at Miles.

"He created it for his daughter."

Miles listened quietly.

"She was always part of his world."

Wilfred continued.

"Even when she could not hear… he made sure she could still belong."

Miles nodded slightly, his expression thoughtful.

"Even though I did not know any of your nas back then…"

He looked toward the group.

"He stood out."

A small pause.

"He was a great man."

Wilfred took a slow breath, then his expression shifted, becoming sharper.

"As for the Mordecai family…"

He reached into his coat and pulled out a small flash drive.

Without hesitation, he handed it to Miles.

"I know you would eventually find everything yourself."

His voice lowered.

"But let make it easier."

Miles took the drive, his fingers tightening slightly around it.

Wilfred's eyes hardened.

"Everything I have on them is in there."

A brief silence passed.

"It includes their weaknesses."

His tone turned colder.

"They are parasites in this world."

A beat.

"Go ahead and remove them."

He looked directly at Miles.

"I will handle the legal side of things if it cos to that."

Miles t his gaze.

"Thank you, General."

Before anything more could be said, Elena approached them, her presence imdiately softening the atmosphere.

"Uncle Wilfred, are you not going to eat?"

She smiled gently.

"The food is getting cold."

Wilfred let out a small breath, the tension easing from his shoulders.

"Coming."

He turned slightly.

"Let us eat."

Miles gave a faint smile.

"I am hungry too."

Elena stepped closer to Miles, her eyes filled with quiet pride.

"I am proud of you, my son."

Miles looked at her for a mont, then smiled.

The warmth of that mont lingered as they walked back toward the others.

Vespera Police Departnt.

The night had not settled into peace.

Lucas stepped out of the building, the air outside heavier than before. The case had already begun to twist beyond simple investigation, and sothing about it felt… wrong.

He walked toward his car, unlocking it with a click.

Just as he reached for the door, his phone rang.

He picked it up imdiately.

"Yes?"

The voice on the other end sounded urgent.

"Captain… the security guard's family is missing."

Lucas froze.

"What?"

"There are signs of struggle in the house."

Lucas's expression hardened instantly.

His grip on the phone tightened.

"Now this cos under our jurisdiction."

His voice carried a sharp edge.

"Let us see what the Chief does this ti."

He turned slightly, already moving.

"Start the investigation imdiately."

His tone was firm.

"Find them."

"Yes, sir."

The call ended.

Lucas stood still for a mont, his mind racing.

Then he unlocked his car and got in.

Before starting the engine, he picked up his phone again and typed a short ssage.

'Look into Chief Lin.'

He sent it.

Then leaned back slightly, his eyes narrowing.

Sothing bigger was unfolding.

He was not going to let it slip away.
