The room fell silent as the weight of the broadcast settled into every corner like a heavy fog. Gibson sat with his head in his hands, shaking, while Elfric remained frozen in place, his gaze locked on the screen that had just shattered their legacy.

Miles stood slowly, his voice calm but slicing through the tension like a knife."Monica."

Monica straightened slightly, her voice composed. "Yes, boss?"

That word—boss—hit Gibson like a bullet. His head snapped up, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Boss?" he repeated, looking from Monica to Miles.

The realization was dawning in Elfric’s eyes too. He staggered back a step, as if the floor had betrayed him.

"No..." he whispered. "No. That’s not possible."

Gibson was staring at Miles now, panic overtaking the last of his dignity."You... you’re the owner? You’re the one behind Reaper Entertainnt?"

Miles didn’t respond right away. He simply gave a calm, knowing smile—one that sent chills down their spines. Then he stepped closer, slowly.

"What did you think?" he said. "That you got the project because you were clever? That this was luck?"

He let the question hang in the air before his expression darkened.

"Thief or not, you were getting the project anyway. All I did was add a little spice to the process."

He turned his head slightly.

"Monica. Call them in."

Without hesitation, Monica tapped her phone. A soft chi rang from the intercom. The glass doors opened monts later, and two uniford police officers entered the room, followed by a plainclothes detective .

The lead officer stepped forward.

"Gibson Winstone. Elfric Willise. You are under arrest for corporate espionage, evidence tampering, bribery, and orchestrating the fraudulent collapse of Sterling Enterprises seventeen years ago."

Gibson lunged up, eyes wild. "You can’t do this to us! This is illegal!"

"We’re board mbers!" Elfric barked in disbelief. "You have no right!"

Miles walked up slowly, looking down on them both. His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper.

"Don’t worry," he said. "You’re not going to a normal prison."

Their protests turned to panic. Gibson thrashed against the officers as they grabbed him, while Elfric went limp, his face white as chalk.

"You don’t have that kind of power!" Gibson shouted.

The detective spoke coldly. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say—"

"Take them in," Miles ordered.

The officers didn’t hesitate. Gibson was dragged out, still shouting threats. Elfric followed, eyes empty, steps heavy with defeat.

As the door began to close behind them, Miles raised his voice one last ti.

"You should’ve buried the past better."

The door shut with a quiet hiss. The room fell into silence again, broken only by the distant hum of the city outside.

Monica turned toward Miles, her expression unreadable.

He didn’t say anything. Just gave a nod. Not of victory—but of closure.

The screen lit up the room with the bold red banner: "LIVE – Gibson Winstone and Elfric Willise arrested at Star Central Mall". Below it, the footage rolled, showing the two forr moguls being escorted out in handcuffs, faces drained of color, surrounded by flashing caras and yelling reporters.

Miles sat on the edge of the table, leaning forward slightly, his eyes fixed on the screen. He let out a quiet sigh—not of exhaustion, but of long-awaited release.

Monica stood nearby, arms lightly folded. "Don’t worry, boss," she said with calm assurance. "They’ll be taken care of."

Miles glanced at her, a small smile pulling at the corner of his lips. "This is just the beginning," he said quietly. "Everyone involved in that old ss... they’ll all be taken care of. In ti."

Monica nodded with respect. "Understood. Still, it’s good to see you again."

Miles gave a soft chuckle. "Nice to see you too, Monica. Co on... let’s get lunch before you vanish again."

She smiled, and the two of them walked out together, the tension of the morning slowly lifting.

The afternoon passed. Monica boarded a private flight back to her operations. The city returned to its normal rhythm—but a storm had passed through, and the echoes of it still lingered in every headline.

As the sun dipped below the skyline, Miles drove ho under the quiet hush of nightfall. The city lights shimred like stars against the road, but his mind was calm.

When he stepped inside the Keller residence, the sound of playful laughter filled the air.

Hope and Asher were tumbling around on the floor, surrounded by scattered crayons and plush toys. Elena was in the kitchen, humming a soft tune, while Daniel sat on the couch watching the news.

Daniel looked up as Miles walked in and gestured to the TV.

"They’re calling it poetic," he said. "After seventeen years, Sterling Enterprises returns... under the na of the rightful heir."

Miles gave a slow nod, taking a seat beside him.

"You did great today," Daniel added, voice low with pride. "Your dad would be proud—up there in heaven."

Miles looked at him, a soft gleam in his eyes. "Thanks... father."

From behind the couch, Elena walked over silently and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly from behind. He felt her breath catch slightly—heard it in the way her voice wavered.

"Thank you... for proving he was innocent," she whispered.

Miles gently reached up and held her hand, wiping the corner of her eye with his thumb. "Don’t cry, mom. It’s over now."

Just then, Hope and Asher dashed over and hugged him from both sides, clinging to his arms like vines.

"Big brooo!" Hope shouted, her face puffed in a pout. "Don’t leave us!"

"Yeah," Asher nodded furiously. "Don’t go away again!"

Elena looked at them, amused and touched. "What’s gotten into you two?"

Miles looked down at the twins and laughed softly. "Where am I going, huh?"

Then he glanced up at the family and smiled.

"Alright," he said, stretching his arms. "How about we all go on a vacation?"

The kids exploded with cheers, and even Daniel gave a warm laugh.

The war for the past had been fought.

Now... it was ti for peace, if only for a while.

Asher’s eyes sparkled with curiosity as he tugged on Miles’s sleeve."Where are we going, big brooo?" he asked eagerly, his voice filled with innocent excitent.

Everyone in the room turned to look at Miles—Elena, Daniel, Hope—all waiting for the answer with expectant smiles.

Miles leaned back slightly, a playful smirk curling on his lips."We’re going to a secret place," he said mysteriously. "A place where the mountains et the ocean."

Hope’s mouth fell open in awe. "Mountain and beach at the sa ti?!"

"Yup," Miles nodded. "The waves crash against cliffs, there’s a hidden cove, and the stars at night... brighter than anything you’ve ever seen."

Elena raised an eyebrow, folding her arms. "I’ve never heard of such a place. Have you, Daniel?"

Daniel shook his head with a curious grin. "Not a clue. You sure you’re not making this up?"

Miles chuckled, standing up and ruffling Asher’s hair. "It’s real. And it’s beautiful. I found it during... a ti I was alone. Thought I’d keep it secret until I had a reason to share."

"And now you do," Elena said softly, her voice touched with emotion.

"I do," Miles replied, glancing around at the family he fought to rebuild.

The twins jumped in excitent, nearly knocking over a cushion."Yaaay! Beach! Mountain! Secret place!" Hope giggled, twirling.

Asher mimicked her spin. "Can we build a sandcastle on the cliff?!"

"We’ll build one so big, even the seagulls will land on it," Miles said with a grin.

Everyone laughed. For the first ti in what felt like years, the house was filled with nothing but joy and anticipation.

Miles walked out onto the quiet balcony of the house, the night wind brushing softly against his shirt. The stars were beginning to peek through the fading light, and in the distance, the low hum of the city carried faintly on the breeze.

He pulled out his phone, scrolled for a mont, then tapped the screen.

It didn’t take long.

A smooth, teasing voice answered, "Got ti to rember ?"

Miles cleared his throat with a small laugh, "I need to borrow sothing... or rather, soone."

"Oh?" Clarissa’s voice rose with interest. "And here I thought you were finally going to ask to dinner."

Miles chuckled. "Let Phoenix Clan know... guests are coming."

There was a pause. "Guests?" she echoed.

Miles stared off into the distance, his voice calm but certain. "Yeah. My family. I want them to enjoy the sumr a bit before the storm rolls in."

Clarissa’s tone shifted, surprised but warmly impressed. "You’re bringing them to us? Miles Sterling, this is... unlike you."

"I figured they’d be safe there," he said simply. "And they deserve to see sothing beautiful—sothing untouched by the world."

Clarissa softened. "It’s a good idea, honestly. I’ll call for preparations. The best rooms, private access to the shore, and I’ll make sure the training grounds stay quiet."

"When are we leaving?" she added after a mont.

"Tomorrow," Miles said, his eyes narrowing slightly. "There’s not much ti left before the competition, is there?"

Clarissa let out a breath, already moving on her end. "No... not much. The clans are stirring, Miles. Your na is already echoing across their halls. So revere it. Others are ready to challenge it."

Miles gave a small smile. "Let them. But for now... I’m choosing peace."

"Understood," she said. "I’ll be ready."

The call ended.

Miles slipped the phone back into his pocket and looked up at the night sky once more.

Tomorrow, they’d leave behind the noise of the city. But the ga... was just beginning.

Sowhere far from the city...

A luxurious yacht cut through the dark blue of the open ocean, its polished tal surface gleaming under the moonlight. Waves lapped at its sides, and the sound of the ocean stretched for miles in every direction.

Inside, in a chamber hidden deep below deck, shadows flickered on wood-paneled walls lit by a single swaying lantern.

Old Master stood near a wide window, dressed in black robes with silver trimming. His face was partially obscured by the shadows—but his sharp eyes glimred with calculated intent.

"Sir," he spoke quietly, addressing the man seated in the corner of the room. "He is making quite the chaos in the city. Gibson and Elfric have been captured. Their empire... collapsed overnight."

Silence followed, broken only by the soft groan of the ship’s hull slicing through the sea.

A deep voice spoke at last from the shadows. Calm. Heavy. Unreadable.

"Can he reach you... with that?"

Old Master didn’t answer imdiately. He slowly turned away from the window and folded his hands behind his back.

"No," he said at last. "He cannot. He’s strong... cunning, perhaps. But he’s still seventeen years too late to touch ."

The figure in the chair shifted slightly. "And yet he stirs the city. His influence is spreading."

Old Master gave a thin smile. "Let him. Chaos is good. It reveals true colors. It rattles the cowards and tempts the greedy."

He turned his head slightly. "But make no mistake. When the ti is right... we will crush him underfoot, like we did his father."

A long silence stretched again between them.

Then the shadowed man asked, "What if he’s not like his father?"

Old Master’s expression didn’t change. "Then we kill him slowly."

The lantern flickered.

And the ocean swallowed their voices.
