SHEN JI YUN quickly steadied himself and turned to face Luo Yan. He spoke carefully. "Wouldn't you be more comfortable having your own bed?"
Luo Yan tilted his head, his expression clearly showing he did not understand Shen Ji Yun's hesitation. He took a step closer and said softly, "Actually, I would be much more comfortable if I could cuddle with you."
And that would an a night of pure torture for Shen Ji Yun. A sweet kind of torture, but torture all the sa. He could already imagine the ache it would cause a certain part of his body. He might not even last an hour before giving in to what he wanted so badly.
So he had to stand his ground. "As much as I would like that, I think it is better if we do not share a room."
Luo Yan took another step forward, and Shen Ji Yun instinctively stepped back. Each ti Luo Yan moved closer, Shen Ji Yun retreated until his back t the wall. Luo Yan stopped just a foot away, leaving him nowhere else to go.
Then Luo Yan lifted both hands, placing them flat against the wall on either side of Shen Ji Yun, gently trapping him in place.
"Why are you so against it, Brother Ji Yun?" Luo Yan asked softly. "Don't you want to sleep with ?"
Shen Ji Yun's throat moved as he swallowed nervously. A warm flush spread quickly from his neck to the tips of his ears, coloring his whole face a deep, noticeable red. He lowered his eyes, unable to et Luo Yan's gaze, and his fingers twitched slightly at his sides.
That was a very loaded question. He felt that if he answered honestly, all his self-control would snap and he would simply surrender to his deepest desires.
Shen Ji Yun took a slow, deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He had a feeling that if he kept giving vague answers, Luo Yan would only press him harder. It was better to just be honest.
"It's because I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself if we sleep on the sa bed." His voice was quiet and a little shaky, his gaze dropping to the floor as he spoke.
"What's wrong with losing control?" Luo Yan asked, sounding genuinely confused. "I'm your boyfriend. You have my full permission to go crazy over my body."
Shen Ji Yun let out a low groan, feeling his face grow warm once more. "Yan Yan, please..."
"Please what? 'Please kiss '? I'm ga," Luo Yan said playfully. He gently pinched Shen Ji Yun's chin, lifting his face until their eyes t. "Should I do it right now?"
Shen Ji Yun's heart seed to flip inside his chest, beating so fast and hard he could feel it in his throat. His breath caught, and for a mont, all he could see was Luo Yan's playful, determined eyes. Then, as if breaking from a spell, he turned his face away and ducked under Luo Yan's arm, slipping out of reach before he gave in and kissed Luo Yan himself.
He looked at his boyfriend, who only raised an eyebrow in amusent. Just from that look, Shen Ji Yun could tell Luo Yan would not stop teasing him until he got his way.
He let out a soft sigh. "Fine. We can share my room. But we will only be sleeping there. Nothing else."
Luo Yan tilted his head, his expression one of pure innocence. "Why, Brother Ji Yun, what else would we be doing besides sleeping?"
Shen Ji Yun's face flushed red again. "I—ahem! I'll take your bag to my room."
Luo Yan watched in amusent as Shen Ji Yun hurried up the stairs at double speed. He felt a warm fondness seeing how easily the other still blushed, even after more than half a year together, and it stirred a playful urge in him to tease Shen Ji Yun even more. He hoped that even after ten, twenty years, that sweet, flustered reaction would never change.
He walked to the couch and sat down. He looked around to see if anything had changed since his last visit. To his surprise, he noticed several small differences that made the place feel warr and more lived-in. A soft knitted blanket was draped over the back of the sofa, and a few frad photos now sat on the side table. One showed Uncle Yi Mu and Uncle Yue hugging and smiling brightly at the cara. A small potted plant sat near the window, its leaves bright green under the afternoon light. It now felt more like a ho compared to before.
He could tell that this change was all brought by Uncle Yue. Once again, he was glad that the other and Uncle Yi Mu had gotten back together. It was clear they were good for each other. Uncle Yue's gentle warmth balanced Uncle Yi Mu's quiet seriousness, and together they created a sense of harmony. Their love had endured years of separation and misunderstanding, and if anyone deserved a second chance, it was them.
After a while, Shen Ji Yun ca back downstairs looking much calr than before. "I'm going to make lunch. What would you like to eat, Yan Yan?"
"How about beef noodle soup?" Luo Yan suggested.
Shen Ji Yun nodded. "Okay."
When the other walked to the kitchen, Luo Yan stood up and followed. "Can I help?"
Shen Ji Yun looked at Luo Yan, ready to say that there's no need. But when he saw those bright, hopeful peach blossom eyes shining up at him, he swallowed his refusal and simply said, "You can wash the vegetables." Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on novel{f}ire
He took a radish, baby bok choy, cilantro, and green onion from the refrigerator and placed them in a large bowl. Then he handed it to Luo Yan.
Luo Yan took the bowl and went to the sink to wash the vegetables. As he worked, he could hear Shen Ji Yun moving around the kitchen, likely gathering other ingredients. Just as he finished and was about to tell Shen Ji Yun, the doorbell rang.
