Now reading: Chapter 1281: LUO YAN'S PONDERING from The Return of the God Level Assassin, a Drama novel by Tyramisu.

TWO weeks had passed since the start of military training. Luo Yan had gotten used to the grueling schedule, as well as all the activities that filled his days from dawn until late evening. It was hard at first. Even though he had done all of this before in his previous life, the body he had now was completely different. It just wasn't used to the relentless drills, the long runs, and the sheer physical demand of the training. His muscles ached constantly, and he would fall onto his bed each night feeling completely drained.

But, just like anything that got better over ti, his body slowly adapted. The runs beca a little easier, the drills felt a little more natural, and the burning in his muscles faded into a familiar tiredness. His body was finally getting used to the rigorous regin.

Another thing that beca constant was Shen Ji Yun's visits. At first, Shen Ji Yun wanted to visit him every single day and planned to bring him food. But Luo Yan stopped him. He explained that if Shen Ji Yun was there every lunchti, people would surely notice. While Luo Yan didn't mind people finding out about them eventually, it was hardly the right ti. Besides, he had another point to make. If Shen Ji Yun was always here, it would be hard for Luo Yan to make friends with others in his major. How could he make friends if he spent all his free ti with Shen Ji Yun instead of with the people in his sa squad?

So, despite Shen Ji Yun's quiet objections, he had no choice but to agree in the end to what Luo Yan wanted.

Because of this arrangent, he finally had the chance to befriend the other students in his squad. He started eating lunch with a few of them and also spending their short breaks together. Soon, he was on friendly terms with most of the group, which was a good developnt. He knew from his previous life how crucial it was to have friends within your own major. Team projects could turn into a nightmare if you didn't get along with your group mates. That wasn't even considering all the other routine social interactions required in college. Getting along with his peers would simply make navigating everything infinitely easier.

He's not saying that it's a strict requirent or that he had to cater to everyone just to make them like him. If he did that, he would just co across as a pushover, and that's not the impression he wanted to make. A perfect balance was still important. He aid to be the schoolmate who was sociable and easy to talk to, but not overly friendly or invasive. He wanted to be reliable in group settings without becoming the center of gossip or drama.

As soone who had already lived through it all once before, he knew that a peaceful college life was the best way to actually enjoy it.

Shen Ji Yun still visited him every weekend. If Luo Yan wasn't too tired after the long days of training, the two of them would go out to eat. That was how Luo Yan's first two weeks passed by.

Of course, he didn't forget to call his family from ti to ti. He knew his father would definitely rush over, convinced sothing wrong had happened to him, if he didn't. And during these calls, Luo Yan noticed sothing different about his two brothers.

Luo Ren had a more open and light aura about him these days. It was like he had finally let go of a heavy weight, deciding to just go for the things he actually wanted. His voice sounded more relaxed during their calls. In contrast, Luo Jin seed dark and gloomy. He sounded short and irritated on the phone, as if the world owed him a huge debt and everyone was getting on his nerves.

Luo Yan could only think of one reason his brothers were acting this way. It definitely had sothing to do with the people they liked. The only person who could affect his older brother like that, aside from family, was Yu Jiao. And the sa could be said for Luo Jin. But unlike Luo Ren, who seed genuinely happy, the situation was the exact opposite for their younger brother.

So, what the heck happened between Luo Jin and Su Yuqi?

Of course, he asked Luo Jin about it directly. But his younger brother refused to talk, shutting down every attempt. The only clue Luo Yan pieced together ca from their father. His dad ntioned that Su Yuqi and her father had gone to S City, and that Luo Jin had begged to attend a charity event there just to et her. Apparently, Luo Jin did manage to see Su Yuqi, and they talked. Their father didn't know what they talked about, because Luo Jin had left the event abruptly right after. And ever since that day, Luo Jin had been in a bad mood.

This showed that whatever happened at that event had caused all this. Did Luo Jin and Su Yuqi have a fight? But that didn't seem right. Knowing how completely whipped Luo Jin was for Su Yuqi, there's no way he would actively start an argunt with her. Then, could it have been sothing that Su Yuqi said to him?

That charity event had happened more than a week ago. From the looks of it, the two still hadn't made up yet. The fact that his brother's mood hadn't improved at all suggested it wasn't just a small disagreent. Was it sothing serious? Was that why Luo Jin was still so upset?

Since Luo Jin refused to talk about it, Luo Yan decided he would just ask Su Yuqi instead. Now that he was in B City himself, the two of them could easily et up and talk. That's why he had sent a ssage to her, asking if they could et this weekend. But he hadn't received a response from her yet.

As if to answer his thoughts, a WeChat notification sounded from his phone. He checked the screen and saw that it was a new ssage from Su Yuqi.
