"This... Master Qin, could you please explain what’s going on?" one of them asked, already addressing him repeatedly as Master Qin.
Clearly, in the eyes of the tycoon, Chairman Zhou, Qin Fan had ascended to the level of a master. In fact, it wasn’t just Chairman Zhou; no one present dared to underestimate Qin Fan any longer. First, he had broken the curse of the Baleful Yin Copper Turtle. Then, he had summoned Heavenly Thunder with the Qiankun Gua and unraveled the treacherous trap within the Thunder Drawing Qiankun Gua. Now, with a simple breathing exercise—inhaling for five seconds and exhaling for three—he had cleared everyone’s minds of their inexplicable agitation and chaos.
If that doesn’t qualify him as a master, then who does? Who else would dare to claim such a title? In the hearts of everyone present, Qin Fan’s title of Master was now thoroughly deserved.
"If I’m not mistaken, it’s that cup of tea," Qin Fan said, pointing to the cup beside Master Dong’s seat. "The one that’s still steaming after all this ti."
Everyone’s head snapped in that direction. Sure enough, steam was still rising from the cup, wafting into the air. So much ti had passed. How could a simple cup of tea still be steaming? Based on this point alone, nobody would believe there wasn’t sothing strange about it, not even on pain of death.
"You," Qin Fan said, pointing to Chairman Zhou, deciding he might as well go a step further. "Go try it. Take a deep sniff of the steam, feel what happens to your mind, and then follow the breathing technique—inhale for five seconds, exhale for three. You’ll be able to break free of the state."
"Alright, Master Qin, I’ll do it!" Chairman Zhou agreed without a second thought and imdiately walked over to the cup. Bending down, he took two deep sniffs of the rising steam. The next mont, he felt his mind beco hazy, filled with a strange, agitated excitent. His head and body swayed slightly, and he blinked, feeling suddenly weak. Inhaling the steam directly was completely different from breathing the diffused vapor in the air. It was a clear demonstration of just how potent the tea’s vapor was.
"Inhale, exhale!" Seeing Chairman Zhou looking dazed, Qin Fan shook his head with a hint of impatience and barked the command.
Jolted by the sharp command, Chairman Zhou’s body trembled. He quickly held his breath and then exhaled. Eight seconds later, his mind cleared. His heart still pounding, he hurried over to Qin Fan’s side and asked anxiously, "It’s true! Master Qin, what on earth is in that tea?"
"You don’t need to know the details; you wouldn’t understand them even if I told you. Just knowing what’s happening is enough," Qin Fan said dismissively.
"Dong Tianxing, what do you have to say for yourself? Pulling your dirty tricks here, at the Lingnan Fengshui Association... Do you have a death wish?" Following Qin Fan’s words, Lai Zhuge could no longer contain his erupting anger. He grabbed the teacup and slamd it on the table. It shattered into pieces, sending tea splashing everywhere.
"A man must answer for his own actions. I have nothing more to say. I’ve been beaten, and I admit it," Master Dong said, shaking his head with a dazed look in his eyes. But as his gaze drifted to Qin Fan, it suddenly sharpened. He sneered coldly, "Kid, I admit you’ve got so skills, so real ability. But in this world, busybodies rarely et a good end. I wish you good luck!"
In response, Qin Fan gave a aningful, leisurely smile. "I didn’t intend to ddle, but unfortunately for you, I saw sothing that made want to. If I didn’t get involved, how could I have lured the snake out of its hole? Master Dong, thank you for your kind reminder. I wish you good luck as well. Heh heh."
"Master Qin, what do you an by that?" At that, Lai Zhuge’s heart trembled, having sensed a deeper aning in Qin Fan’s words. He had even forgotten to watch his form of address, switching from "Young friend Qin" to "Master Qin" without thinking.
This sudden change in address sent another shockwave through the crowd. Master Qin! Even Lai Zhuge is calling him Master Qin? Thinking back on Lai Zhuge’s attitude towards him from the very beginning... was he really just a young friend brought along to gain experience? Impossible! There’s definitely more to their relationship, absolutely!
At that mont, everyone stared intently at Qin Fan’s face, as if trying to permanently etch his features into their mory so they could investigate his true identity later.
Only one person watched with a complex expression: Yan Huixian. The rapid turn of events and shocking reversals had left her completely dumbfounded. Her curiosity about Qin Fan’s true identity skyrocketed. She imdiately resolved to pry any information she could about him from Ji Yuchen once she got back. As this complicated feeling washed over her, it was quickly replaced by a surge of excitent. With her connection to Ji Yuchen, what would it an if she... if she could latch onto a backer like Qin Fan? She couldn’t begin to imagine such a glorious future.
To Lai Zhuge’s astonished question, Qin Fan just shook his head and said, "It ans nothing. I was just speaking casually. Well, Master Lai, since things have co to this, there’s no reason for to stay. Goodbye."
With that, Qin Fan didn’t spare the crowd another glance. He casually stuffed his hands into his pants pockets and strode out of the conference room with a carefree swagger.
Everyone stared after his departing figure, lost in a daze for a long ti. Lai Zhuge was no exception. Just speaking casually? Could that be true? Is Qin Fan the type of person to make empty remarks? What a joke! But given Qin Fan’s attitude, he didn’t dare to impertinently pester him.
He shook his head to clear it and compose himself. His gaze fell back upon Dong Tianxing, and his anger flared anew. He ordered sternly, "n! Detain Dong Tianxing for now!"
「As for Qin Fan.」
After walking out of the Lingnan Fengshui Association, he paused. His Divine Sense spread outwards, and it seed he had detected sothing interesting. A wicked smile touched the corners of his lips.
On the Cangqiong Continent, nearly everyone who had crossed paths with Qin Fan knew that when the Shura Venerable smiled like that, it ant soone was about to suffer. Absolutely.
He glanced around before heading into an alley. On the bustling street, a man with thick eyebrows and a bushy beard got out of a Lexus. His eyes locked onto Qin Fan’s back as he followed him into the alley.
After several twists and turns, Qin Fan finally stopped in a shady, deserted alley.
Leaning against a wall, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes he always carried but rarely smoked. With a click, he lit one and exhaled a cloud of smoke. "Co on out," Qin Fan said. "Since you were following so openly, there’s no need to hide. Don’t worry, this place will be deserted for a while."
"It seems I misjudged you. You really do have so skill," the man with the thick eyebrows and beard said as he stepped out from around the corner. His voice was chilling. "But heaven has a way of punishing busybodies, and your little bit of skill won’t be enough to withstand the price you have to pay. Unlucky for you, you’re in deep trouble now." He looked at Qin Fan as if he were already a dead man.
"First, do a favor and rip off that disgusting fake beard and eyebrows. The sight of them is making sick," Qin Fan said with an unbothered chuckle, shaking his head.
