"A Thousand-Year Ganoderma, a Thousand-Year Blood Ginseng, an Ice Mountain Snow Lotus no less than five hundred years old, a Molten Fire Lotus no less than a thousand years old, and a Ghost Face Flower that has blood with a Seven-colored Violet!" Qin Fan listed them one by one, his expression grave.
He knew it was impossible to find herbs from the Cangqiong Continent on Earth. Furthermore, considering the Ye Family’s connections, he knew that asking for other Exotic Grass and Strange Material was out of the question. If he could gather just these few items, he would have to count himself lucky.
Upon hearing these conditions, Ye Congjun and the others were completely stunned.
They could probably get their hands on a Thousand-Year Ganoderma, and a five-hundred-year-old Ice Mountain Snow Lotus wasn’t out of reach with so effort. But a Thousand-Year Blood Ginseng? They had never even seen such a thing!
And what in the world was a Molten Fire Lotus over a thousand years old? Ghost Face Flowers that blood with three-colored violets were common, but one that blood with seven? Wasn’t that a one-in-ten-thousand mutation?
How could they possibly find it? Where would they even start looking?
For a mont, the entire Ye Family was frozen in shock.
"Lord... Lord Qin, we know of the Thousand-Year Ganoderma and the Ice Mountain Snow Lotus, but what are a Thousand-Year Blood Ginseng and a Molten Fire Lotus? And a Ghost Face Flower with a Seven-colored Violet? We—we’ve never even heard of them!" Ye Jizu said anxiously. This concerned the Old Master’s life. He couldn’t help but be frantic!
"A Thousand-Year Blood Ginseng is watered with human blood for the first three years of its growth, allowing the blood to fuse into its roots before it matures for a millennium. As for the Molten Fire Lotus, that is a thousand-year-old lotus nurtured within the lava of a volcano. The principle is the sa for a Ghost Face Flower with a Seven-colored Violet as for the three-colored version. Go find them," Qin Fan explained, his attitude showing no sign of compromise.
Although these items were only necessary for advancing from the early to the middle stage of Qi Refinent and weren’t needed imdiately, Qin Fan had to plan ahead. He couldn’t afford to be scrambling around the world at the last minute; it would be far too ti-consuming and exhausting.
"Lord Qin, these—these are all extraordinary natural treasures! I’m afraid we won’t be able to find them, let alone gather all of them. Could you—could you perhaps na a different price?" Ye Jizu pleaded, his brow deeply furrowed with distress.
To collect such rare treasures in only two months was difficult—as difficult as ascending to the heavens.
Qin Fan let out a sarcastic laugh at his words.
Extraordinary natural treasures? These are considered treasures? Do they have any idea how many hidden realms this world contains? On the Cangqiong Continent, these things are as common as dirt! They’re rely transitional ingredients for the early to middle stages of Qi Refinent, stuff you could find on any street corner!
But he wouldn’t say this aloud, nor was there any need to. Instead, he stated firmly, "No. Those are the terms. However, I can perform the perfect restoration of Old Master Ye’s blood vessels in advance. But you must find these things for , or else you know the consequences!"
The Ye Family felt no excitent or elation at Qin Fan’s offer of early treatnt. The consequences threatened by a Transformation Realm Grandmaster were unimaginable. It seed entirely plausible that he could overturn the entire Ye Family in a matter of minutes. How could they possibly bear such a price?
"Lord Qin, I’m just afraid these things don’t exist in this world! If they don’t, then no amount of ti you give us would matter!" Ye Jizu said sorrowfully.
Throughout the exchange, Ye Congjun had remained silent. Upon hearing Qin Fan speak of "must" and "consequences," he was suddenly gripped by indecision. He no longer dared to accept Qin Fan’s treatnt. If they failed to collect the herbs, the Ye Family would undoubtedly face irrevocable doom. The price was too great, too devastating to pay.
"Rest assured, they definitely exist. I wouldn’t have ntioned them otherwise," Qin Fan stated categorically. He knew because, in his past life, he had seen these very herbs being sold in online news auctions. He vaguely rembered them fetching astronomical eight or nine-figure prices, so these items most certainly existed.
"If they truly exist, then our Ye Family will spare no effort or cost to gather them for you, Lord Qin!" After a mont of tense deliberation, Ye Jizu steeled his resolve and declared, clenching his jaw.
"Jizu, you mustn’t! Living to seventy-eight is enough for ! I can’t let the entire Ye Family be jeopardized on my account!" Ye Congjun suddenly interjected with a firm refusal. Making a deal with a Transformation Realm Grandmaster without one hundred percent certainty was courting death. It was a risk he couldn’t take, and one the Ye Family could not afford.
"Old Master, if you were gone, would the Ye Family still be the Ye Family?" Ye Jizu asked earnestly, his gaze profound. Once Old Master Ye fell, the family’s pillar in the military and its second-in-command in politics would see their careers co to an end. It wouldn’t be a matter of ability, but one of factional alignnt. The Ye Family was already constantly watched and suppressed by those in power. If sothing were to happen to Ye Congjun, the consequences would be unthinkable.
"Old Master Ye, what if I said that once I’ve repaired your body, you could live to be a hundred? Heh," Qin Fan dangled the bait once more.
A hundred years? Live to be a hundred years old?
Inside the pavilion, everyone except Qin Fan stared, their eyes bulging in disbelief. Another twenty-odd years of life... if this was true, what heights could the Ye Family reach in the coming political transitions?
This bombshell was so massive that even Ye Congjun’s heart began to race.
"Is it... is it really true?" Ye Congjun stamred.
"It is," Qin Fan replied with a smile.
"We’ll take the gamble!" Ye Jizu exclaid, gritting his teeth.
"Are you sure?" Qin Fan looked at Ye Congjun with amusent, letting out a soft chuckle. He wanted Ye Congjun’s answer, not that of any other family mber.
"Lord Qin, your offer is too tempting... so tempting our entire Ye Family can’t possibly resist it," Ye Congjun said with a wry smile.
"Very good. I hope this proves to be a wise choice for you. Furthermore, I will say it again: those items do exist, and they are right here in Huaxia. One more thing... if you want my approval, you’ll have to show what you’re capable of," Qin Fan declared proudly, like an aloof sovereign surveying his domain.
In his eyes, the Ye Family, so high and mighty to the outside world, were like subjects granted an audience before a king. And indeed, for Ye Congjun and his son, this was the case. They responded with a humility and trepidation they no longer showed to the world.
Approval? The approval of a Transformation Realm Grandmaster?
If the prospect of Ye Congjun living to a hundred was an irresistible temptation, then this offer of approval was a lure of insurmountable proportions.
For a mont, whether it was Ye Congjun, Ye Jizu, Ye Xuan, or Wang Lu, they were all lost in fantasies of the future. An Old Master who lived to be a hundred, and a Ye Family who had the friendship of a Transformation Realm Grandmaster... to what insane heights could they climb?
BANG—
In that instant, with the exception of Ye Haoyuan, the young wastrel still naive to the ways of the world, an unparalleled excitent and fervor exploded in the chests of everyone else.
"Lord Qin, we will acquire what you need, no matter the cost!" Ye Jizu pledged, his voice trembling with unrestrained excitent.
"Actions speak louder than words. I have an aversion to empty promises," Qin Fan said with a smirk, shaking his head.
"Yes, yes, your lesson is well-taken, Lord Qin," Ye Jizu said with an awkward laugh.
"That settles it, then. I’ll visit your ho tomorrow to resolve Old Master Ye’s condition," Qin Fan stated with a slight nod.
With that, he clasped his hands behind his back and began to walk toward the pavilion exit. His posture and movents didn’t make him look like a youth pretending to be an elder. Instead, he was shrouded in an aura of intangible mystery.
"Idol, can I add you on WeChat?" From behind, a desperate Ye Haoyuan, finally snapping out of his daze, blurted out.
Add on WeChat?
Qin Fan smiled faintly but continued walking forward without a word.
