In Room 306 of the won’s dormitory.
After Qin Fan uttered the word "again," Jiang Yino’s cheeks instantly flushed a scorching red.
What does he an, "again"? Does this an Qin Fan already saw exposed during the last video call with Du Ruanqing? Damn it! How could this happen! How could this be!
In the dormitory bathroom, Du Ruanqing, who was in the middle of washing up, heard the cry of "I’m going to kill you!" and walked out looking completely bewildered.
"Hey now, Sister Yinuo, what’s going on?" Du Ruanqing asked while brushing her teeth. "What did I ever do to you that you want to kill out of nowhere?"
Jiang Yino took two deep, calming breaths. Still flushed, she waved her hand at her roommate. "It’s nothing! Go on back, finish brushing your teeth!"
"So jumpy and weird for no reason!" Du Ruanqing rolled her eyes at Jiang Yino, muttering with a laugh as she walked back to the bathroom.
Watching Du Ruanqing retreat, Jiang Yino gritted her teeth in frustration, feeling incredibly wronged. "Damn it, how am I going to face Qin Fan now? How?!" she whispered miserably, cradling her hot cheeks in her hands.
「Half an hour later.」
When Du Ruanqing slowly finished getting ready and erged from the bathroom, she found Jiang Yino still sitting in a daze, her face bright red.
Seeing this, Du Ruanqing froze. "Hey, Sister Yinuo, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
"Ah? No, nothing!" Jiang Yino said, belatedly looking up.
"Nothing? Then why are you spacing out? Hurry up and get ready! We finally have a day off, let’s go out and have so fun today!" Du Ruanqing said with a smile, pulling Jiang Yino up from her bed.
"Okay, sure! I’m going now!" As she was pulled to her feet, Jiang Yino smiled gracefully. Her loose pajama top fell open, revealing she wore nothing underneath. This was perfectly normal, though; not many girls would be fully decked out just to sleep in their dorms.
"Ruanqin, Jiayi’s phone is still off! Do... do you think sothing really happened to her?" Ou Mingsi called out worriedly from the top bunk.
"Still off?" Hearing this, Du Ruanqing’s eyebrows knitted in concern. She turned to Jiang Yino. "Sister Yinuo, you’re in her class, right? Should you tell your counselor? Ask about her?"
"Okay, I’ll ask right now." Now genuinely concerned as well, Jiang Yino quickly grabbed her phone and dialed their counselor’s number.
"Counselor Wang? This is Jiang Yino," she said seriously as soon as the call connected.
"Yinuo! What’s up?" the middle-aged woman on the other end of the line asked with a yawn.
"Counselor Wang, I wanted to ask if Xu Jiayi requested leave. She didn’t co back all of last night, and none of us can reach her on her phone," Jiang Yino said, her voice growing anxious. Although her relationship with Xu Jiayi had beco awkward because of Qin Fan, they were still roommates, so she couldn’t help but worry.
"Oh, that! Yes, she requested leave. She sent a ssage late last night, and I approved it. Her family also called later. It seems there was a family ergency. Don’t worry about it!" Counselor Wang said.
"Okay, that’s good to hear. Sorry to bother you, Counselor Wang. Goodbye."
Politely ending the call with a light laugh, Jiang Yino then let out a heavy sigh of relief. "I’m going to wash up. Wait for !"
"What is with her? She takes leave without saying a word to us, after ditching us in the private room last night! And here we are, worried sick about her. Hmph!" Du Ruanqing, who already didn’t like Xu Jiayi much, grumbled as she’d listened in on the call.
However, just as she finished speaking, there was a sudden knock on the door.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!
"Who is it?" Du Ruanqing called out.
There was no response, but the knocking continued. Outside the door, however, there was a new sound: the shuffling of many hurried footsteps and a low murmur of overlapping voices.
Huh? Du Ruanqing huffed softly. She walked over and yanked the door open. The mont she did, she froze, completely stunned.
Standing there was Qin Fan! It was Qin Fan! And behind him, the hallway was filled with girls, all of them staring with expressions of utter adoration.
"No way... the legend himself? How did you get in here? Did the dorm matron downstairs actually let you co up?" Du Ruanqing asked, completely incredulous.
"It’s broad daylight. Do you think the dorm matron would believe that the top-scoring student ca to the girls’ dormitory to cause trouble? So, she did a favor. But this is a one-ti exception, never to be repeated," Qin Fan said with a faint, refined smile.
"Co in, co in, co in! Please, you have to co in!" Du Ruanqing beckoned him in reflexively.
Ignoring the swarm of girls hovering nearby, Qin Fan smiled and stepped inside Room 306.
The mont he was inside, Du Ruanqing grabbed a bewildered Ou Mingsi. "Mingsi, let’s go! We’ll leave so space for the legend and Sister Yinuo!"
"Oh... oh, okay!" Ou Mingsi replied, still looking dazed.
A sly glint appeared in Du Ruanqing’s eyes. She looked at Qin Fan and said, "Alright, Legend, I’ve created the opportunity for you! We won’t disturb you. As for how things turn out, that’s all up to Creation!"
Before Qin Fan could even respond, she pulled Ou Mingsi out of the room with her.
With a bang, the dorm room door shut, and the world fell quiet. No, not entirely. There was still the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.
Qin Fan couldn’t help but give a wry smile at the sheer audacity of the girls from Room 306. Still, he was quite pleased with how things had turned out.
He walked over to a desk and sat down. Listening to the occasional sounds from the bathroom, he leisurely picked up a magazine and started flipping through it.
Suddenly, Jiang Yino’s voice called out from the bathroom. "Ruanqin, where’s that pink bra I had hanging on the rack? I can’t find it anywhere! Damn it, don’t tell you wore it by mistake! Hurry and check your shirt, it’s the one with the pink floral pattern!"
Hearing this, even soone with Qin Fan’s composure couldn’t stop a wave of pure awkwardness from washing over him.
A pink bra? And it’s embroidered? How can they possibly mix sothing like that up? Does this an their sizes are practically the sa?
When Du Ruanqing didn’t answer, Jiang Yino couldn’t wait any longer and stepped out of the bathroom. She continued talking as she walked, "You’re not saying anything, so it must be true! You wore my panties by mistake last ti, and now you’ve taken my bra. Good grief, Ruanqin, can’t you be a little more careful? Do you know how—"
Her words caught in her throat. Dressed in her loose pajamas, Jiang Yino froze the instant she stepped out of the bathroom and into the main room, looking as if she had been struck by lightning.
