"Shut up! Don’t move! Damn it, be quiet!"
Faced with the inhuman monster outside, the driver’s fear and anxiety festered into rage. He whipped his head around and barked the order, but just as the shout left his lips...
BANG!
The sound erupted from the windshield.
CRASH!
With a single palm strike, the entire sheet of reinforced safety glass shattered, scattering across the dashboard and floor. Hearing the noise, the man turned his head back in a panic. The next mont, gripped by his subconscious in the face of this horrifying scene, his foot slipped off the accelerator. With a click, he yanked the car door open and, like a man possessed, started to run.
This is human nature, the primal instinct for survival. When faced with an overwhelming danger, the first response is to flee—to run as far and as fast as possible. For the driver, the allure of three hundred million had completely vanished from his mind. All he wanted was to escape the monster outside the car. However, he overlooked a critical point: if his pursuer was a monster, how could a re mortal possibly outrun it?
As expected, the mont he bolted, a figure vaulted into the air and swept a leg toward his head.
SMACK!
The impact echoed as the man’s body hit the ground. The unavoidable kick connected, and his eyes rolled back as he collapsed, unconscious. For him, in that mont, fainting was perhaps the best possible outco. Only then could he find a temporary escape from the suffocating despair and terror.
Qin Fan lifted the unconscious man as if he were a chick and tossed him into the passenger seat. He then opened the rear door, a look of guilt on his face as he tore the tape from his parents’ mouths and unbound their hands and feet. Before Qin Chu and Wei Shuying could speak, he said, "Dad, Mom, your son has been unfilial. I’m sorry for the terror you’ve endured."
"Xiao Fan!" Wei Shuying cried, wiping tears from her face as she choked out his na, overco with relief.
"Xiao Fan, how did you know we were here? How did you track us down?" Qin Chu’s voice still trembled, his heart a turbulent ss.
"Mom, Dad, there’s no ti to explain everything right now! I’ll take you to a hotel to get so rest."
Without further explanation, Qin Fan slid into the driver’s seat. With the windshield gone, he didn’t dare speed, keeping the SUV at a steady thirty to forty kiloters per hour.
From the back seat, Qin Chu asked with a quavering voice, "Xiao Fan, do you know who is behind Xiao Wang?"
"Xiao Wang?" Qin Fan frowned, then glanced at the man slumped in the passenger seat. "Dad, you an this traitor?"
"Yes! He said in the car that soone paid him three hundred million to kidnap your mother and . I saw the navigation’s destination—it’s a coastal port in Chongming District!" Qin Chu explained.
The coastal port?
A flicker of understanding crossed Qin Fan’s mind, and a sinister, wicked smile curled his lips. He said, "Dad, Mom, don’t worry about any of that. I’ll get you settled in a hotel first. As for what cos next, just let handle it."
"Xiao Fan, what are you going to do?" Wei Shuying asked, instantly alard.
"Mom, please don’t worry about it! Trust , I know my limits," Qin Fan replied with a reassuring smile.
"Xiao Fan, just hand this scoundrel over to the police! Let them interrogate him and investigate! What else could you possibly be planning to do? We only have one son. You can’t act rashly, Xiao Fan. Mom is begging you! Please, just listen to , alright?" Wei Shuying leaned forward from the back seat, gripping the seat in front of her as she pleaded.
"That’s right, Xiao Fan, listen to your mother! Don’t be reckless! We live in an age of law and order. You must not put yourself in danger. Let the police handle this!" Qin Chu chid in, having understood his wife’s fears.
"It’s alright, Mom and Dad! You can rest assured, I know what I’m doing and won’t put myself at risk. I’ll take you to the hotel first!"
Qin Fan released a wave of True Qi to block the rushing wind, then slamd his foot on the accelerator, speeding off under the astonished gazes of passersby. He just kept nodding and smiling in response to his parents’ increasingly frantic warnings, speeding all the way to a high-end hotel.
"Mom, Dad, you two go on inside and check in to get so rest." Outside the hotel, without getting out of the car, Qin Fan stopped and turned to his parents.
"What about you?" Qin Chu and Wei Shuying asked in unison.
"I have to take this traitor to the police station. Call if you need anything," Qin Fan said, offering a casual excuse.
Hearing this, his parents both furrowed their brows in suspicion.
"Co on! Mom, Dad, don’t overthink it! Hurry up and go get so rest!" Qin Fan urged them with a smile as he discreetly spread his Divine Sense to envelop the entire hotel. With his Divine Sense in place, no disturbance within its range could possibly escape his perception.
"Are you really taking him to the police station?" Wei Shuying asked, still doubtful.
"Really," Qin Fan said, nodding earnestly.
"Alright then. Shuying, let’s get out," Qin Chu sighed. Though he didn’t believe his son’s words for a second, he didn’t know how else to persuade him.
He watched his parents walk into the hotel, glancing back with every step. The mont they were out of sight, the smile on Qin Fan’s face instantly turned to ice. He stomped on the accelerator, and the SUV shot forward at high speed. After resetting the navigation to its original destination, Qin Fan drove on with a blank, cold expression.
About ten to fifteen minutes later, when they were still a kiloter or two from their destination, the man in the passenger seat stirred and woke up.
"Awake?" Qin Fan asked, hitting the brakes and bringing the SUV to a jarring halt. He turned to the man, a devilish grin spreading across his face.
"Who... who the hell are you?" Instinctively, the man fumbled for the door handle to jump out, only to find it locked. He began to tremble, crying out in terror, his expression one of pure fear.
"Qin Fan. The chairman of the No.1 Group. As my parents’ driver, you an to tell you don’t know who I am?" Qin Fan sneered.
"Young Master Qin! You’re Young Master Qin!"
The man finally recognized the face before him, but the recognition only deepened his panic and fear. According to rumors in the Martial World, even the great Patriarch of Lingnan had to address Qin Fan as ’Master’. The rumors also said that the reason Patriarch Ye Jizu treated Chairman and Mrs. Qin with such reverence was entirely because of Qin Fan.
At this thought, the man’s body went completely limp. The very reason he had fled to Shanghai overnight, driving without a mont’s rest, was to complete his task as quickly as possible. The pressure from Patriarch Ye Jizu and this mysterious Young Master Qin was imnse. Little did he know that after his sleepless, frantic rush, he would still end up in Qin Fan’s hands at the last mont.
Rembering how Qin Fan had stopped the SUV with one palm and shattered the windshield with another, the man was completely overwheld by fear. He broke down and cried.
"Young Master Qin, I was montarily blinded by greed! I couldn’t resist the temptation! Please, spare my life! Spare , Young Master Qin! I have elderly parents and young children to care for! I was wrong, so wrong! Please, let go! I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life as your loyal servant to repay your rcy! Young Master Qin, spare ! Please, spare !"
Sobbing, the driver grabbed Qin Fan’s arm, a grown man reduced to a snotty, weeping ss.
