"Um, Mr. Chen, when can we start the photoshoot?" Ji Yi asked, averting her gaze from the many lecherous stares. "I promise these photos won’t be circulated online. They’re purely for my personal collection!"
"Alright, in a mont. To avoid any unnecessary disturbances, I’ll go make an announcent first," Chen Jinlong said with a faint smile.
Then, after Ji Yi nodded her thanks, he strode toward the four models.
Seeing Chen Jinlong approach, a staff mber quickly handed him a microphone. At this gesture, everyone knew that Master Long was about to speak.
"Thank you all for coming. I am honored to have gathered everyone here, and it is all thanks to your gracious presence! Now, I’ll cut to the chase. Due to so specific arrangents, we will be postponing the ’tour and auction’ ceremony for a short while. Our photographers will be conducting a series of shoots to commorate this magnificent banquet. We appreciate your understanding for this slight delay!"
Although it was difficult to see faces clearly under the dim, ambient lighting, Chen Jinlong still scanned the crowd with a light chuckle. As he finished speaking, applause imdiately erupted.
After all, Chen Jinlong’s prestige was ironclad throughout Jinling’s circle of elites, so no one would complain. Besides, whether photos were taken or not had no real impact on them. The models lying inside the crystal glass cases rely felt their eyelashes flicker, but that was all. Master Long had spoken. What could they do? What would they dare to do?
Amidst the applause, Chen Jinlong walked back with a smile. "Miss Ji, it’s all set. Please, proceed," he said to Ji Yi, pointedly ignoring the other two won who were also carrying DSLR caras. This, too, was a display of Chen Jinlong’s attitude. If the other won insisted on joining, the intimidating presence of Chang Yuanyi and Qin Fan would have forced him to simply stand by and watch.
Fortunately, the two won were sensible. One of them smiled and said, "Xiao Yi, you go ahead! We won’t join the fun."
"Okay!" Ji Yi pursed her lips. She wasn’t one to miss a cue. With both hands gripping her DSLR, she walked toward the models, becoming the center of everyone’s attention.
Maintaining a professional distance, she began snapping photos. The shutter clicked away rapidly. CLICK. CLICK. CLICK. She moved from front to back, left to right, up and down, circling the square display several tis before she finally lowered her cara, satisfied.
Unbeknownst to the others, this photoshoot had taken a full twenty minutes.
"My apologies for taking up so much of your ti," Ji Yi said, looking up rather awkwardly after confirming the photos were saved.
In response to her apology, a wave of sheepish laughter rippled through the crowd. If it weren’t for Chen Jinlong, they would have been itching to curse soone out for being made to wait for twenty minutes.
"Mr. Chen, I apologize again for the inconvenience! Thank you for giving this opportunity!" The cultured and well-mannered Ji Yi, though often direct, knew how to handle social situations. After returning to her spot, she repeatedly thanked Chen Jinlong.
Faced with her thanks, Chen Jinlong quickly waved her gratitude away with a polite smile.
At that mont, following Ji Yi’s departure, the staff removed the velvet ropes. The human feast was now open for viewing.
"Little bro, why are you just standing there? Go take a look! Aren’t all you n supposed to be lecherous pigs? Look, you can see the glint in all their eyes!" Seeing Qin Fan remain unmoved, Ji Yi teased him with a laugh.
"If I said I’m not interested, Big Sis, would you believe ?" Qin Fan replied, shaking his head helplessly. Being teased by his Big Sis had beco a habit.
"What?" Ji Yi’s eyes widened as she feigned a look of horror. "Little bro, don’t scare ! You’re not interested in won? Don’t tell you’re into n—?" As she spoke, she exaggeratedly placed a finger on her lips, her expression incredibly animated.
"Uh—Miss Ji, my big bro already has a girlfriend! So rest assured, your suspicions are absolutely groundless!" Standing beside them, Li Yunzhe couldn’t help but stifle a laugh as he explained. He had wanted to call her "Big Sis" like Qin Fan, but he stopped himself at the last second.
"Oh my god—Qin Fan, you have a girlfriend? Where’s she from? How tall is she? What’s her weight? Her asurents? What does she look like? What’s her personality? How long have you been together? How could you not tell your Big Sis about sothing this huge? No, no, that won’t do. You have to bring her to for inspection. I’ll give her a proper vetting for you! They say a woman’s heart is a deep, hidden ocean, and won are the best at hiding their true selves. But under your Big Sis’s Eyes of Golden Fla, even the most secretive woman will be exposed! Your happiness is on the line, so Big Sis absolutely must give her seal of approval!"
Upon hearing that Qin Fan had a girlfriend, Ji Yi was stunned for a mont before unleashing a barrage of questions like a machine gun. She seed even more concerned than a parent.
"Hey, Big Sis, don’t listen to this idiot. She’s not my girlfriend yet! There hasn’t been any ’deep water and scorching heat’ process to speak of!" Qin Fan shot Li Yunzhe a glare before replying with a resigned, bitter smile.
"What? ’Deep water and scorching heat’? You’re already thinking about the ’deep water and scorching heat’ part and she’s still not your girlfriend?" Ji Yi’s eyes suddenly turned sly, her teasing gaze widening in mock surprise as she took her joke to a whole new level.
At her words, Qin Fan first froze. Then he was completely bewildered. Finally, his expression turned utterly bizarre.
Deep water... scorching heat! Holy crap! How could she twist a simple phrase like that into sothing so dirty? When did Big Sis get so lewd? She seems even worse than in my past life!
However, Qin Fan wasn’t the only one stunned by her remark. Li Yunzhe, Chang Yuanyi, and the several scions from Beijing were all equally dumbfounded.
This Big Sis is too damn fierce! Who knew ’deep water and scorching heat’ could be interpreted like that? What an eye-opener!
Instantly, a strange atmosphere fell over the group.
Finally, Qin Fan was the first to recover. "Ahem!" He let out a dry cough to clear the awkwardness and quickly said, "Anyway, since we’re here, let’s go take a look around!"
With that, Qin Fan awkwardly started walking away.
"Hell yeah, Big Bro, I’ve been waiting for you to say that!" Li Yunzhe excitedly followed behind him. He pushed all thoughts of lewd jokes out of his mind. Right now, all he wanted was to get a good look at this spectacle—an experience he could brag about for years to co!
Watching Qin Fan’s departing figure, Ji Yi first smiled knowingly, then a trace of sadness crossed her face.
This wasn’t the sorrow of a romantic loss. It was the realization that her childhood friend, the little brother she’d watched grow up, now had a girlfriend. Would he still think about his Big Sis in the future?
"Xiao Yi, let’s go too! We’ve never witnessed a human feast like this either! That guy in the Tang suit made it sound so mysterious. Co on, let’s go check it out!" one of the won urged excitedly, pulling on Ji Yi’s arm while she was lost in thought.
"Okay, let’s go!" Ji Yi smiled, shaking off her sentintality. The three won joined the crowd of onlookers.
