Just like Tansy, Rose was assigned to destroy one of the remaining towers.
Her ch moved through the streets of the Capital at high speed.
As she approached the edge of the floating city, the strange gravity system of the Capital began affecting her surroundings once again. What should have been a normal road gradually beca vertical.
Rose didn’t seem surprised anymore.
After spending enough ti in the Capital, she had gotten used to the city’s ridiculous design.
"One day I’m going to find the guy who designed this place and punch him."
The ch’s legs folded inward and transford into large wheels. Several boosters ignited behind them.
The heavy machine imdiately accelerated.
Rose held a giant shield in one hand while speeding across the vertical road.
Buildings flashed past her.
The distance between her and the target tower rapidly shrank.
At the sa ti, other Ember squads were also moving toward the remaining towers.
Unlike Rose and Tansy, most of them operated in teams.
The reason was simple.
Rose and Tansy possessed so of the strongest chs in the entire Ember organization.
Their combat capabilities were comparable to Tyler’s main ch.
Sending additional support would only slow them down.
Inside the Capital Headquarters, Tyler watched multiple battlefield projections at once.
The destruction of the first tower had already boosted morale throughout the Ember forces.
Now everyone wanted to destroy the remaining towers before they completed their transformations.
One of the squads arrived near another tower.
Several chs imdiately launched missiles.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Explosions covered the lower half of the giant structure.
Smoke spread through the area.
However, when the smoke cleared, the tower was still standing.
Several sections of armor had been damaged, but the transformation process continued.
"It’s too durable."
One of the operators frowned.
Tyler nodded.
The ordinary missiles weren’t strong enough.
"Use the Carbonyx missiles."
The squad leader imdiately received the order.
A special missile was removed from the rear compartnt of one of the chs.
Unlike normal ammunition, the warhead contained liquid Carbonyx.
The dark purple liquid moved inside the transparent chamber like living rcury.
After locking onto the target, the missile was launched.
A few seconds later, it struck the center of the transforming tower.
The result was completely different.
A violent energy reaction spread throughout the structure.
Purple lightning-like patterns appeared across the surface of the giant building.
Then a huge hole exploded through the center.
The transformation process imdiately stopped.
Several moving sections froze in place.
The entire structure beca motionless.
The AI controlling it appeared to have shut down.
Inside the headquarters, a few technicians cheered.
Tyler looked at the battlefield map.
Another red marker disappeared.
"Two down. Four to go."
Things seed to be progressing smoothly.
Then the situation changed.
Several squads carrying Carbonyx missiles approached another tower.
Before they could get close enough to attack, a golden light descended from the sky.
The operators inside the headquarters froze.
The light appeared without warning.
A mont later, the Ember chs disappeared.
Not damaged.
Not disabled.
Gone.
The sa thing that happened to Tyler’s ch happened again.
"Shit."
Several people inside the command center imdiately beca nervous.
Tyler looked upward on the projection screen.
Far away, the Golden Palace was slowly moving through the sky.
Clearly, the palace had noticed their actions.
"It finally started interfering."
Ariel’s expression beca ugly.
"If it keeps doing that, nobody can get close to the remaining towers."
Tyler nodded.
That was the biggest problem.
Destroying the towers wasn’t difficult.
Surviving the palace’s attacks was.
A few monts later, another squad attempted to approach a different tower.
The result was exactly the sa.
Golden light descended.
The chs vanished.
The palace didn’t seem interested in fighting.
It simply erased anything that threatened the towers.
Tyler looked at the battlefield map for several seconds.
Then he stood up.
"Ariel."
"Hm?"
"Take command for a while."
Ariel imdiately understood.
"You’re going personally?"
Tyler nodded.
"If I don’t go, we’re going to lose more chs."
Without waiting for a response, Tyler left the headquarters.
Several soldiers watched him leave.
By now, nobody questioned his decisions.
The strange thing about Tyler was that every ti people thought he was out of options, he sohow ca back with another idea.
Outside the building, Tyler took out a small tallic cube from his coat.
The cube was only slightly larger than his palm.
He casually threw it forward.
The cube unfolded in midair.
chanical components expanded in every direction.
Within seconds, a full-sized ch appeared.
Several nearby soldiers looked impressed.
Even after seeing it multiple tis, Tyler’s storage technology still felt ridiculous.
Tyler had already put on his visor.
A stealth aircraft landed nearby.
The rear hatch opened.
Tyler entered the aircraft and walked toward the synchronization chamber.
As he jumped forward, his body entered a floating sphere of energy.
His feet left the ground.
The sphere suspended him in midair.
Imdiately, the ch outside copied his movents.
Tyler moved his arm.
The ch moved its arm.
Tyler took a step.
The ch took a step.
The synchronization process was completed.
anwhile, Rose continued rushing toward her assigned tower.
The distance was getting shorter.
She was already planning how she would destroy it.
Then she noticed sothing unusual.
Several golden beams appeared in the distant sky.
The beams were moving.
Tracking sothing.
Rose’s instincts imdiately scread danger.
A second later, her ch’s warning systems activated.
Target lock detected.
Rose’s eyes widened.
"Oh no."
She looked toward the sky.
The Golden Palace had locked onto her.
"My ch is going to get destroyed."
Just as she finished speaking, a ch suddenly appeared in front of her.
The golden beam struck it directly.
The machine disappeared instantly.
Rose blinked.
The lock-on warning vanished.
"Eh?"
Before she could understand what happened, the palace targeted her again.
Another beam descended.
A second ch appeared.
The beam hit it.
The ch disappeared.
Rose slowed down slightly.
Sothing felt strange.
She stared at the destroyed ch.
Then at the next one.
Then another one appearing in the distance.
The design looked familiar.
Very familiar.
The sa armor.
The sa fra.
The sa weapon configuration.
Rose narrowed her eyes.
"Am I seeing things?"
The ch that had just sacrificed itself looked exactly like Tyler’s model.
Then another identical ch appeared.
And another.
And another.
Inside the stealth aircraft,
Several small cubes were lined up beside Tyler’s sphere.
A drone hovered nearby.
Every few seconds, Tyler placed another cube onto the drone.
The drone imdiately carried it toward the battlefield.
Once released, the cube transford into a new ch.
A copied ch made by his Trusted Copper Pot.
Oh no... The INFINITY COPPER CAULDRON.
Tyler looked at the battlefield feed and grinned.
The Golden Palace could destroy his chs.
That wasn’t a problem.
The real question was whether the palace could destroy them faster than he could make them.
Looking at the line of cubes beside him, Tyler felt confident.
"Let’s see who runs out first."
Then he sent another ch toward Rose’s location.
This ti, he even waved at her through the external cara.
A second later, another golden beam descended from the sky.
The ch disappeared.
Tyler simply picked up another cube.
"Co on."
"I have plenty of these. I can make plenty of these."
