Chapter 15 – Special Mission
At present, the skill Jang Woo-hyun displayed was sowhere between the peak of a First-rate martial artist and Master level.
His strength was right below the elders, ranking among the few top leaders of the Demon Extermination Sect.

They were not martial artists who fought head-on.
They were assassins who set traps and created situations to kill their targets.

Upon arrival, Hwang An and Ma Choong-won began to move.
Hwang An, being naturally sociable, and Ma Choong-won, with his long experience and connections, were able to gather information from those stationed at the branch sect.
At a nearby inn, Hwang An t with a Silver Token martial artist from the branch sect.
“The Five Monsters? Why are you looking for them?”
“Why else? To avoid them, of course. I ca to the Demon Extermination Sect to make money, but what’s the point if I die? It’d be frustrating to die without even spending the money I’ve saved.”
“Well, true, but how could people like us ever face those monsters? Let’s see… there was a rumor that a monster was spotted recently.”

Hwang An smoothly struck up a conversation even with soone he had just t for the first ti.
Though not as good as Hwang An, the others also went around gathering information in their own ways.
That night, the group reconvened at their lodging after gathering information separately.
The first to speak was Hwang An.

Four of the living Five Monsters were the One Monster, the Insect Monster, the Fire Monster, and the Elder Monkey Monster.
The One Monster was the leader of the Five Monsters.

The Demon Extermination Sect Leader usually patrolled Qinghai Province, dealing with the remnants of the Thousand Demon Sect, but it seed that the enemies had seized the opportunity while he was away.
“This seems like perfect timing for us. We’ve arrived at the ideal mont, just as the action is about to start.”
Though nothing was certain, Kwak Dong-ha’s words seed to ring true.
With no answers likely to co from overthinking, the group decided to sleep early and set out for Old Mount Hua the next day.
Their destination was where the Insect Monster had been sighted.

As they made their way to Old Mount Hua, they encountered an unexpected situation in a small village along the way.
“The village seems deserted.”
Not a single sign of life could be sensed in the village.
An ominous atmosphere enveloped the area.
The group spread out to search the village and soon gathered in the center.
“There’s no one here.”
“Sa over here.”
“No one here either.”
There wasn’t a single person—whether child, adult, or elder.
Even the dogs that were kept in the village were nowhere to be seen.
“The village is in this state, so what have the branch sect warriors been doing?”
Frustrated, Kwak Dong-ha kicked the ground.
But it was inevitable.
This was one of the Demon Extermination Sect’s weaknesses.
Since the majority of their mbers were wandering warriors, they tended to avoid major risks.
Especially those stationed at branch sects, who were even more inclined to do so.
