Since their group left earlier than most, they were only kept updated through the posts on Star Net.
Kyle was monitoring it to see if his brother had succeeded in convincing the masses that today did not mark the start of the apocalypse; in fact, it felt quite the opposite.
It was just rather difficult because the expressions of the people caught on cara were so stern that they couldn’t imagine anything good coming out of this auction!
Admittedly, they were apparently part of the problem as they ran away like thieves who couldn’t be bothered to have better facial expressions.
"Argh! These photos, really?! Couldn’t they have taken it at a better angle?" Ollie grimaced at the supposed doomsday photo, which featured them walking out of the building.
And in Ollie’s mind, he didn’t look that short! But against these peaks, he looked like a child!
Now, they were already lambasting their very successful auction, and he’s fine with that, but could they at least post better photos?!
But Xavier noted that it wasn’t just the photos that the mop should be caring about right now.
Because the little chipmunk was looking a little wilted off to the side.
Luca wasn’t exactly feeling depressed. There really wasn’t anything to be that depressed about when he’s got this much money from today’s auction.
It was just that he felt like he got too much money while causing this much trouble!
Not to ntion, he was still unsure if the people were fine with what they bought.
A al set for 17 billion?
What kind of taste would even be worth 17 billion?!
The little money-grubber was stuck wallowing about how one would be able to eat if each al cost that much.
Xavier noticed how the little chipmunk’s brows kept furrowing as the shorty kept touching his stomach.
"Are you feeling sick?" He finally approached because Luca didn’t look as happy as they expected him to be after earning that much.
Luca just shook his head slowly, "I... I’m fine."
He really was. He just montarily rembered what it felt like to be very hungry.
Hmm.
"Are you concerned about the prices?"
Xavier probably knew the answer to this question, but the little chipmunk needed to be able to articulate his feelings better if he wanted more people to stop misunderstanding him.
But who was he to talk about such things?
It was not like he had the right to judge as soone who could be articulate but chose to ration his words like military supplies.
Maybe he shouldn’t be such a hypocrite.
Luca actually thought about it but figured he should be telling Xavier about his concerns because he might know what to do.
So, the pouting guy confessed his grievances about feeling guilty about taking too much money from these hungry and old people.
What’s worse was learning that Xavier joined his father in paying for a set when he could’ve easily prepared it again for them!
It was truly ironic.
The Prince found it interesting that Luca could love money so much but feared taking more than what he deed appropriate. So, maybe he should start by explaining.
Or better yet, showing.
Xavier figured that sothing like this might happen. With the limited quantity, these dishes would likely end up in the hands of people who were too secretive.
And true enough, unlike most people, they’d likely keep their affairs private.
So, how else would the hardworking cook get a proper appreciation for the goods he worked so hard on?
So, he thought of getting at least one feedback.
Luca was surprised to see Xavier pulling out a video for him to see.
It was of a young child who looked similar to Xavier but was so much smaller.
And Luca was surprised to hear a child’s delighted cries!
But it wasn’t just delight.
Princess Nina was so overwheld that she thought it was impossible to sleep for tonight.
When Butler Henry ca back rushing from the Auditorium, she was surprised to learn that her big brother had intervened to keep the majority of her money intact.
"Wow! Did you see Big Brother today, Grandpa Hen?" Asked the hopeful princess, who was sadly told no.
"Oh." Sighed the little Princess who couldn’t hide her disappointnt.
"But I was told to deliver a gift for you, Your Highness!"
A gift?
From his brother?!
Like most children, the young Princess wasn’t as strong against gifts, especially when it ca from her big brother whom she hadn’t seen in a very long ti!
Now, Butler Henry felt like telling the Princess about the difficulty of acquiring this gift but was instructed to just let her enjoy it and, when possible, take a video of the sister that he hadn’t seen in a while.
But by the ti the Butler was about to send it, he wasn’t sure if it would be any good.
However, there was no re-taking of anything as the partners-in-cri demolished what should’ve been a al for many.
Admittedly, the recorded scene was a ss.
The video was filled with the tears of one young child and an old Butler who was graced with the right to taste what was probably the food of the gods.
It was certainly Nina’s first ti slling such unique scents. And like her first ti eating a Banana chip, the child was surprised to experience a whole different world of taste.
And frankly, she wasn’t the only one experiencing the sa thing.
Across different households were elites who faced such a unique experience that they were having difficulty processing it.
Then, by the ti they’ve co to their senses, they’d realize that there was nothing left of what used to be a full container of food.
Was it stolen?
Misappropriated?
Or were they just dreaming?
But sadly, no.
It was just eaten too fast without realizing how unlikely it was to ever eat one again.
And if there was one thing that Princess Nina managed to do, it was her ability to exercise restraint in the face of what was apparently a dessert.
Luca marveled at the little Princess who steeled herself to stop eating.
Admittedly, there were tears involved, but she managed to do it nonetheless.
But it wasn’t because she didn’t like the pie.
On the contrary, she liked it so much that she took pains by asking the Butler to cut the pie into smaller pieces that could be stored in these tiny containers.
The little chipmunk was surprised to see one young Princess rationing the pie he made by putting it into different containers and labeling each one.
In fairness to the child, who had to think it over several tis, she ended up deciding to change "Sunday" to "Mom and Dad," albeit begrudgingly.
It was just that she didn’t expect to have to change "Saturday" to "Uncle" as they were caught red-handed again!
Xavier found the whole thing hilarious and couldn’t help but pity the Butler who had to watch all of this unfold.
However, he was surprised to see one affected little chipmunk who suddenly started sniffling by the end of the video!
The little money-grubber was moved and thought about sending a few boxes of desserts to one suffering Princess.
