Now reading: Chapter 209: Biomechas from The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL], a Yaoi novel by Kairie.

Ollie finally saw his good brother’s face today.

Yes, just today.

After what was probably three days in the space.

Every ti the worried blonde looked for his brother, he’d always only hear him from inside this cockpit that Luca was trying to assemble.

While it wasn’t the first ti that Luca had been hyper-focused on anything, this was slightly different, and even Ollie, the actual chanic, couldn’t describe it.

Because this wasn’t the sa build they learned together, this was a biocha.

It was an advanced, semi-organic cha that integrated bio-components with traditionally known structures.

And unlike standard chas, which rely heavily on tal alloys and synthetic circuits, biochas can harness the abilities or traits of their bio-alloy components.

To Ollie, they felt alive, and one such example was Sid.

So when his good brother showed him the blueprints and the steps he summarized from the manufacturing training hall, Ollie felt like he was going to be sick.

It was likely the shadow of having to intake so much spiritual water that had him lurching when he was shown the process of building a biocha.

It needed spiritual energy.

For nearly everything!

And this was probably why it had been lost to ti, forced into obscurity when people no longer had the ans to create entire chas in this manner.

Well, that was also what Sid said in his explanation.

But there he was, watching his insanely capable brother build sothing that hadn’t existed in centuries!

In fact, he was even asked to help at first, only to realize that he was incapable of controlling his spiritual energy like that.

Now, Ollie was only in the process of learning how to use visual resonance, but he could feel it.

Around the fascinated chanic were likely tendrils of spiritual energy, which was mainly the reason things were randomly levitating.

Well, he could feel the imnse pressure from the energy around him, but how he knew of the tendrils was because Kyle described it to him after dragging him out of the hanger like his ass was on fire.

Only for the disgruntled adjutant to explain just how dangerous that was.

Ollie was standing in the middle of a room nearly covered in Luca’s spiritual tendrils, and if he had accidentally released his own energy, they might have had to pick him up in pieces!

One very blonde Ollie-confetti.

And even now, Ollie could rember their conversation.

"It’s that bad?!"

"That bad." Kyle had deadpanned at him, expression stern in a way that could only drive his point.

"He—he’s not really a C-rank, is he?" asked Ollie, even though the answer was obvious. It was just that he needed to hear soone else confirm his thoughts.

"If that’s a C, then we better change ours too. I don’t know, maybe M or P."

Wow.

He thought he had gotten used to his brother being absurdly talented.

That maybe, just maybe, he’d seen everything after almost being shocked into his second life, but apparently, there was still more.

And this was only the first attempt!

So now, with Kyle’s warning in mind, Ollie made sure to avoid leaking any spiritual energy and maybe stay by the door in case sothing happened.

After all, he was pretty sure that they wouldn’t be able to revive confetti even if they wanted to.

But then he saw it!

It seed like today was different, for Luca had finally stepped out of the cockpit!

"Brother!"

His voice echoed in the hangar, nearly startling the aspiring cha maker into dropping the diagnostic pad in his hands.

Luca blinked at him, eyes unfocused from the sheer amount of concentration he had been using.

His hair was a ss.

His normally neat clothes were rumpled, and his posture was slightly stiff from being in the sa position for hours on end.

And yet, his brother was still adorable, just a tad bit too exhausted.

"...Brother?" Luca’s voice ca out hoarse. He frowned slightly, raising a hand to his throat.

"When did you last drink water?! In fact, when did you last co out???" Asked Ollie, who had his hands on his waist in protest.

Luca tilted his head. "But I drank—"

D-29 helpfully projected a digital log in response.

[ Last Hydration: 15 hours ago ]

"..."

The anxious builder wanted to protest but actually couldn’t explain this feeling.

He felt bloated.

And not in the way that ca from eating or drinking too much, but in a way that made him feel strangely empty and overfilled at the sa ti.

His limbs felt heavy, but his core buzzed with raw energy.

It was an odd contradiction.

He had been replenishing himself earlier.

Guzzling it, even.

It was just that instead of breaking his concentration to drink the lake water manually, he had subrged his spiritual tendrils into a water tank, drawing in the energy through sheer instinct.

And yet, it wasn’t enough.

His brows furrowed as he asked himself, ’Why?’

Theoretically, that should’ve worked, and he was sure that he was already taking in lots of energy but was only channeling a portion of it into sothing usable.

And that felt new. It was an inefficiency that he hadn’t encountered before.

Or was it because he had never really needed to use this much spiritual energy, unlike when he was in Tesseris?

This made him feel incapable.

And a little sad.

Because at this rate, just how was he supposed to finish on ti?

And to think he was already given more ti as soone who didn’t have to attend classes while the investigation into Instructor Max was ongoing.

But it seed like he still won’t make it.

However, if the ancient cha makers who had dedicated their entire lives to these techniques could hear his thoughts, they would have surrendered their licenses on the spot.

Because what Luca was doing wasn’t by any ans "proper."

None of the components he assembled were tested and re-tested for compatibility; instead, they were placed there instinctively.

Intuitively.

Like he was very sure.

Then, factor in the rate he was going.

It was monstrous.

And probably the worst part of it was how he had no idea.

No idea that his rate of assembly was sothing that should have taken years of dedicated study and mastery.

No idea that biocha construction was ant to be slow, thodical—careful, so that the spiritual energy would not clash with itself.

But most importantly—

Luca had no idea that it was done that way for a reason.

Because the amount of spiritual energy needed would likely surpass the human physical constitution, especially of chanics who weren’t as gifted in that departnt.

And now, he was struggling to contain it all.

Like energy that couldn’t be used because it had yet to be processed.

But then a sharp, as if very alert pull, yanked at his sluggish tendrils, and for a mont, the frazzled ball of energy was afraid that his tendrils had malfunctioned and wanted to attack Ollie.

So Luca tried redirecting them.

Only, they didn’t listen, like the tendrils suddenly had minds of their own.

And they reached out.

Not towards the spiritual water tank or his brother, who stood in attention after seeing Luca’s facial expression, but towards the hangar door.

"!!!"
