Chapter 67 : Escape (1)

Mir's predictions were always right.

The children who ca outside were divided into two groups and entrusted to different people.

Seya, Mir, and Nihil were entrusted to the man who had been standing on the skinny man's right, and the remaining children were entrusted to the man who had brought Seya to the room.

The man looked at Seya, unable to erase his regretful expression.

Although his remaining patience hit rock bottom when he struck the crown of Seya's head hard as Seya stuck his tongue out without anyone knowing.

"That's enough! There is no use injuring him for nothing."

The skinny man warned him, pulling apart the man who was about to hit Seya one more ti.

"That bastard is acting up without knowing his place."

The man, huffing and puffing unable to overco his anger, obediently fell away from Seya at the touch pulling him apart.

Although the sound of teeth grinding was heard, he couldn't disobey the skinny man's order this ti either.

Despair was revealed on the faces of the children following him who was suppressing his anger.

It seed they thought the children of the group on the opposite side looked more useful than them no matter how much they thought about it.

"Mi, mister. Can't I go over there? I can do anything well too."

One child made a crying sound and was kicked by the man.

"You stupid bastard, are you doing this knowing what kind of treatnt those guys will receive? You are at least the lucky one."

At his sneer, the sound of Nihil swallowing his breath was heard from behind, but Seya didn't mind.

Because dying a aningless death was the sa either way.

"Heuk heuk......."

If only that guy Nihil whining from behind wasn't there, it seed he would have cared a little less.

The skinny man, Seya, Mir, Nihil, and one remaining person walked down the hallway in a single file.

Their steps, walking with children sandwiched between front and back, were fast.

To the extent that they had to move their feet almost as if running.

It was a speed difficult for children with hands tied behind their backs to catch up with.

Seya could feel Mir's breath becoming short right behind him.

We shouldn't waste too much stamina.

Seya thought it would be better to arrive quickly whatever was waiting in that place these damned guys were leading them to.

However, the hallway path they were walking was tangled like a maze, so it was impossible to know whether they were getting closer to the destination or not.

"Walk faster, faster!"

Along with the sound of a rough kick, Mir's short scream was heard from behind.

Damned bastards.

They would know how difficult this is if they tried walking with their hands unable to be used properly.

Suppressing the urge to fly a kick right away, Seya walked looking only forward.

There was the issue of saving stamina, but above all, there was Mir's request to aim for the mont these guys let their guard down.

Tap.

The man's steps stopped.

Seya, who was glaring as if to smash the back of the man's head at the sudden stop, quickly stepped back one step to avoid bumping into his back.

The place he stopped was in front of an ordinary door no different from other rooms they had passed while walking down the hallway.

Seya, who had expected to be taken to so moldy prison, narrowed his eyes and examined the door more closely, but there was nothing special as expected.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The man raised his hand and knocked on the door three tis with breaks.

Whether it was well-oiled or not, the door opened quietly without even a creaking sound.

At the sa ti, Seya had to change his thoughts quickly.

Ordinary room my ass.

From inside the room opened just enough for barely two fists to enter, a heavy sll of blood that seed like it would stick to the nose was leaking out.

"What, you brought two today?"

A low voice with phlegm flowed out from inside.

The skinny man standing in front of Seya turned around, scanned Seya's group quickly, and nodded his head.

"Right, though it would be fortunate if even one cos out among these. Anyway,"

The skinny man stopped talking and pointed inside the room with his chin.

"What is that again, I must have warned you before not to proceed with work without a procedure like this."

"Ah, don't be so uptight. You know I don't do this usually. That guy is the real deal. You probably haven't seen a guy in such good condition either? The probability of fitting the 'condition' is high."

The skinny man, glaring at the owner of the voice emphasizing the word 'condition', roughly opened the door and went inside.

Seya and Mir had to move their steps helplessly at the force pushing from behind.

Upon entering, at the fishy sll that beca strong enough to not be compared to what he slled outside, Seya felt an impulse to block his nose, but his arms tied behind his back did not allow that.

The room, just spacious without any particular features like the door, was illuminated inside by a candlestick hanging on the right wall of the door and a lamp on the ceiling.

Contrary to the expectation that bloodstains would be scattered here and there, it was a clean room.

At the end of the room was a dark red table with a triangular stone slab placed on it, and clean shelves without a single stain were filled with large bottles filled with unidentifiable liquids.

A place more fitting for a laboratory than an execution ground.

Seya's gaze, quickly examining the room, stayed on the peculiar color of the table.

He tilted his head at the mysterious color that was neither brown nor black.

What a peculiar color.

Is expensive wood different from the color?

Seya, who was wondering, soon bit his lip tight and swallowed a scream that was about to burst out.

It's not.

It wasn't originally that color.

It's stained, with blood.

The fact that the whole thing is that color instead of being spotted here and there ans it was covered with blood enough to soak the entire table, not just splattered.

It was the mont he realized the fact that he was in the very place where his friends lost their lives.

***

The sound of Mir and Nihil inhaling small breaths rang in his ears.

It seed Seya wasn't the only one who realized where the source of the sticky blood sll was.

Noticing the two's hardened expressions, the n began to giggle and laugh.

It made his stomach churn at the sight of them clearly enjoying their fear, but he had to endure now.

"Drive the big guy into the corner with that, and put the small one over there. Since the number of people has increased, there are still things left to prepare."

At the command given by the man with a thick voice, Seya and Mir were led by different n's hands and split to both sides.

Only after going to the corner of the room could Seya know what 'that' the n ntioned was.

A child curling his body round and not moving an inch was occupying a spot.

Whether he had been beaten severely or not, the child, curling his body as much as possible, was bowing his head deeply as if afraid to even look at the n.

It would be a bit difficult if a leg was broken.

Seya examined the child's arms and legs.

Seeing him bending his legs without signs of pain, it seed there were no broken corners despite being covered in dust.

Co to think of it, if he's a guy who fits the 'condition' the man ntioned perfectly, there's no need to doubt his sturdiness.

'But the clothes seem like clothes I've seen sowhere a lot.......'

Although it was aningless to distinguish attire among vagrants who were all the sa, still, there was sothing that caught his eye, so Seya narrowed his eyes.

"Heuk, euheuk. Heueoeong."

His thoughts couldn't continue deeply because of the sound of swallowing snot right next to him.

Seya looked at the source of the sound with astonished eyes.

Nihil had started crying.

And that too, with tears and snot flowing down.

The man with phlegm in his voice giggled and mocked Nihil.

"Noisy, be quiet!"

The skinny man shouted towards Nihil.

He was sick and tired of the fact that a child's natural struggle for life was nothing more than a funny and annoying crying sound to the adults in this place.

"Damn it, dirty as hell. You monitor them well while we prepare."

"Is this the first or second ti I'm doing this kind of work? Those guys stiffened like they couldn't do anything."

As the skinny man moved his steps toward the man with the thick voice, the man who received the order stood facing the three children with a face clearly showing his enjoynt.

Perhaps due to Nihil's ssy state, he didn't seem to be particularly wary either.

Seya glared at him, then turned his gaze to the n doing sothing called 'preparation'.

Opening a space under the floor, they took out a water bowl the size of two adult palms from inside.

They lifted it carefully as if it were so precious treasure.

At a glance, blue liquid could be seen sloshing inside.

What is that?

"Seya, where are you distracted? Be careful not to raise suspicion."

Mir, who stuck close to Seya who was looking at them with a frown, muttered as if mumbling.

Probably quietly enough to sound like sniffling from crying to the n's ears.

"No, it's not that. Because I'm bothered by there being one more person."

At Seya's answer, Mir glanced once at the child rolled up like a pill bug across from Seya.

"That guy's life will be taken care of by himself. Focus on the plan."

Since this was also correct, Seya nodded quietly.

And capturing in his eyes the n standing centered around the stone slab taking out a huge bowl from under the table, he quietly lowered his head towards the guy.

"Hey, if sothing happens later, hold your breath and run toward the door unconditionally. You must hold your breath. If you can't, I can't take responsibility."

Since the opponent didn't budge, Seya couldn't know if his words were conveyed properly.

If he couldn't hear because he lost consciousness, it couldn't be helped.

Because as Mir said, Seya was busy taking care of his own friend too.

When he raised his head again, he saw Mir, whose eyes t his, nodding carefully and counting numbers with the shape of his lips.

'Three'

'Two'

'One'

Simultaneously as the count ended, Seya pounced on the man standing guard.

"What?! This bastard dares!"

The man was greatly flustered as the guy who was obediently listening like a sick chick suddenly went berserk.

Seya was not clumsy enough to miss that mont.

With quick movents showing clearly that the mad dog of the back alleys is a mad dog even with hands tied, Seya dodged the hand the man swung and headbutted his Adam's apple.

Then imdiately regaining his balance, he kicked the man's crotch once and sprang toward the door.

"Where!"

The n who were working approached quickly and grabbed Seya.

The candlestick shook as the child's shoulder hit the wall strongly.

Seya swung his hands and feet wildly even while rolling on the floor.

"Is this the best you can do? Running to the door? There is a limit to being stupid!"

The skinny man pressed down on Seya's head, but Seya never stopped resisting.

Thud!

Finally, as Seya's foot hit the wall hard, the candlestick hanging on the wall fell over.

The candle fla that fell on the floor survived without going out thanks to the oil inside the plate.

Capturing that slow fall in his eyes, Seya could smile even at the mont he was grabbed by the collar by the man.

From the beginning, he had no interest in the door or anything like that.

"Mir!"

While the n were focused on Seya, Mir threw the round lump he had hidden in his sleeve into the fire.

Bang!

Along with a small explosion sound, white smoke began to fill the entire room.

"Cough! Cough! What is this!"

The n had to lie on the floor without even ti to realize the identity of the gas filling the room.

Because the spicy smoke pierced through the nose, mouth, and every opening of the body.

And the urge to vomit rising soon after.

"Blerghhh! This is......, blergh!"

"Damn, blergh! Damn it! Catch, blergh! Brats! Blerghhh!"

It was a ssy spectacle.

The n tried to hold back the vomit sohow, but grabbing their throats and stomachs, they slumped down as if it didn't go as they wished.

Although it was dirty, it was a success.

Seya, who was holding his breath in advance, shook off the flustered adults' hands and headed for the door.

It was certain that Mir would have opened the door properly as soon as he threw the etic agent.

Since once they get out the door, sothing would work out.

Seya ran quickly toward the door.

"Urgh!"

If it weren't for the strong force snatching his collar, he would have done so.

What revealed itself through the smoke was the man with the biggest build among the group.

'Damn it, of all people.'

It seed the guy who looked the dullest reacted the fastest.

The man covering his mouth and nose with his remaining hand seed to be holding back the urge to vomit, but showed no sign of collapsing like the other guys at all.

Things would have been easier if it were the skinny man, but luck rarely followed in difficult situations.

Although he struggled with all his might, the hand that gripped him once didn't seem to have any intention of letting the child go easily.

Strength was draining due to the breath held to avoid inhaling the gas.

He swung his foot to kick between the opponent's legs sohow, but it didn't reach well.

If only this bastard's strength drains a little, just a really little.......

Soft fur passed by the face of the child whose consciousness was becoming faint.

Soft?

"Ugh!"

At the mont he thought he was finally losing consciousness, the man burst out a death rattle and removed the hand covering his mouth.

Thwack!

Soon after, along with the sound of impact, the man's body tilted slightly to the left.

Seya did not miss the opportunity of the mont when strength loosened a little in the man's hand.

Squeezing out his remaining strength, Seya was able to kick strongly and accurately between the man's legs this ti.

"Aaargh!"

Checking the man rolling his eyes back through the smoke, Seya collapsed on the floor.

There were those running holding the child's hand as if there was no ti for that.

Who is it?

One is naturally Mir, but who is the remaining one?

It didn't take a long ti to realize the identity of the opponent who clearly helped the child.

It was the guy who was curling his body helplessly until just now.

"People will gather soon. We have to find a way out before that."

Feeling his mind, which had been faint from the gas, returning sharply at the quiet voice, Seya opened his eyes wide.

Only then did the clothes that were strangely familiar co into view.

Tattered sleeves, worn-out pant hems, and rags that were embarrassing to even call an outer garnt.

They were his clothes left behind at the ducal castle.

And the one wearing that is,

"Young master?!"
