Deep beneath the shattered peaks of the Ironstone Mountains lay the tomb of Thalrik Bonecrusher, the once-mighty dwarf king whose kingdom had been annihilated by rival clans and human invaders. Death had not been kind, nor final. Through forbidden necromancy, Thalrik’s bones had been reanimated, his mind sharp, his rage eternal, his crown fused with the cold magic that held him in undeath.
The Guide System whispered as Sonar approached, accompanied by Veyra, Korrak, Seraphis, Nyssara, Draven, Kaelen, Xyrris, and Selene:
[Potential Executioner Detected: Thalrik Bonecrusher – Title: “The Undying Warlord.”]
[Evaluation: Loyalty Achieved Through Respect and Strength.]
“An immortal dwarf,” Veyra muttered. “Even Kaelen’s magic cannot chain him willingly.”
Sonar’s black eyes glimred. “Then I will earn his respect… or take it.”
Thalrik’s tomb was a fortress of bones and stone, lit by green necrotic fire. At its center, Thalrik’s skeletal fra sat upon a throne of shattered swords, his skull crowned, eyes glowing with undying fury. His voice rumbled like boulders grinding together:
“Who dares enter my tomb?”
Sonar stepped forward, his cloak flowing like liquid shadow. “I am Sonar Von Draconia. I seek warriors who are stronger than kingdoms. I seek legends who will follow only . You, Thalrik Bonecrusher, are the last king of your line, and I offer purpose beyond death.”
Thalrik’s laugh was bone-chilling. “Purpose beyond death? Mortals speak boldly when they crawl on the surface. I have waited centuries, and none have dared command . Leave… or die again.”
“Then let us test that,” Sonar said. Black fire surged around him, coiling like serpents.
The tomb shook as Thalrik rose, armored in spectral steel, warhamr in hand. The undead king charged, each strike shattering stone. Korrak and Draven leapt to intercept, but even combined, their blows were absorbed by Thalrik’s indestructible form.
Sonar watched carefully, then extended a hand. Shadows poured from his palm, not to strike, but to demonstrate control over life and death itself. The black fire twisted around Thalrik’s hamr, rendering its strikes sluggish, bending even his fury to Sonar’s calculation.
The dwarf king paused, studying the mortal who could move even the Undying Warlord like a puppet. Respect, cold and sharp, crept into his glowing eyes.
“You… are no ordinary man,” Thalrik said. “Speak plainly, boy. Why should I serve the living?”
“Because kingdoms fall, kings die, and magic falters. But together, we will forge an empire where death answers only to us. Your strength will stand as its foundation, eternal. Betray , and I will shatter your bones again — for eternity. Obey , and together we will crush the world.”
Silence fell. Then, slowly, Thalrik lowered his hamr and knelt. “I am Thalrik Bonecrusher, king of the fallen. My strength, my armies, and my undying fury… all belong to Sonar Von Draconia. Betray , and even death will avenge . Serve , and the world shall tremble before our empire.”
Sonar extended his hand, and Thalrik pressed his skeletal fingers to it. The Guide System confird:
[Recruitnt Complete: Thalrik Bonecrusher – The Undying Warlord.]
[Ninth Executioner Acquired.]
Nine shadows now followed Sonar, each stronger, deadlier, and more loyal than any mortal army.
The Draconic Executioners were almost complete.
And soon, nothing — not kingdoms, gods, nor monsters — could stand against them.
