Now reading: The First Alliance Betrayed from The Shadow of Draconia, a Action novel by Ash.

The neighboring kingdoms of Calveron and Branthor had initially pledged allegiance to the Draconia Empire. Gold was sent, armies promised, and oaths sworn under the shadow of Morgrath circling the skies. Yet Sonar Von Draconia’s intelligence network, led by Veyra and Selene, revealed troubling whispers: Branthor plotted rebellion, and Calveron wavered in loyalty.

Sonar convened the Council of Executioners in the war chamber. His black eyes scanned each of his lieutenants, calculating the most effective response.

“They think they can deceive Draconia,” Sonar said softly, almost contemplative. “They will learn what betrayal costs.”

Korrak clenched his fists. “Shall we strike imdiately, Sovereign?”

Sonar’s smile was cold. “Not yet. This is a lesson, not a battle. They will see our reach, our inevitability, and know the price of false loyalty.”

The first demonstration ca with Branthor. Their capital city had begun mobilizing secretly, preparing to resist Draconia’s rule. Sonar sent a single envoy: Kaelen, draped in shadows, carrying a simple ssage:

“Disloyalty is punished. Obedience is rewarded. Decide quickly.”

The city ignored the warning. Within hours, Xyrris and Draven unleashed devastation on Branthor’s army before it could form. Lava and fire tore through fortifications. Chaos reigned as Draven and Xyrris struck with surgical precision.

Morgrath descended upon the castle gates, freezing them solid and splitting walls with sheer force. Kaelen’s undead legions poured into the streets, cutting off retreat. Selene bound the city’s remaining mages with chains of magical suppression.

The king of Branthor finally appeared atop the central tower, trembling, begging for rcy. Sonar appeared before him in the ash and smoke, black fire curling around him.

“Disloyalty is a lesson,” Sonar said calmly. “I offer life… if you kneel. But defy , and nothing remains of you or your lineage.”

The king hesitated, and Xyrris swung his axes in a roar that split the sky. The city fell silent. The king knelt, his people trembling in terror.

Calveron, observing the destruction, sent their envoys imdiately to swear renewed allegiance. Veyra and Selene confird their compliance, and the king was forced to witness the destruction of Branthor as a warning.

Sonar addressed the Executioners after the city was pacified. “Fear is our greatest weapon. Loyalty bought with gold is weak. Loyalty bought with fear is eternal. Let this lesson echo across every kingdom. Draconia tolerates no defiance. Not a single whisper of rebellion shall survive.”

Morgrath’s wings stretched across the horizon, Xyrris and Draven roared in unison, and Kaelen’s skeletal army marched through the ruined streets. Even from miles away, the kingdoms could feel the shadow of Draconia, a force that punished betrayal with rciless precision.

Sonar’s black eyes glead with satisfaction. The first test of empire loyalty was complete. The lesson was clear: betray Draconia, and the world will burn.
