Four days later, the situation in the city remained the sa, filled with vigilance and tension as the devils continued searching for Aldrian.
However, for the past four days, Aldrian had stopped killing any devils. This made those searching for him wonder if he had already escaped. But, even if he had escaped, they believed he would never leave this world.
The Necromancer King was still staying in the city, and his undead continued searching for Aldrian. At tis, he even summoned weaker undead to assist in the search. Thousands of skeleton soldiers with emperor stage cultivation spread across the land to look for Aldrian.
All devil settlents across the world had already received notice about the existence of an assassin. Because of this, they had also raised their guard. The news had even spread to other worlds in the central region of heaven.
They were preparing themselves in case the assassin moved toward another place where devils were gathered.
Many vessels traveled back and forth from other worlds, bringing reinforcents to search for Aldrian.
This was a major matter because it was the first ti an assassin had infiltrated this region, a place the devils had occupied for eons, yet still could not be caught.
Even when one of the overlords ca personally, they still could not catch the assassin.
But unbeknownst to the devils, Aldrian had not gone far from the city. He was on a hill where he could see the entire city, spending his ti watching the devils’ movents or cultivating. Seeing thousands of devils and undead moving back and forth while searching for him was quite a sight.
The devils would never realize that he was just outside the city, calmly resting there.
His concealnt technique was always active. The weakness of his concealnt technique, which was based on death laws, was that it could be sensed by those who could perceive the death aura of the death laws when they were close to him.
Two ters was the distance he concluded after testing it by approaching the undead.
With such a short range, he was confident that as long as no undead or Necromancer King patrolled in his direction, no one would find him.
Now, why did he simply wait and do nothing?
That was because he was still waiting. He was waiting to see what kind of developnt would follow his assassination a few days ago.
At this mont, after several days of waiting, a special interstellar vessel landed at the landing site outside the city. A group of figures disembarked from it, and one of them surprised Aldrian.
Another overlord had actually arrived!
From the mories of the Vampire King, this one was the overlord who oversaw the western side of the First Heaven, the Heavenly Spear Devil.
Seeing that another overlord had co made Aldrian curious about what kind of developnt had taken place in the center of Heaven.
With a spear strapped to his back, the Heavenly Spear Devil walked leisurely toward the destroyed city hall. All the devils bowed to him and did not dare show even the slightest disrespect. None of them even raised their heads.
After reaching the city hall, the Heavenly Spear Devil t with the Necromancer King in one of the rooms that remained intact. The Necromancer King seed to still be concentrating on his connection with his undead.
"Did we still fail to catch that assassin? Is he really that difficult to track?" the Heavenly Spear Devil asked.
"That assassin used pseudo death laws to support his concealnt technique. From my understanding, his mastery of pseudo death laws is much higher than mine, as he can manipulate the pseudo death energy to make himself disappear from any sense," the Necromancer King answered.
"His pseudo death energy can basically make any sense ’die.’ The only way soone could sense him is if he is nearby, by detecting the minuscule death aura that still leaks from the pseudo death energy he uses."
"However, only people like or the undead can sense it. Do you understand the difficulty now?" The Necromancer King then opened his eyes.
The Heavenly Spear Devil nodded.
"Anyway, I ca here to tell you that we have news from the Higher Heaven. It looks like our relationship with the followers of God Arvegis is getting worse, and even our god does not seem to mind the conflict between our factions." His words made the Necromancer King raise his eyebrows.
"So of our forces in the Second Heaven have already fallen into conflict with the followers of God Arvegis," the Heavenly Spear Devil continued.
Hearing that, the Necromancer King was not surprised. Instead, it confird what he had already suspected. Their god did not know about the infiltration, and the relationship between their god and God Arvegis had beco really bad.
For their god to not mind the conflict with God Arvegis ant that the Gods’ Covenant might be crumbling.
If that was the case, their situation would beco much more difficult. They would now have another powerful enemy to worry about in the Higher Heaven.
God Arvegis’ position was still much stronger. The entire Second Heaven was already under his rule, while their god had yet to conquer the whole First Heaven.
Compared to God Arvegis and his followers, they were at a disadvantage.
"The reinforcents of the immortals from the Higher Heaven have also stopped starting today, which likely shows that the situation in the Higher Heaven is quite severe," the Heavenly Spear Devil sighed.
"The ssenger told that five divine beings wanted to descend as our reinforcents. Initially, all of them were supposed to descend here, but after the conflict with the followers of God Arvegis began, so of them decided to remain in the Second Heaven to support our forces there."
The Necromancer King widened his eyes. Aldrian, who was also eavesdropping on their conversation, raised his eyebrows.
To think that those invading gods were really trying to send divine realm cultivators. They did not mind bearing a huge burden on their existence by forcing the law of causality to weaken to the point divine beings from their side could descend.
However, he could not help but feel curious.
How strong would those divine beings be when fighting him?
Although they would descend in a sealed state and be many tis weaker in that condition, they were still divine beings. Fighting them would give him a clearer idea of how strong he was compared to them while they were sealed.
"Divine beings? Our god is sending divine beings as reinforcents? How serious is the situation in this heaven for him to send divine realm beings to descend here? Have we been underestimating the severity of the problem in this heaven?" the Necromancer King said in astonishnt.
The Heavenly Spear Devil nodded.
"I’m afraid so. Anyway, you should co with . The ssenger said the divine beings will arrive today, and we should greet them when they arrive."
The Necromancer King sighed.
"Aish, the problem with the assassin has still not been solved, and he is still roaming around. It would be really shaful if those divine beings see this."
The Heavenly Spear Devil shrugged.
"It cannot be helped. The incident happened right when they were about to descend. Moreover, I believe they will understand the situation since it also involves the followers of God Arvegis."
Not long after, the Necromancer King and the Heavenly Spear Devil left the city hall. Necromancer King ordered the devils not to relax the search while he was gone and returned the highest authority to Zeskia.
Seeing them walk toward an interstellar vessel, Aldrian decided to follow them.
He decided that this was the best ti for him to head to the Center of Heaven. With divine beings descending, he knew he could not wait any longer.
He could not allow those divine realm cultivators to roam freely in the First Heaven. Their existence was the most dangerous factor for the safety of his family and the First Heaven itself.
He had to make sure to kill them before they could leave the Central Region of Heaven.
He kept his distance, and when the two overlords entered the vessel, he teleported to the top of it. He decided to stay there until they reached their destination. He did not want to risk being discovered by anyone inside the vessel who could sense death aura.
He needed to reach the Center of Heaven undetected. That would give him the advantage of surprise.
The vessel slowly floated upward before leaving the world’s atmosphere and flying away from the planet. Aldrian protected himself with a spatial barrier and grabbed the vessel’s hull with his hand.
He strengthened his ten fingers with energy and pierced the hull so he would not be thrown away when the vessel jumped into warp.
The mont the vessel jumped into warp, he felt an extre acceleration that would have thrown him out of the wormhole if he had not been holding onto the hull.
This kind of action was extrely dangerous. Anyone thrown inside a wormhole had a chance of becoming trapped in the void of space if they were unlucky. The effect of such extre speed could also destroy a cultivator’s body if they could not withstand it.
That was why no one dared attempt the kind of stunt Aldrian was performing.
Fortunately for Aldrian, his body was strong, and he was not worried about energy depletion. Moreover, the distance to their destination did not seem far, so he could endure it even without relying on his domain.
After only six hours of warp travel, the vessel finally erged from the wormhole.
Not far ahead of them, a new world ca into view.
