Angelica felt nervous as she had never t Heavenly Demon nor seen his face. She had only heard his na and the things he had done, so she did not recognize the man standing before her.
Yet sothing about him stirred a strange sense of connection within her.
Heavenly Demon looked at Angelica with a faint smile, but his gaze felt as though it could see through everything about her. His gaze that seed could see everything even to the most secret of the universe!
"Interesting. To think I found sothing interesting here while searching for the seven divine flowers for my wife," he said, his tone carrying amusent.
"Let’s see...hmm. So you are the direct descendent of Karvius family that has been said to be talentless."
Cold sweat rolled down Angelica’s forehead. This man knew her identity. If he held any ill intent, she would be finished. If he chose to act against her family, they would be dragged down with her. That was sothing she could not allow.
She tried to reach for the talisman in her pocket to escape, but her body froze when she found nothing there.
Her eyes widened.
Then she saw Heavenly Demon casually waving sothing in his hand. They were all of her talismans.
Her heart trembled. Fear rose within her, yet her mind continued to move, searching for a way out. Even without the talismans, she forced herself to think, to find even a single possibility.
"Relax, child. I am not going to harm you. If I had that kind of intent, you would not know anything before you realized it," Heavenly Demon said, as if he could read every thought in her mind.
Angelica did not trust him. Her body remained tense, ready to react at any mont.
"I simply find it interesting. To encounter a being carrying a special physique I have never seen before. It seems our universe have created sothing extraordinary this ti."
His gaze revealed a rare expression, one filled with genuine amazent.
Angelica’s eyes narrowed.
She has a special physique?
"Many say you are talentless, but that is because you have not found the correct thod to cultivate. No matter how you try to cultivate using normal thods, it will never work. Even if you rely on rare treasures or miracle elixirs."
"The current talent-appraising artifacts cannot evaluate you either. That is why you were judged as having black talent."
Angelica’s eyes widened. Her heart beat faster. Although she still felt suspicious of the man, her desire to cultivate normally and grow stronger outweighed her doubts. He seed to understand sothing about her condition, and she was willing to take the risk.
"Do you know what is happening to , sir? What is this special physique you are talking about? Do you know how to fix my problem?"
Heavenly Demon smiled.
"Well, this is my first ti seeing a condition like yours, so there is no known physique to compare it with. However, I can attempt a thod that may suit you."
Angelica’s eyes glimred.
"Could you help , sir? I will repay your kindness if you do." She bowed to him. Although she did not know how she could repay soone like him, she resolved to do everything in her power if he truly helped her.
This revealed the depth of her desperation. She still did not fully trust him, but soone who understood her condition was an opportunity she could not ignore.
Heavenly Demon did not answer imdiately. Instead, his gaze shifted to the book in her hands. A warm smile appeared on his face as he spoke.
"Child, do you like the stories in that book?"
Angelica was stunned. She looked at the book in her hand, then smiled.
"Yes, I like this book. I like how fate works through those unfortunate yet fortunate people. They were truly lucky to et the Great Emperor, who in the end changed their fate," she said honestly.
"I can only imagine... what if I t the Great Emperor? He must be able to fix my body’s problem—"
Her words stopped. She quickly looked at Heavenly Demon, her eyes trembling.
"Are you—"
"Ahahaha, no, I am not him." Heavenly Demon waved his hand. "I am not that great. But you could say I am soone who aspires to be like him."
As he said this, his eyes turned slightly distant for a brief mont before returning to normal.
"Anyway, eting you here is also a fate. I may have a thod that could fix your problem. If you agree, you will have to follow for so ti. This is sothing that interests as well, and I want to see if it works. You do not need to think about repaying for now. The most important thing is to fix your condition."
"But I must warn you, this thod is dangerous. You could lose your life, as it has never been attempted before. However, if it succeeds, you may gain an ability that only two people in history have ever possessed."
Angelica raised her eyebrows. She fell silent for a mont, then took a deep breath. It did not take her long to decide.
What was the difference between death and continuing to live like this? Perhaps death would be better than such a miserable existence.
Her face was filled with determination.
"I will do it. If I am too afraid to try, nothing will change. Even if it risks my life, I am willing to bet on it. I would rather die trying than live miserably like this."
Heavenly Demon smiled and nodded.
"Good. I like your determination. Inform your parents first, because you may be gone for so ti. It would not be good to make them worry."
Heavenly Demon snapped his fingers, and in that instant mont, Angelica found herself standing in front of her family’s mansion, hundreds of kiloters away.
She was astonished. The nearby guards were also stunned by her sudden appearance.
Angelica did not waste any ti and imdiately entered the mansion.
She soon t her father in his private study. His gaze was as gentle as ever whenever he looked at her. Despite her condition, neither her father nor her mother had ever shown disgust or regret.
They truly loved her and had always done their best to support her.
"What is it, dear? What do you want to speak with about?" her father asked in a warm voice.
Angelica then told him about her eting with Heavenly Demon and his offer to fix her condition. After hearing everything, her father’s eyes narrowed.
’My transcendence sense within her body was not triggered. There are only two possibilities. Either that man is truly genuine... or he can conceal his intent to the point that even I cannot detect it.’
After finishing her explanation, Angelica could only wait as her father fell into silence, deep in thought. She hoped he would agree. This might be her only chance to change her condition.
She had already prepared herself to persuade him if he refused.
As her father continued to weigh his decision, his consciousness was suddenly pulled away.
In the next mont, he found himself standing in the very place where Heavenly Demon had t Angelica.
He was stunned, but the mont his eyes landed on Heavenly Demon’s face, shock filled his expression.
"The Demon God... Lord Heavenly Demon!" he cried as he imdiately bowed.
Heavenly Demon smiled in response. "Rise. There is no need to be so formal. I am not your superior."
"How could I not show my utmost respect? You are one of the Divine Overlords, and one of the closest to the Great Emperor. This is the least I can do," Angelica’s father said in reverence, still bowing.
"Suit yourself then," Heavenly Demon replied. "The man your daughter ntioned... is . I intend to try and resolve her condition. I find her situation quite interesting."
Hearing this, Angelica’s father’s eyes widened as he lifted his head. Then, a look of joy appeared on his face.
"So the one who t Angelica was you, Lord Heavenly Demon. Then this is truly her blessing. If it is you, then there may truly be a way."
But Heavenly Demon’s expression turned serious.
"However, this thod may be dangerous for her. Her condition is sothing even I have never seen before. I do have a thod in mind that might work, but there is still a chance of failure. And failure... ans death."
A chill ran through Angelica’s father’s heart. His body froze.
"When I asked her, she chose to proceed. I am prepared to take her away to begin. I told her to inform her parents first, so she would not leave without notice and cause unnecessary worry."
Angelica’s father remained silent, his thoughts in turmoil.
His only child... could die.
He did not know what to say. His daughter had already made her choice. He understood her pain, understood the pressure she carried as soone labeled talentless. She must have been desperate to change her fate, to seize any chance that appeared before her.
Every disappointed gaze directed at her had pained him as her father. And it had hurt her even more.
He wanted to see her stand proud, without anyone looking down on her. Without whispers behind her back.
He wanted to see her shine, just as he had hoped when he gave her that na.
After a few monts of contemplation, he gritted his teeth and looked at Heavenly Demon.
"Please... help my daughter, my lord."
