"Are you a hunter, Yuheng?" Aldrian asked.
Mo Yuheng was stunned for a mont, then he showed a bitter smile and slightly lowered his head.
"Well, I could be considered one if we talk about official recognition by the governnt, since I already registered as one... but I don’t dare to call myself a hunter." Mo Yuheng spoke with clear self-awareness.
"Why?" Aldrian asked.
Mo Yuheng looked at Aldrian.
"I suppose that Mister Aldrian already knows about the hunter ranks in this world, from F to SSSS-rank?"
Aldrian nodded, which made Mo Yuheng continue.
"Do you know about the awakening ceremony to beco a hunter?"
Aldrian shook his head. "No, I don’t know that much detail yet."
Mo Yuheng nodded.
"All people born after the apocalypse era, once they reach seventeen years old, will be checked to see if they have talent as a hunter. This is what we call the awakening ceremony. At that mont, people will know what kind of power they have, and also what kind of potential they possess."
"In this awakening ceremony, natural selection appears clearly. The talented rise, while the untalented are pushed aside. In rare genius cases, so can awaken directly as D-rank, and there are even records of C-rank."
"For those who awaken as F-rank, they still have a chance to rise in the future, and this is already common. So those who get F-rank in their awakening ceremony are not truly hopeless. As long as they have resources, they can increase their rank."
"But the problem is, during the awakening ceremony, our future potential can also be seen. This is where things can turn much worse... or much better. Most people will at least have D-rank potential even if they start at F-rank."
"The rank potential signifies the rank they can reach in their lifeti, and it becos their limit. The higher your potential, the greater the probability that you will reach it. With higher potential, your treatnt by the governnt and society will also be very different. After all, the governnt will pour more resources into hunters with high potential."
Mo Yuheng took a deep breath and slowly released it. It was as if even explaining this weighed heavily on him.
"However, there is a very rare case where a hunter awakens as F-rank and also has F-rank potential. An F-rank hunter is simply too weak to face most monsters, so they are usually only used as cleaners during gate clearing... or as cannon fodder."
"Well, you can imagine what kind of fate awaits soone who awakens as F-rank and also knows that their potential is F-rank. And I’m one of those unfortunate cases."
"With F-rank power and F-rank potential... I don’t think I dare to call myself a hunter in this world where so many are far stronger than ."
Silence followed. Then, as if realizing he had said too much, he showed an apologetic expression and hurriedly spoke.
"My apologies if I talked too much. I got carried away by the topic. It was not my intention to show you my problems."
Aldrian smiled. "It’s okay. I will not judge you by how strong you are. With your explanation, I learned more about the hunter system of this world. So please don’t feel bad or look down on yourself."
Mo Yuheng sighed and showed a small smile. He thought that Aldrian was only saying that to cheer him up, but it didn’t feel bad. At this mont, he needed words like that to soothe his heart.
Seeing Mo Yuheng’s state, Aldrian could not help but feel a pity. At the sa ti, he felt fortunate. He had found a seed that could be cultivated into one of the strongest under him.
Just as he expected, Mo Yuheng still did not know his true worth. He was unaware of his special physique, and that was not surprising. There was no way the people of this world would know about special physique.
He guessed that the reason he was only rated F-rank and had F-rank potential was because the assessnt machines of this world could not detect the potential of a special physique.
A special physique was too extraordinary to be asured by such machines and would naturally appear untalented... as if it had no potential at all.
Mo Yuheng’s special physique was far too powerful for this world. He needed a greater stage to truly shine!
"Yuheng, what is your power as a hunter? Could you show ?" Aldrian said, feigning ignorance. He knew that with a Divine Fla Sovereign Constitution, the power would naturally be connected to fire.
He only wanted to bait Mo Yuheng into using it.
Mo Yuheng was stunned, but with hesitation and a hint of embarrassnt, he stretched out his hand. A fla suddenly blanketed his entire palm.
"Well, I can use the fire elent, and I can control it quite easily... but I can only release this much heat. Depending on the place, I can produce stronger fire, but even then, I get tired quickly," he explained as the fla on his palm flickered, its heat barely be felt across the small guest room.
Aldrian and the others focused on Mo Yuheng, quietly sensing the flow of energy within him.
Sylphia, Baek Jimin, and Angelica, as emperor stage cultivators with strong senses, finally understood why he said he would quickly feel tired when using his power. Through this, they also gained a clearer understanding of the hunters’ abilities.
Although the hunters of this world used a different cultivation system from the one they ca from, the fundantal principles were still the sa.
Mo Yuheng, like any other hunter, also possessed a dantian, just like a normal cultivator.
They believed that this dantian functioned in much the sa way.
What they sensed from Mo Yuheng was that when he controlled the fla, the rate at which energy was drawn from his dantian was extrely high.
Because of that, he would quickly fall into a state of energy depletion, leaving his body weak.
Aldrian reached the sa conclusion, but he understood the root of the problem more clearly. It was not that Mo Yuheng was inherently weak, but that his body had never been trained properly.
With his special physique, he needed to train in the right environnt so that both his body and his dantian could grow strong enough to contain far more fire energy. The quality of heaven and earth energy here was also lacking, which further suppressed his power.
He also needed to refine his control over fire, so that he would not waste so much energy just to produce such a small fla.
Mo Yuheng then let the fire on his palm fade away. He released a slow breath, his face showing clear exhaustion.
"Even making that fire already makes feel tired. That’s why I only have F-rank potential," he said.
Silence lingered for a mont before Aldrian spoke.
"Mo Yuheng, would you like to follow to my world?" he asked, his expression serious.
Mo Yuheng was stunned. He blinked a few tis before his eyes widened in shock.
"What?"
"Would you like to follow to my world? I know it sounds abrupt and unbelievable to you, but I can make you much stronger. I was not just trying to cheer you up when I said you should not look down on yourself. Your true worth is sothing that cannot be contained in this world, and it would be a waste to leave you here," Aldrian repeated solemnly.
"Actually, this is what I wanted to talk to you about. Since earlier, when we t in front of the house, I already sensed that you were special. After hearing your story, it only strengthened my belief. That is why I intend to bring you to my world."
Mo Yuheng’s heart trembled. His body froze, his mind going blank.
He could beco much stronger? His worth was far greater than he thought? Sothing that could not be contained on earth?
After a few monts of silence, Mo Yuheng slowly opened his lips.
"Are you serious, Mister Aldrian? But doesn’t potential—"
"I never joke about matters like this," Aldrian replied, cutting him off. "And you were about to say that potential cannot be changed, right? Wrong. It can be changed with the right thod. If soone says that potential cannot be changed, it only ans they do not know how to change it."
"But in your case, it is not that your potential is low. It is that your potential is far too high for the machines of this world to properly assess. That is why I said your true worth cannot be contained here."
"However, the choice is still yours. If you do not want it, then there is nothing I can do. It is your decision, and I do not force people," Aldrian said, his gaze locked onto Mo Yuheng’s eyes. "But if you follow , I can make you one of the strongest."
"The choice is yours."
Mo Yuheng’s eyes trembled. He lowered his head, and the atmosphere fell silent.
