A eunuch in elaborate robes stepped forward from his position beside the empty throne, his voice trained to carry across the vast hall with perfect clarity.

"His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Thalric von Astabahn, Sovereign of the Unified Territories, Guardian of the Heavenly Mandate, and Lord of All Under Heaven!"

The effect was imdiate and absolute. Every person in the hall—ministers, generals, court officials, nobles—dropped into deep bows, their bodies expressing the submission and respect demanded by imperial protocol. Even Prince Milan and Prince Andrion bowed, though as mbers of the imperial family, their bows were less pronounced.

Only two people in the hall remained standing: General Remin, whose position and rank granted him the privilege of remaining upright in the Emperor’s presence, and Jolthar, who had not been explicitly instructed on protocol and was following Remin’s lead.

Everyone in the hall frowned and questioned why he was not bowing, but no one outright said it out loud. It was a common greeting to the emperor, but Jolthar was not having it.

The Emperor entered through a door behind the throne, and Jolthar imdiately understood why this man commanded an empire.

He appeared to be in his fifties, though he carried himself with the vigor of soone decades younger. His features were handso in a way that suggested both strength and intelligence, with sharp eyes that missed nothing and a bearing that radiated absolute authority. He wore robes of deep crimson and gold, simple in design but made from fabrics so fine they seed to shimr with inner light.

But more than his appearance, it was his aura that dominated the space. Power radiated from him—not the wild, primal energy of Jolthar’s transformations, but sothing refined and controlled, the result of decades of cultivation and the accumulated authority of ruling an empire. The pressure of his presence filled the hall, making everyone acutely aware of exactly who held ultimate power in this realm.

Only General Remin possessed a similar aura—two Tier 10 powerhouses in the sa room, their combined presence enough to make lesser warriors struggle to breathe normally.

As the Emperor moved toward the throne, the pressure of his aura gradually retracted, becoming less overwhelming though no less present.

Accompanying him was Empress Mandaqini, her beauty undiminished by age, her own presence formidable if not quite matching her husband’s raw power. She moved with the grace of soone who had spent decades at the center of imperial politics.

They reached their respective positions—the Emperor settling onto the throne itself and Mandaqini taking the slightly lower but still prominent seat designated for the primary consort.

As she sat, her eyes found Jolthar, and her expression was one of undisguised disdain. This was the man who had defeated her daughter, humiliated the imperial Princess, and now stood before the throne without apparent fear or contrition.

She noticed that he wasn’t bowing when they entered and openly showed her hatred towards him. She didn’t need to hide it. Though the emperor didn’t pay any mind to the disrespect.

The Emperor’s voice rang out, carrying natural authority that needed no amplification.

"Rise."

Everyone in the hall straightened, raising their heads but maintaining respectful postures. The Emperor’s gaze swept across the assembly, taking in the ministers, the military officials and the princes, and finally settling on Jolthar with an expression of analytical curiosity.

"We have much to discuss," the Emperor said simply.

Pri Minister Bahste Fatler stepped forward from the assembled ministers, moving with the careful precision of soone who had spent a lifeti navigating treacherous political waters.

He bowed deeply before speaking, his thin fra and grey hair giving him the appearance of a scholarly grandfather, though his eyes were sharp as knives.

"Your Imperial Majesty, we have brought before you a matter of gravest concern to the empire’s stability and the integrity of imperial law," Bahste began, his voice carrying the practiced cadence of soone who knew exactly how to present information for maximum impact.

"Jolthar Kaezhlar of Tekkora stands accused of multiple cris against the empire, each one severe enough to warrant capital punishnt on its own rit."

He paused, allowing the weight of that statent to settle before continuing.

"First and foremost, he attacked Princess Tamnarasi, Commander of the Dreadmarchen and your daughter, Your Majesty. He engaged her in combat and inflicted serious injuries upon her person, an act that constitutes direct assault on a mber of the imperial family and, by extension, an attack on imperial authority itself."

The Emperor’s expression remained neutral, giving nothing away.

"Furthermore," Bahste continued, "when imperial officials—acting within their lawful authority—attempted to arrest him for questioning regarding these and other matters, he murdered Magistrate Enforcer Alden Veyra in cold blood, executing an official of the empire in front of multiple witnesses without trial, justification, or remorse."

Murmurs rippled through the assembled officials and the faces of Milan and Andrion wrinkled further.

Mandaqini’s expression beca even more hostile.

Bahste’s voice took on additional gravity. "And when the Shinokishi and Aethar Corps were deployed to bring him to justice, he slaughtered hundreds of elite imperial warriors and mages, demonstrating not only contempt for imperial law but active rebellion against the empire’s military forces."

The Pri Minister turned slightly, gesturing toward Richardus to continue the prosecution.

Minister Richardus stepped forward, bowing before launching into his own recitation.

"Your Imperial Majesty, beyond these imdiate violent acts, Jolthar Kaezhlar has a history of criminal behavior that predates his arrival in the capital. He executed Baron Rothgard of Tekkora without authorization from the Ministry of Justice, taking it upon himself to administer capital punishnt despite having no legal authority to do so."

Richardus pulled out docunts, holding them up as evidence. "Additionally, there are serious questions regarding financial corruption in Tekkora’s rapid developnt. The barony has grown impossibly fast, funded by sources that have never been properly disclosed or audited. We have evidence suggesting embezzlent of imperial funds, tax evasion, and fraudulent financial reporting designed to hide the true nature of his activities."
